Prince Caspian
by iheartbadtz:mymelody.com
I watched “Prince Caspian” over the weekend, and I have to say, it’s an epic on its own right. I absolutely loved it! Yep, they definitely took liberties in the story (or should I say a lot of ‘em, since they only retained the general storyline of the book, but not how it was carried out) but I didn’t really mind what they did (for the first time, since I’m such a nitpicker when it comes to books turned into films). Much of my love for the movie might be because I’m a Narnia-head. I loved the books ever since I read them a few years back (I cried buckets in “The Last Battle”). “Prince Caspian”, though, wasn’t my favorite in the series. But hey, it’s Narnia right, so I was still pretty excited to watch it. I wasn’t disappointed! It was an awesome movie! It wasn’t as visually spectacular as LOTR, but it definitely had its own magic to it. First scene up, I pretty much figured out that it’s going to be way different from the book - but it turned out fine. Really. And I have to say, the acting was brilliant, especially the kids’! I loved how they were in “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,” but they shone in Caspian! Georgie Henley was especially adorable as Lucy, I wanted to pat her on the head a lot of times while watching because she’d be a cool younger sister. While I didn’t imagine Caspian to look as he did, Ben Barnes was able to pull off the role quite well (and be eye candy as well ^_^). He’s always been my favorite character (because of TLTWTW… And Skandar Keynes looks amazing. Too bad he’s younger than me by a few years. Hurmph. Yeah, there were some scenes that were a bit dragging, but it was still awesome all in all. It was the first time I didn’t complain that the film was completely off from the book, because they treated it well. Oh, and highlight the next part please: Even if I was kind of weirded out that they made Susan and Caspian’s role romantic in the movie, but it wasn’t particularly iffy. It was quite cute, actually, and to think I thought it was going to be horrible the way my friend was ranting about that part.:P Anyway, I highly recommend it for people to watch.^_^ Whether they read the books or not, it’s a must-see. It would be great if they watched TLTWTW first to see where the Pevensies are coming from (especially Edmund!^_^) but it still works.
My favorite though will always be Edmund.
