I won! Hurray! Last count: 51,442 words.^_^

Actually, I haven’t finished the novel yet. I have about two chapters yet before the story ends (but that’s fine, as long as you reach 50,000, you’re already a winner. You don’t have to finish it.:P) and even then, my novel-writing doesn’t stop. I have to edit it, tweak and hack at the entire thing before it becomes even the least bit presentable (I can already think of parts that make me cringe, and I’m definitely developing the personality of the characters. Some of them seem too flat for me).:P Still, am proud of myself *pats back* I never thought I’d become obsessed with the calculator on all the PCs I use like I did.:P Great fun, and I can’t wait for next year.^_^ I have 12 months to think about a decent plot.XD

Lessons learned during NaNoWriMo:

1. Dialogues are lurv. I loved making my characters banter, even if it’s about the dumbest things.

2. Flashbacks can’t be used at all times. Alas, my favorite tool in my past writings wasn’t used.:( Still, I love using this, so I might use flashbacks next year.

3. Chocolates and coffee make a badtzy happy.XD Well, that actually works all year round, so it’s not just a NaNoWriMo thing.:P

Oh, and I watched “Twilight” over the weekend (not really by choice, but I had some friends who were obsessed with Edward, so…XD) Will let you know what I think of it tomorrow.XD
