Mariah Carey’s New York home is so big she doesn’t know how many bathrooms she has - but she has one that’s dedicated to Hello Kitty!

The singer admits she has no idea what credentials her 12,000 sq ft apartment, located in the city’s exclusive Tribeca district, boasts.

When asked in Glamour magazine how many bathrooms she has, Mariah replied: "I don’t know! Do you really want me to try and think about it?"

Although she has no idea about the number of restrooms the property has, she has got one room entirely dedicated to Hello Kitty, the famous Japanese cartoon cat.

The 37-year-old star said: "I’ve liked Hello Kitty since I was little."

Mariah - who shot to fame when she was just 20 with her debut album Mariah Carey - also admits she still struggles to deal with fame.

When asked what advice she would give to troubled young stars Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, she told Glamour: "I wouldn’t want to speak to those people specifically, but I would say you need to be very centered, and spiritually know where you’re at, all the time. Don’t be obsessed with what people are writing or saying. Live your life for you. My lifestyle has changed since making it as a singer. It’s not a financial struggle, but I’m still struggling in a lot of ways."
