HKO-nfuzzled

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

So I just checked the Sanrio town forums, and I read that HKO Indonesia will be open to international players, and it will feature new quests (which was my fear, since I didn’t want to do the same quests over again). I created an account on Gloot.net and activated my account.

Problem #1: I couldn’t find the login page. I had to look for some other way to log in.

After I logged in…

Problem #2: "Game Activation" isn’t hyperlinked, which means, I can’t activate HKO. I tried clicking on the other links on Gloot, they’re all dead.

How am I supposed to install the game now?x_x

I don’t know if I’m having one of my dumb moments, but I honestly can’t see where the Games section is.

US Trip Day 9: SeaWorld

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

I’ve always loved SeaWorld, so it was great going back there.:P

Just some things though: there’s something about Sea World that didn’t feel… right. I don’t really know how to describe it, but compared to when I was there in 2001, they seemed to have "downgraded" it in some way.

For starters, there were less shows. Maybe our going there on a weekday instead of a weekend had something to do with it, but (if I remember correctly) Shamu only performed twice, and the other shows only had three performances for the entire day, so we spent the majority of time shuttling from one show to the other to get good seats that we didn’t really get to check out the aquariums and other exhibits. Also, there seemed to be less sharks (in number and in species) now compared to before. I seem to remember hammerhead sharks in the underground aquarium before, but I didn’t see one when we went there. I was also sad that Cirque de la Mer wasn’t open yet when we were there.:(

Still, it was pretty cool. SeaWorld’s still my favorite amusement park in the end.:P

I was looking for a cute penguin, seal, or polar bear plushie there, but the stuff they have there were definitely tourist trap prices.x_x Gah. I ended up buying a couple of snow globes instead, since I always get at least one when I go there.XD

On to the pictures!

Bird’s-eye view of the park from the Skytower. We were there right during the opening, so there aren’t that many people yet.

US Trip Day 8: Balboa Park

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

Yeah, we actually went to Balboa Park on the same day we went to Old Town and Hotel del Coronado, but I thought I’d create a new entry for this one since I’ve got more photos from here.

To start with, Hotel Coronado is really huge. We didn’t even go in the museums there, just walked around the area, and it took us more than a couple of hours to check out the whole place.

Anyway, I’ll let the picture speak for themselves. I’m glad we went there during spring, because there were a lot of flowers blooming in the area.

US Trip Day 8: Old Town and Hotel Coronado

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

In case you’ve noticed, yep, I’ve skipped two days.:P That’s because over the weekend, we didn’t really do much sightseeing, just spent time with our family there, and since I don’t really post our pictures online, I moved on to the next sightseeing place.

By Day 6, we were already back in San Diego, so we went and explored it for the next few days. The last time I was there, we just went to the malls and other commercial places, so this was the first time I’d be seeing Old Town and Balboa Park (my entry for tomorrow). I’ve been to Hotel Coronado before, but it’s always worth a visit, especially for the bridge you have to cross to reach Coronado itself.:P

I definitely loved Old Town. It’s pretty much a recreation of 19th Century San Diego so you can see how they lived back then. Each booth offers something new, like structures for blacksmiths, dentists, miners, shoe cobblers, trial courts, candy shops, and more. It’s really a place history buffs would love to check out.^_^ In fact, while we were there, there were some kids who were there for a field trip, which was pretty cool.

My brother got a kick out of the lucha libre masks there.XD I bought a really lovely pair of moccasins there, I’ll take a picture when I get it (we sent it to our home address from the US along with some of our other stuff, since we couldn’t carry all our baggage if we tried). We also bought a set of assorted sugar-coated nuts, which were really yummy.

On to the pictures!

Adam Lambert

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

21fee61e-8f2b-4c83-a5b0-499c2b986d44I know, I know, another digression. I just read on Yahoo! news that Adam Lambert admitted he’s gay on Rolling Stone magazine. It’s not like we all know that anyway, but I’m just annoyed at why they’re making such a big deal out of it. Does it really matter if he’s gay or not? Does it make him less talented if he’s not straight?

Seriously. People really need to get over it already. He’s an awesome performer. I don’t have anything against Kris, but I really thought Adam would win. He performed better than Kris throughout the competition. Kris did have his moments, but  Adam was more consistent than he was for me.

All I can say is, go Adam!

Break with Breakfast!

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

Just taking a break from my vacation posts.XD

You Are Muesli
You are broad minded and cosmopolitan.
Your tastes are varied and numerous.

You like many types of things. You definitely aren’t picky.
The only thing you can’t stand is being bored.

You’re the kind of person who can’t have the same breakfast often.
Your breakfast is unpredictable, unique, and very varies.

Haha! This is somewhat true. I hate being bored! I’m not the kind of person who can sit quietly and not do anything - I always need to do something! I also don’t like having the same meal on consecutive days. That’s not to say I don’t eat leftovers (because I do), I just needs to skip a day before eating it again.

US Trip Day 5: From Vegas to LA

US Trip Day 4: Nevada, Arizona, and Utah

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

Yep, you read it correctly: we went through three states in one day.XD

Actually, the original plan was to go to the Grand Canyon, but my sister was a little worried about the steep drive (directions showed that that the zigzag part alone took about four hours), so we ended up going to the Valley of Fire, a Nevada National Park, and we also tried to hunt for a lookout point in Arizona to see the Canyons, even just from a distance. No such luck.

I can’t remember why we ended up reaching Utah.o_o

Anyway, on to the pictures!

Valley of Fire pics: The photos definitely don’t justify the place. The rocks were very red, so you really see why it’s called the Valley of Fire. It’s also interesting, because apparently, back in the dawn of time, the area used to be under the sea, and it took about a thousand years before the water flowed somewhere else. It’s pretty hard to imagine, because it almost felt like a desert there.

US Trip Day 3: Las Vegas

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

So yeah, back to the regular programming. Haha!Anyway, Day 3 came, and we had to say goodbye to San Francisco.*sniff* I really loved that place. If you’re visiting there, make sure you grab a bowl (or two) of their clam chowder (white sauce, not the red sauce. It’s more fattening, but it tasted better, at least in the restaurant we ate in). Again, I’m promoting Argonaut Hotel. It’s really nice, and it’s not just the place, but the people working there as well are really awesome too.

Anyway, we went back to the airport and headed off to our terminal. Our next stop? You guessed it (or read it, since it’s in my blog title XD)

Vegas, baby!

We actually stayed there for two nights, two days, but I’ve got other pictures to show you for Day 4, so I’ll just be posting all the Vegas pictures here.

My parents, brother, and my sister tried their luck at the slot machines, but I didn’t. It didn’t matter though, because my sister gave me some of her winnings, so I ended up getting more money without risking my own.XD Also, I don’t think they would allow me to gamble. I might be of legal age, but I don’t think I look it. I think it’s the height.x_x Heck, when we were in the baggage counter at the airport waiting for our luggage, I had one of the attendants ask what my age was simply because I was standing beside a slot machine. Crazy.x_x

I think it was in Vegas where I gained the most weight from, since we were always eating in buffets. Granted, we only ate breakfast and dinner since we were out a large part of the day sight-seeing and stuff, but we ate a lot during those times to compensate. Hotel restaurants we ate in were in MGM Grand (incidentally, we stayed over at the Signature), Mandalay, and Paris (we had one of our dinners on the road, since we were still out until 9, and we got pretty hungry). My favorite was Paris in terms of food, even though my family disagreed with me and said their food was a little bland. Meh. The others had pretty good food too, though. Funny though, since we spent more time in Caesar’s Palace, and we didn’t even eat there!

We didn’t catch any of the shows, since we’d always arrive pretty late at night, so we were tired. Too bad, because I wanted to watch the Lion King live. Oh well.

Anyway, on to the pictures! I just resized them to not mess up the layout.

 dsc02214.jpg

Can you see Yellow in the picture?XD

dsc02223.jpg

dsc02224.jpg

It’s only in Vegas where you can visit Paris, Venice, and Egypt in the same day.XD

dsc02239.jpg

The famous dancing fountains of Bellagio. It got the “Viva Las Vegas” song stuck in my head.XD

The next few shots are taken from Caesar’s Palace. While my family’s playing at the slots, I was busy taking pictures of the place.:P I loved reading Greek mythology when I was younger, so it was fun walking around and seeing the statues.

dsc02258.jpg

dsc02273.jpg

dsc02280.jpg

You definitely won’t get claustrophobic there, because the ceiling’s painted to look like you were outdoors.

dsc02290.jpg

dsc04575.jpg

dsc04577.jpg

 dsc02292.jpg

Strangely, they also have an aquarium there. It doesn’t fit in the whole Greek thing, but what do I know, right?:P Love how the kid is so fascinated with the stingray.

Oh, and I discovered one of the best places to buy sweet stuff in Vegas! It’s in the Bellagio, and it’s called “Jean-Philippe Chocolates and Pastries”. They have the best ice cream. Ever.

dsc02313.jpg

It’s the creamiest I’ve ever tasted. Yum! Just thinking about it makes me drool.XD

And if that’s not enough, check out one of their displays:

dsc02306.jpg

Three kinds of fondue! Waaah! And that’s just one part of it, because it’s actually higher than that. There are more of those container things on the upper part.

May Movies

by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com

Because my Internet’s being a jerk today and giving me a hard time, I decided I’ll postpone today’s vacation entry (since it would take years before the photos would upload at this rate) and instead just blog about the movies I watched last month. It’s funny, because it’s only when I ended up going someplace that I got to watch so many films.

Anyway, here’s the list:

1. X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I’ve been so excited to catch this since it’s going to be featuring Gambit, who’s one of my favorite X-Men in the old cartoons (along with Rogue). Was disappointed, really. The storyline was bleh. It’s like the writers and the producers just thought of bringing one mutant after another to fight Wolverine, who would, of course, end up beating all of them. And their treatment of Gambit was pretty lame, too. It’s like they made him to have the ability of shuffling cards really, really fast and smashing his staff on the ground hard. Bah.

2. Hotel for Dogs. This was the movie they showed on the plane. The only movie. And it was a 12-hour flight. I know I’ve blogged a lot of times that I love dogs, but if you watch a movie four times in a row, you’d get sick of it, especially if it’s not the kind of film you watch in the first place.

3. Taken. I watched this on Blu-Ray in my sister’s place. I already watched this back home, but it was still pretty cool. Liam Neeson was awesome.

4. Star Trek. I loved this one. I never was a Trekkie. Heck, I never watched a Star Trek episode in my life! My main (er, actually only) reason for watching this is for Zachary Quinto, who I love in Heroes. He was completely awesome in this film. He was definitely Spock, not Sylar. The effects were pretty good, and Chris Pine, as Kirk, was pretty funny, but I loved Dr. McCoy more, who had great comic timing.

5. Angels and Demons. My mom’s a Dan Brown fan, so she got us to go with her to watch it. I never read the books (it’s not my interest, and to be honest, I think Dan Brown just picked a controversial topic to sell his works, but that’s just me), so I can’t really say if it stayed true to the story or not. It was okay, the twists were interesting, but ultimately, it’s not the kind of film I’d go for.

6. Wall-E. Yeah, yeah, sue me for only watching it now.XD It was pretty cute, but I liked some other Pixar movies (like Finding Nemo and The Incredibles!) more.

7. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Also saw this on Blu-Ray. It’s odd watching a movie and knowing how it would end, since the plot of that was already given back in the first Underworld movie, but it was still pretty cool. For the first time, I was rooting for the Lycans (other than Lucian, anyway) as opposed to the vampires.

8. Terminator: Salvation. One of my fave movies of all time is T2, which I watched way too many times when I was a kid (yeah, T2 isn’t really a children’s movie. Blame cable for that.), so I definitely had to see it. It’s definitely better than T3, which was the worst movie in the series. It’s pretty cool how they developed John Connor’s story, as well as bringing in another plot in the movie, what with Marcus’s story. I was hoping for more of Kyle Reese, since he essentially started it all, but he didn’t get as much screen time as I wanted. Still, it was a pretty good flick.

Other movies I caught on cable were “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”, “The Mummy Returns” and “What Women Want”.

Yep, May’s definitely my movie month this year.:P
