Ragu O Ragla Part 2

It’s only fitting that there is a humongous explosion right after the defeat of Ragu o Ragla.  Any boss that’d take the majority of three hours to defeat with a wash-rinse-repeat solution needs to go down convincingly.

I got the technique from one of the gaming forums I turn to when all else fails. I will outline it here now for everybody who might know / play Wild Arms XF.

So first, you’ll be needing around sixty Freeze Gems + 1. Around twenty Magic Berries should help, too. The main character here is Alexia, due to her Leader’s Duty skill, which grants her the first turn in any fight. She also needs to have the Secutor OC, the Excavator OC, the High Cavalier OC, and the MP Conserve skills equipped. Lastly, she needs to be in the Gadgeteer class.

Pre-battle preparations: You might want to put her on a starting hex that doesn’t have any lava on it, just to keep whatever damage she sustains at a minimum (chances are that her HP’s going to go down to 1 anyway, but that pretty much comes with the strategy). Place six Freeze Gems and a Magic Berry in her item pack, and begin the game.

She naturally gets the first turn thanks to Leader’s Duty (there’s a big chance that she’ll be killed in the first few turns otherwise). Right off the bat, use the High Cavalier’s Intrude skill, and keep on using it until she has seven consecutive turns. Note that this’ll probably take you a while, since Intrude uses up an insane amount of MP, even with MP Conserve equipped. When you intrude for around three times, use one of those extra turns to beef up the MP with the Secutor’s MP Burst.

Once you have seven consecutive turns ready, move closer to Ragu o Ragla, and start tossing the Freeze Gems his way. If you do this correctly, you should run out of Freeze Gems right before you run out of turns. DON’T finish up your turns; leave two to three free turns to refill your stock of Freeze Gems / Magic Berries using the Excavator OC In & Out, and Intrude / fill out your MP gauge again. Should MP Burst fail, pop a Magic Berry, Intrude a couple of times, and get back to the grind.

See why I called it a wash-rinse-repeat strategy? The idea is that Ragu o Ragla - or anybody else, for that matter - never gets a chance to get a move in while you’re slowly bringing down the so-called King of Monsters.

One thing that might alarm you is that later on in the fight, Alexia will eventually run out of vitality points, and gradually start losing HP. Don’t panic; so long as you don’t let Ragu move even an inch from where he’s standing, this won’t matter. You will win the battle with Alexia at 1 HP. Which is a pretty glorious thing in itself.
