Mood: Thoughtful

I got into thinking after I posted my entry yesterday. I don’t think I’m going to be bigheaded enough to assume that the mooncake makers really made the cakes shaped like my head (yes, it hurts, but honesty is the best policy after all.) Anyway, I realized that people who don’t know any better (read: pirates) are making products that they think feature my dear sister Kitty, when in fact it’s yours truly that they’re showing. I’m against piracy, of course (they’re gaining a lot for something that they don’t really deserve - kinda sounds like someone that I know), but it’s certainly giving me more air time than if they’re not there. Check these pictures out:

I know, they’re not really me - the color’s all wrong, to begin with, but the ribbon is on the right ear. For a minute, though, it feels good, seeing your face in items again after a long time.

How do I let these people know that what they’re doing is wrong, but promote my exposure at the same time? It doesn’t seem like Sanrio’s all that eager to have my design out anytime soon (even if Kitty and I are literally mirror images of each other), so how do I get legitimate airtime? I don’t want to milk the situation (even if it is tempting) and rely on underhanded advertising to get the recognition I deserve. I’m not that desperate. Well, maybe I am, but that doesn’t mean that I have to go the bad route. Besides, with the way my luck is going, people probably assume that these pictures are of Kitty, who just got tired of wearing her ribbon on her ear so she transferred it to the other one.

Maybe I should just change my image completely so I can be taken as separate from Kitty. I could even become punk or rock, even hiphop! Maybe if I do that, people would remember me more, and think of me as Mimmy, not as Kitty’s twin sister or (perish the thought) her pirated version.

Kisses,
Mimmy
