Yosh!! Whats going on minna?? Hahahaha this is Piyoko, and I’m back with more visual kei fun!!!

Todays band that I’m going to be talking about is the hardcore, awesome band…. Dir en grey!!!

Now I’m sure all of you know who Dir en grey is…. right?? if you don’t shame on you!!! hahah just kidding!!! Well lets get to know this great band!!

Dir en grey started in 1997. Yep yep thats a long time ago. They’ve been a band for 11 years, wow right!!! Anyway, they are currently signed with Firewall Div./SMEJ, Gan-Shin, and Warcon/Fontana. This band consists of Kyo (vocalist), Kaoru (guitarist), Die (guitarist), Toshiya (bassist), and Shinya (drummer). What’s also great to know is that these band members, stayed together for all 11 years!!! Sugoi ne??

Well if your really into head banging and really heavy and dark music, Dir en grey is the band for you!!! Even if you’re not, please give them a try!!!

Now for some song suggestions, these are some of the songs I like from them. They are audrey, Namamekashiki Ansoku, Tamerai ni Hohoemi, Lie Buried with a Vengeance, yurameki, karasu, and dozing green.

Their PV’s are also very exciting… some are kinda disturbing like the Obscure PV but hey that never stopped me from watching it!!! or any of their other PV’s.

So go on youtube, or imeem and check out their PV’s and music.

Hahaha I also have some good news as well!!! If you like Dir en grey and live in North America, you can go see them!!! They are having a tour in November so get your tickets fast!!! Yep yep before they get sold out so go and buy those tickets so you can see this band!! Just go on their official myspace for more details on tickets and the tour!!

I hope you are able to go and see them, their lives are great by the way!!!

Well todays topic is going to be about a very popular, and amazing Japanese oshare kei band…. An Cafe!!!!

And if you haven’t heard of this band, *gasp* hahaha just kidding!!! Well then let me help you find out more!!!

As usual I’ll be giving some background information about them!!! An Cafe started in 2003, signed under the labels Loop Ash/MusicRay’n and Gan-Shin. Originally, this band was started with Miku (vocalist), Kanon (guitarist), Teruki (drummer), and Bou (guitarist). But in 2007, Bou left the band. Soon following the new guitarist, Takuya and keyboardist, Yuki.

An Cafe is fun band and you will love their music as well!!!

Now as usual, here are some song suggestions to listen to!! Some you might like are, cherry saku yuuki, ryuusei rocket, the hero without a name, merrymaking, bonds~kizuna~, and Wagamama Kōshinkyoku.

Their PV’s are funny and nice to watch as well!!! Some of my favorites are merrymaking, Wagamama Kōshinkyoku, TEKESUTA kousen, snow scene, and maplegunman.

Today I’m going to be talking about the beautiful and melodious…. Versailles!!

Now if you haven’t heard of Versailles… wow… But don’t worry I will help you on that!! As usual I will give you some background info!!

Versailles started in 2007, currently signed with Sherow Artist Society and CLJ Records. This band was first formed by KAMIJO (vocalist), HIZAKI (guitarist), and Jasmine You (bassist). Then later joined by TERU (guitarist) and YUKI (drummer).

In their music, there are a lot of orchestra sounding melodies and classical influence. If you don’t like classical music thats okay because Versailles isn’t just about classical music.

Their whole idea is about “the absolute youshikibi (beauty of form) sound and extreme aestheticism” (pursuit of beauty).

Versailles is such an amazing band. Especially HIZAKI and his guitar!! If you don’t know what I’m talking about please go listen to them!

Now for some song suggestions!!! Some songs you might like are the Revenant choir, shouts and bites, the love from a dead orchestra, and windress.

Their PV’s are nice too. You can go on youtube and check them out. I really the PV to the revenant choir. 

You can buy their music on iTunes as well so yay!! You can click on the iTunes picture on their official website. So lets support Versailles!!!

hehe whats up minna!!?? This is Piyoko-chan, and I’m finally back with the visual kei bands!!! (・◇・)

I’m sure you guys have been anticipating this!! Well I have chosen today’s band because one of my best friends have become obsessed with this band recently.

They are the ones who play heavy positive rock…. SuG!!!

Now I’m sure some of you are wondering, who is SuG?? and I bet those who already listen to them are excited over this blog entry!!! Well don’t fret, because I’ll give you some info on them!!

SuG is an oshare kei band that started in October 2006. They are currently signed under PS Company and Indie PSC. The band first started with Takeru (vocalist), Masato (guitarist), Yuji (guitarist), and Shouta (bassist). Later on that year, Mitsuru (drummer) joined the band. Later on, Shouta left the band and Chiyu there new bassist joined.

SuG has a heavy sound, heavier than antic cafe. But like I said before, its heavy postive rock.

Well I’ve just started listening to the band, but so far, I like them. And I’m sure you will too!!!

As usual I will be suggesting some songs that you might like. Some are scheat, cherish, gentou, b.r.k, and 四季彩.

And their PV’s are good too!!! In my opinion, I like LOVE SCREAM PARTY, Vi-Vi-Vi, and アゥタナAlterna.

So go on youtube, or imeem and watch/listen to SuG!!! You might think of antic cafe when you see them, but both bands are good!!!

Ok now to begin todays blog entry!!! well today i’m going to be talking about the crazy and totally awesome vocalist and guitarist… Miyavi!!!

Hehe this is Piyoko-chan and I hope everyone can enjoy todays blog entry!!!

Now I’m sure all of you are dying to know more about Miyavi right?? haha ok then, hajimemasho!!

Miyavi started in 2002 (just like the GazettE) signed under PS Company, and later in 2003, with Universal Records Japan. Miyavi is both a guitarist and vocalist.

Before Miyavi went solo, he was in a visual kei band called Dué le Quartz (please feel free to check out this band). While in Dué le Quartz, his name was Miyabi (雅), but after changed his name to Miyavi after the band broke up in 2002 (thats when he went solo).

He also changed his name from Miyavi to Myv (which is a shortened version of his name), but many still refer to him as Miyavi.

Miyavi was also one of the many who performed at the JRock Revolution concert in 2007. There he announced that he was in a new band called Skin. This band includes Yoshiki, Gackt, Sugizo, Ju-Ken, and Miyavi himself!!

Now to those who’ve never listened to Miyavi and are interested, you’re probably wondering whats so special about him.

Well Myv is very unique, he is one of Japan’s best guitarist!! If you haven’t seen him play, you’re missing out on a lot!! Myv plays his own rhythms and not only are they creative, but their catchy and really cool!!! Especially when he does slap guitar on his acoustic!! You really have to check it out!!!

Well isn’t he an inspiration!!! Well since I too play guitar (acoustic that is), I am really impressed and he makes me want to play like that!!! Not that I ever can haha I’m terrible >.

The songs I suggest are itoshii hito, what a wonderful world, neo visualism, are you ready to rock, kabuki danshi, and ashita tenki ni naare. Well those are just some I like, but you will find more songs you like, if you look!!!

Today I’m going to be discussing the very cool and popular band, the GazettE!

Yay!!! I bet you’re all wondering, who are these hotties?? haaa, I won’t tell you!!

just kidding I will!! Well for starters, you’re looking at one of Japan’s most successful visual kei band! (・◇・)

the GazettE started in 2002, currently signed under PS Company, King Records, and CLJ Records. The band first started with Ruki (vocalist), Uruha (guitarist), Reita (bassist), Aoi (guitarist), and Yune (drummer).

But in 2003, Yune (drummer), decided to leave the band. Soon afterwards, Kai (the GazettE’s new drummer), joined the band. This just became the start of their awesome journey to success!!

Now to those who have never heard of the GazettE, you’re probably wondering what their music is like.

Well they can have very dark and heavy music, but sometimes they can be serene and soothing! In my opinion, their music just keeps getting better and better!!!

Once you listen to their music, you’ll definitely see what I mean. Not only are the vocals great, but the guitars really rock!! While the bass creates a smooth beat, and the drums really keep them all in balance, with rhythm and all.

Now as usual, I’ll be giving some suggestions on what songs you might possibly like. Some of my favorites are guren, silly god disco, filth in the beauty, kare uta, cassis, reila, and hyena.

Haha now get out there and listen to their music!! Go on youtube or imeem or whatever website and listen to their music!! (・θ・)

Ohh and their PV’s as well, their very good. I really like the PV for Guren, which is their latest single.

This time I’m going to be talking about the amazing and wonderful band called… alice nine.

hehe yep yep this is Piyoko-chan reporting from her dark and kinda scary basement… haha just kidding!! . . . -.-’

Anyway… I bet you’re all wondering, who is alice nine. Well… I’ll tell you!!! (・θ・)

alice nine. (アリス九號.) is a visual kei band that started in 2004. (if you read my last blog entry then you would know that Ayabie also started in 2004). This cool band consists of Shou (vocalist), Hiroto (guitarist), Tora (guitarist), Saga (bassist), and Nao (drummer). This band is under PS Company’s record label, as well as Japan’s King Records, and German label CLJ Records.

This band even came to America for the JRock Revolution concert in California, in 2007. Also featuring many other visual kei bands. Unfortunately i was unable to go, but its ok, hopefully I will see them in the future. (・◇・)

alice nine. is a great band ranging from fun music like blue planet to heavy rock like yami ni chiru sakura.

During the years, alice nine. has really grown. In their music you can even tell how much they’ve changed.

Though I just discovered them in early 2007, I’ve really fallen in love with them! They are by far my favorite band and they were the first band that got me into visual kei! (・◇・)

If you haven’t already fallen for this band then check out their music youself!! Not only is their music great, but their PV’s are awesome!!!

Now I bet you’re all thinking, wow I should really check out this band (you’re probably not thinking that but lets just go with the flow haha) but you don’t know where to start.

Well just go on youtube or whatever website you prefer, and search for alice nine. Now since you’re reading this, you probably want some suggestions.

Well in my opinion, I love all their songs. But some songs I suggest you listen to are MIRROR BALL, Fantasy, TSUBASA, Ruri no Ame, White Prayer, NUMBER SIX, and Eraser -Memoire d’une fleur-.

Hehe and while you’re at it check their PV’s. Their PV’s are really cool too, i really like MIRROR BALL!!

OO and lets all look forward to their newest single RAINBOW. It should be released on August 6 so yea i’ll be anticipating that.

Hello everyone!! I’m Piyoko-chan!!! hehe this blog topic today will be about Japan’s cute and fun-loving band, Ayabie!!!! (・◇・)

If you haven’t heard of them, then here is a good place to start!!! And to all those who already listen to them, yay you!!!

Well now for some background information!!! Ayabie (彩冷える) started in 2004, signed under the label Speed Disk. Originally the band consisted of Aoi (vocalist), Takehito (guitarist), Intetsu (bassist), and Ryohei (guitarist).  

During 2004, Ayabie had a support drummer but a year later Kenzo became the official drummer for Ayabie! Then in 2006, Ryohei decided to leave the band and soon after started his own band called Megamasso (please feel free to check out Ryhoei’s new band).  As a result, Ayabie got its newest member, Yumehito soon afterwards!!

Just recently Ayabie came to America for their World Tour! Their first stop was at the Knitting Factory in New York!! Because I’m a big fan of Ayabie, me and my friend bought tickets to watch them!!!

It was a great experience to watch Ayabie live!! Aoi sang very well live and it almost sounded like from the PV’s. The guitars (Takehito and Yumehito), sounded very well on the solos and throughout the songs played. Also the bass (Intetsu) really helped to keep the beat and music flowing. We can’t forget the drums now, the drums really kept the rhythm, so good job Kenzo!!

Hehe not only did I get to meet people who share the same love for Visual Kei and Ayabie, I got the band members autograph as well!! After the show their was an autograph session for anyone who bought at least $30 worth of merchandise!

The band members seemed really friendly and they really reached out to the fans!! The atmosphere at their concert really spread to even those in the balconies that couldn’t be near the stage (well at least in my point of view)!! I’m sure they were nervous because this was their first performance in America. But overall, they did a great job and they really let their feelings out to the fans!!  

Ayabie has more of a technoy electronic sound, but they have some Japanese elements in their music as well. I’m not very good at explaining things so why don’t you check out their PV’s and singles yourself!!!

Go on youtube or imeem or whatever and listen to Ayabie!! I suggest you listen to Cubic “L/R” ock, Yubisaki, and TheMe. Those are some of my favorite songs from Ayabie!!
