New Toy

Friday, January 30th, 2009

The kids have a new toy and they’re crazy about it, I’m not sure what its name is but I think it’s called The Smart Cube (if I’m reading the box correctly).

Out of the box, the toy looks like a small diamond with different colors.

Doesn’t look like a diamond after they play with it.

Finally

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Finally, after the long wait I can play Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion in the arcades. What’s great is the mall near my work already has it, so I can play some games before going home.

The first thing I noticed with my favorite character (Devil Jin) is that his uppercut has been changed, instead of the opponent going up after an uppercut, he/she goes far left or right depending where your character is facing, which makes it harder to follow up a combo. Well I guess I really need to practice since all of my friends have been playing everyday and I don’t want to be left behind.

Tekken 6 BR upgrade

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Here’s a video I got from the youtube account of feichunwong, on how to update the old Tekken 6 machine to Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion.

It seems that they would just replace the old hard disk with a new one then update the machine’s firmware (modified PS3) via a USB flash drive. After knowing this, I ask myself……… why we still don’t have Tekken 6 BR in the arcades!!!!

No Tekken BR :(

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

During the Tekken 6 international tournament, one of the managers of Timezone announced that they will have the new Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion arcade machines on Jan. 20 2009, unfortunately it will only be available on selected branches. We were so anxiously waiting for the arrival of the machines and because it will only be available on selected branches, some of my friends from far places went to those branches just to have a glimpse of the latest Tekken game. However we were all disappointed to learn that there were no Tekken BR machines in any Timezone branch. Our excitement disappeared and very frustrated, most of my friends even stopped playing Tekken 6 just to wait for the newest Tekken update. Now Timezone is saying that they will have the machines on Feb. 6, hopefully what they’re saying now is true.

Guess what this is?

It’s my PS3 disassembled. Lately my PS3 was shutting down after a few hours of playing it. I researched the internet on why this happens, and the common answer was the unit might be overheating. I opened the unit and cleaned it, maybe the dust in the vent was causing the PS3 to overheat. After cleaning, I noticed the fan got a little stronger and hopefully this fixed my problem.

Testing the PS3, watching Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Playground Magazine

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

Yesterday, me and my friends were invited by one of the newest gaming magazine in the Philippines on why we all liked to play Tekken. At first I wasn’t really planning to go there, but as support to our group and also to be included in the group photo that maybe posted in the magazine, I decided to go anyway.

After some of my friends were interviewed, I wasn’t expecting to be interviewed also, since they were choosing who to interview randomly, but lucky me. :D They asked a couple of questions, but the first one was the most important, why Tekken? Even though I was expecting that question, my mind went blank and the only thing that popped out of my head was one word, and it made my answer very simple, but I think my answer would be similar with my friends………the game is just so COOL.

After the interview we played some games (courtesy of Playground Magazine) and had some pictures, hopefully it will be posted in the magazine. Thanks to Playground Magazine for giving us this opportunity.

Good News

Monday, January 12th, 2009

I want to share some good news regarding my Mama. Before starting her fourth chemotherapy session, the doctor wanted to do a CA-125 test, to know if the current medicines are still working. From her previous CA-125 level of 1300, now it’s only 300. We were so happy of the result and hopefully the good news will continue until her full recovery.

Thank you for all the prayers and support. Please continue including my Mama in your prayers, it really means a lot. Thanks so much!!!

Fourth Chemotherapy

Friday, January 9th, 2009

It’s my Mama’s schedule again for chemotherapy, this will be her 4rth session. After 2 weeks, the doctor will do an MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) to check the progress of her treatment.

Please pray for her fast and successful recovery.

Thank you very much!!!

Justice

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Have you heard about the incident of a 56 year old father and a 14 year old boy being beaten up at the Valley Golf and Country Club, Antipolo City by the Mayor of Masiu City, Lanao del Sur Philippines?

I was really shocked about this and very disappointed because they are using their power in hurting defenseless people. From the blog of Bambee De La Paz, she states that after her father and brother was beaten up in the golf course, they went to the clubhouse to look for a doctor. However the mayor’s group went there also and continued what they were doing earlier, beating them up.

I hope justice will prevail for the benefit of those who were oppressed. If justice still exists…….

Great Holiday

Monday, January 5th, 2009

I hope everyone had a great holiday because I did…….. Why, because I won the iPod raffle at work, then I was able to complete my Christmas wish list and most of all, I was celebrating the holidays with my family. Even though it was a simple celebration, what matters is we were complete…… right?  :)

Here’s the LCD to complete my wish list, below is the PS3 connected.

At the right are the speakers I first bought. Sorry for the messy room.

My wife gave me a new bag for work, maybe she noticed that my bag was already worn out.

The kids were also happy since they received the toys that they wanted, although I forgot to take pictures of them and their toys. I’ll try to post it next time.
