Mood: Frustrated

Here’s the deal. Over the weekend, I tried to reflect on my life and my rise (please don’t add “fall”) as a famous cat. Just when I was coming to terms with the fact that I am still popular (in my own way), one of our agents called.

Me: (Sighs) White residence, home of the world-famous Hello Kitty, her not-so-famous sister speaking. May I know who this is, please?

Mr. Agent: Hi Mimmy!

Me: Oh, hey Mr. Agent! (I still cannot believe that our agent is named Agent.) Sorry, but my sister isn’t at home right now. She’s probably off in one of her photo shoots or world travels again. Can I take a message?

Mr. Agent: Oh, no, Mimmy! I actually called to talk to you!

Me: Really? *ears perk up* What for?

Mr. Agent: Yeah. See, we’re planning on making a movie about you and your sister, and…

Me: Don’t tell me, let me guess? I’ll be the villain, right?

Mr. Agent: Of course not, Mimmy! Your role’s much more important than that!

Me: *perks up again* Really? What am I going to do? Will it be a “Princess and the Pauper” type of story, with me as the princess and my Kitty dressed up in rags?

Mr. Agent: Er… No. Fairy tale stories aren’t really hip anymore, you know.

Me: *crestfallen* Oh.

Mr. Agent:This movie’s going to be much better than that, though!

Me: Oh!

Mr. Agent: Are you ready for this? You’re going to be…

Me: An astronaut? A scientist? A ballerina? A racecar driver?

Mr. Agent: Kitty’s stunt double.

Me: I’m going to be a what?!

Mr. Agent: Well, we can’t have your sister beaten up, could we? She’s the star, after all.

Me: You.re. Going. To. Make. Me. A. Double.

Mr. Agent: Yep! You’re going to jump through flaming hoops, leap off a 20-story building, swim in a piranha-infested pool, the works! You’ve got nine lives after all, right? So all you need is one or two of ‘em and…

*click*

Honestly! The nerve! I think I’ll go and take the villain route any day! At least that way, I could get the chance to pretend I’m getting my revenge on my sister.

Me as a stunt double. I can’t get over it. I need my dear old scratching post to vent my frustrations on. Maybe I’ll rip it to shreds and finally get a new one (after ten million years).
