Hello Kitty Crazy! - EVEN MORE!

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

So yeah.. more. Here is what I didn’t fit into the last few posts. Tehehe.

Hello Kitty Notebook
This is my notebook for school. Most notes and doodles. It’s nice to have.

Hello Kitty and My Melody Pez Dispensers and Case
My boyfriend bought this for me the other weekend to go along with my collection. I love the clear plastic that they used for the heads. It makes them special. The whole thing was only 9 dollars too!

Hello Kitty Shoelaces
I’ve had these on my shoes so long I almost forgot they were Hello Kitty!

That’s all I had left for now :) Chococat craziness is coming - beware!

Hello Kitty Crazy! - More Stuff!

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

I like things that are Hello Kitty to be portable. These are some things that I usually carry with me. They are always on hand to do their usefulness or adorable cuteness (it adds to the greatness of many a thing).

Hello Kitty as an Orange Key Cover.
This little key cover (now) houses the key to my industrial design studio (i.d. = the design of products, packaging, things that are 3d.) It helps it stand out from the three other brass keys that look just like it.

Hello Kitty as an Apple Bag Charm.
I asked for this for Christmas thinking of it as a cell phone charm, but this thing is nearly as big as my cell phone. It was a perfect fit for my mustard yellow school bag though!

Hello Kitty Lanyard
I haven’t used this in a little bit, but when I was in dorm rooms this was great. I could latch it into my bag, wear on my neck, hang it on the hook when in the shower. It used to have my room key and ID, necessary for everything freshman year. I love the charms. This one even came from Japan ^_^.

Hello Kitty as an Elephant Cell Phone Charm
I love elephants. I love hello kitty. What could be better. Why, of course! It matches my phones colors. I have a white Sony Ericsson with silver detailing that’s keys all are back lit with blue. And the blue, white, and silver of this charm are perfect. And I NEVER lose my cell phone, the bell helps me find it in my huge school bags.

Hello Kitty and Chococat Pens
These are some of the pens and pencils I have collected. The Chococat ones I have had literally forever. I’m talking sometime Junior/Senior year of high school. One of them still works. The cute little multi colored kitty pen had it’s Hello Kitty charm fall off, but it is SO useful at school. I can just switch colors to draw different layers when I need to. It helps me a lot. And the Angel Hello Kitty pencil is something I just recently found.

Hello Kitty on the keychain
There are multiple items here. First in the light up Hello Kitty key cover. I got this as a gift from my mom (she picked it out all by herself - go mom!) from strapya-world.com (also where my cell and bag charms are from.) It had my mailbox key in it. Mr Mousey isn’t Sanrio - I made him! That little silver mouse is all my original design. 3D modeled all by me, then sand cast as a part in a metal foundry. Then I sanded it down. A lot :). Next is the small Hello Kitty pen and caribeener, which I think I got at Target. There is a little tiny Hello Kitty charm attached to the pen, but you can’t really see it here.

And never fear - I still have more to talk about!

Hello Kitty Crazy! - In The Kitchen

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

While the majority of my kitchenware is Value City or Ikea, I have found the occasional place for a few Hello Kitty items.

Hello Kitty Sammich Maker. This was a gift from my mother for college. I did beg for it, and it was on sale at Target right before Christmas (this was in 2005). And it has been great. Despite a direct fall onto my MacBook Pro in my dorms (Hello Kitty Sammich Maker won - the Mac still has a small dent), it has made all my sammich making dreams come true. It makes GREAT sammiches.

Hello Kitty Tea Cup. I got this in Polaris Mall somewhere near Columbus, Ohio over spring break. I just couldn’t help myself. I can never drink much in the morning, and this is the perfect cup size for me . AND IT IS SOO CUTE.

Hello Kitty Chopsticks
I picked these up along with some other goodies in the Japan section of Epcot at Disneyland this summer. I was SO in love with them (and all the Hello Kitty stuff) but we had to pack light. So I just bought these. I take them with me everywhere. I whip them out at Wendy’s and random places and eat with them.

Don’t worry, there is more stuff to come!

Hello Kitty Crazy! - Jewelry

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

So I am one of those girls who feels naked without a pair of earrings, at least one necklace, my ring, and something around my wrist. I barely wear makeup, but I love accessories. I’ve been collecting my Sanrio earrings for a little while now, and here is what I have picked up.

The collection - 6 Pairs of Earrings

Hello Kitty goes Shopping Earrings.
I got these recently at Polaris Mall near Columbus, Ohio. Super Cute. I don’t wear them as much as the others though.

Hello Kitty Fortune Earrings. I think it looks more like she’s holding bread or something, but whatever. I got these in a three pack at Hot Topic. I don’t love the store, but hey, I don’t have Sanrio stores, so I go where I gotta go.

Similar to the Hello Kitty Fortune Earrings, only now she’s eating from a giant bowl! Part of the 3 pack.

The last of the three pack, the Hello Kitty Ball Earrings. These are one of my top favorites. Because most people just think they are fake pearls or just plastic beads, but they are so adorable. It’s a great surprise.

Chi Chai Monchan Earrings. I bought these at Polaris Mall in Columbus, Ohio as well over spring break. I bought my boyfriend’s sister a pair as well . Uber cute. I love Chi Chai Monchan.

Chococat Earrings! My first pair, I bought in the winter I believe. Again, at Polaris Mall. I wear these the most. I wear them for dates, interviews, whatever. I love the fact that they are black and so versatile. AND SO CUTE! Plus, Chococat is my fave.

I’m still collecting earrings, so surely there will be more to come!

Hello Kitty Crazy! - Purchases

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

So I do own a good amount of Sanrio stuff. My travel stuff is Chococat. I used to have an awesome Chococat mirror that is current in my makeup train case. So I guess I still have it. One day you will see the entirety of my collection. But here is some for now!

Adorable Hello Kitty Pez Dispenser. I have a small collection. I got this one at Wal-Mart in the checkout lane. They only had Chococat - which I already have.

A Chococat CD holder my sister got for me. She lives in California and has Sanrio stores. Envious!

Not only is this Marshmellow Pop ADORABLE, but it is also amazingly delicious. Soo Good. My mom bought this one for me at Target

More to Come.. This is Just the beginning.

Hello Kitty Crazy! - Self Made

I am a big fan of Hello Kitty - in case you can’t tell. In this I’m just going to show you some of the things I have made / done in the name of Hello Kitty. Most of this is pretty recent.

HKO CB : Guilds

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Like in most other MMORPGs, like Wow, or even in non MMO settings like Halo, Hello Kitty online allows guilds. The way it is set up is by a Guild NPC located in one of the main towns. Anyone can start a guild, you don’t have to pay (in WoW you do) or be anyone special or something. I joined a guild, and did not start my own. It’s a nice system. Guild mates can help you build your house, and also you have a guild chat channel. Which makes it great for when you are alone in your farm and need someone to talk to.

HKO CB : Farm & House

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

In the HKO CB, you have your own farm and house. You have to plant your own crops and farm them. They can die or flourish. You must build your own house as well - which takes some time. You can have guild mates help you out. It is a simply process just long. There isn’t much to say about it though. You get to decorate your own house, and there are different garden styles. You begin with a basic one and can upgrade with money. Here are some screen shots.

HKO CB : Characters and Pets

Friday, April 25th, 2008

One of the great things about HKO, along with many other RPGs, is the character customization. You play as a human avatar - NOT A SANRIO CHARACTER. This seems to be misunderstood by a lot. (Ex. When I mentioned the game to a kid in my class, he wanted to play as Bad BadtzMaru. I told him no.) I like the human avatars because it puts your in their world. You can choose from a boy or a girl, and change hair and eye.

My in-game avatar

Your character is you in the game. You can meet others (you see their characters walking around). It’s really a nice set-up.

There are also pets. Pets are adorable. The ones I have seen are the following two : a sheep and a scorpion. There will be more available. You can seem some at hellokittyonline.com.

hirooo, my sheep

jessica, my scorpion

You can feed your pets, and yourselves. It’s really quite fun. And the pets are oh-so cute. And yes, mine are named after Heroes characters! You will be sure to enjoy dressing your character up.

HKO CB : On A Mac

Friday, April 25th, 2008

For those of you on a Mac, you should know by now that most games aren’t made for Macs, and if they are, it’s a few years too late. I used to go to computer LANs with my tangerine iBook (^_^ i was a 8th grade dork!) and get laughed at. My computer didn’t play Metal of Honor. I just type my HTML.

Anyhow… For those of you who don’t know, get Boot Camp. You need a Core Duo or better, but it’s pretty easy to do. If you have Leopard, Boot Camp comes pre-installed. If you are like me and are cheap and still run Tiger, it is available in Beta form — for now. I have heard this feature will go away.

You can go to support.apple.com for some good guide on this (search : Boot Camp). Some main problems are that sometimes you get the wrong format of hard drive. I had to back up my hard drive, wipe the computer, and re-format my Macintosh hard drive when I re-installed Windows (I went from 15 GBs to 40GBs dedicated to Windows XP.) There is an easier way to do this, and kids in my class know it. I will be sure to ask around.

Playing on a Mac is pretty easy. I play on my MacBook Pro. If you don’t have a mouse - get one. It will help immensely. If not, right click is done by putting TWO fingers on the trackpad and clicking. You can also scroll by moving with two fingers. Also, if you are on a laptop, I suggest leaving your computer plugged in. Windows XP drains my computer like no other.

My MacBook Pro running the HKO client

If you have any questions, you can also ask me directly :) I have to run Windows on my Mac for 3D modeling so I know a decent amount about it. I also have access to two Apple store employees on a daily basis - yay designers who work for Apple to pay for school!
