I peeked out, and when I didn’t see anyone, I stepped out.

*Growl*

Me: Hello?

*Pochi attacks, with teeth bared*

Me: EEEEEEK! Pochi, peace! *Shows tray of pineapple donuts*

*Pochi stops, sniffing the food suspiciously*

Me: Er… I just want to give this to Badtz. You love Badtz, right? *looks at Pochi hopefully*

*Pochi glares and then sniffs*

Me: Urm, you see, I baked it! For him!

*Pochi snarls again*

Me: Yikes! And for you too, of course!

*Pochi quiets down*

Me: Erm, I remembered it’s his birthday, so I thought I’d give you two a treat! What do you say, Pochi?

*Pochi glares, and then walks to where Badtz is sitting*

Me: Here’s my birthday gift for you, Badtz!

*Badtz glares*

Badtz: For me? Why?

Me: It’s your birthday, right? And it’s my way of saying sorry for squishing you like that.

Badtz: You didn’t put anything here right? *Looks at me suspiciously*

Me: No! I made this just for you! It’s donuts! You love donuts, right?

*Badtz drools at the donuts*

Badtz: Well, ok then… *Starts pecking at the donuts* It’s really good! What’s in this, anyway?

Me: Well, there’s sugar and flour and eggs and love and care and pineapples and…

*Badtz spews out crumbs*

Badtz: *Growls* Pineapple?!

Me: Well, yes, pineapple. I thought you loved pineapple!

Badtz: I’m ALLERGIC TO PINEAPPLES!
And right before my very eyes, Badtz started to swell like a little spiky balloon. Yikes! I wanted to see if he was alright, but suddenly Pochi chased after me. I had no choice but to run back to the house.:(

So there. That’s how I spent my April Fools’ Day. Who knew that a penguin from Hawaii could be allergic to pineapples?:(
