Instructions

1. Create an original flag using your farm. Choose and plant your seeds strategically so that they grow into plants that form an image. The image could be a Sanrio character or anything to do with Hello Kitty Online.

2. Take a screenshot of the farm when it’s ready. You can take a screenshot by hitting the key “F11”. The image will be stored in your Hello Kitty Online “screenshot” folder located in the directory where you installed the game.  The default path is “C:\Program Files\Sanrio Digital\Hello Kitty Online\screenshot”. 

3. Post it in your blog and send the link to gmeventblog@hellokitty.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  You must complete both these steps in order for your entry to count.

4. In your email submission, please include your HKO character name, the address of your blog, and a brief explanation of your Farm Flag.

5. Players are limited to one entry only, so make sure you have achieved your masterpiece before you send it to us!

Have you ever had pesky little critters pop up in your farm? Moles have always nabbed crops from farms all over Hello Kitty Online, but now things are about to take an unexpected turn! From June 11-13, 2010 participate in HKO Mole Mayhem, a wacky new event unlike any we’ve had before!

Deery Lou has organized an event to help everyone understand how to deal with the naughty moles. The Scarecrows have been turned to Scaremoles, and the towns have been filled with delicious fruits and veggie decorations to celebrate the event. But “someone” was not invited to the festivities, and so he’s planning to mess things up for everyone else!

Defend the cities from massive mole attacks!

A certain “someone” has convinced the great Star Mole leader that the real goodies are not on the farms, but in the cities! So now the moles are on the move, invading city after city, hoping to steal all the fruits and veggies. Only you can protect the civilized world from the great mole horde!

1. 1. The moles have carefully scheduled their daily invasions. A few minutes before each attack, you will be alerted as to which city the moles are planning to invade and who is in charge of the city defense.
   • First invasion      4:00 PM (server time)
   • Second invasion      8:00 PM (server time)
   • Third invasion      11:00 PM (server time)
2. Use your Sunbright Express train ticket to quickly reach the city indicated in the alert. During this event you can use the Sunbright Express as many times as you like free of charge as long as you have a Sunbright Express Ticket. You can get a special Mole Mayhem Ticket from city representatives (see below).
3. Talk to the Sanrio character representative in charge of the city’s defense, and accept the quest offered. The representatives for each city are:
   • Beijing      Deery Lou
   • Paris      Melody’s Grandma
   • London      George
   • Florapolis      Scone
   • Sanrio Harbour      Kappi
4. Once the moles arrive, find all 20 of them scattered around the city map and try to shoo them away. You only have 7 minutes to do so!

The moles are stubborn and will try to overrun a city 3 times before moving on to the next city. Defend each city through all 3 waves of invasion, and you will be rewarded by the grateful population! If the moles succeed, the fruit and veggie decorations will disappear, the moles will retreat with their loot, and you will not receive a reward (but you can try again during the next invasion).

City defense rewards

After each successful defense, all participating players will receive Dream Fragments. These can be used to purchase special buffs from the Party Masters in Sanrio Harbour, Florapolis, London, Paris and Beijing. Having these buffs will definitely prove useful to you as you play Hello Kitty Online. Dream Fragments will not expire, even after the end of Mole Mayhem. Visit the Party Master to find out more about these buffs!

Unlimited Sunbright Express train rides for ticket holders!

You read right! Sunbright Express management wants to do its share help adventurers defend the cities from pesky invaders, so from June 11-13, 2010, all players carrying Sunbright Express tickets can ride the train as many times as they want! If you’re in Sanrio Harbour and the next invasion is in Beijing, just head to the nearest Sunbright Express station and you’ll be there in no time!

Mole awareness quests

During the event, you’ll also be taught about moles by some of the friendly folks in Hello Kitty Online. Learn how to fend off the moles on your farm, and help Sanrio characters as they participate in the mole awareness event.

On the last day of the event, June 13, 2010, Peter Davis will offer a new quest. This is your chance to come face to face with the mastermind of the mole invasion and find out who is the criminal genius behind these events!

The wait is over! Hello Kitty Online returns today, April 21, 2010! We’re kicking things off with a special Earth Day Event that you don’t want to miss!

Existing European players need to make a manual update to their HKO game client. This information applies only to existing HKO players in Europe; all other players should have no difficulty running and updating the game.

If you have the latest version of HKO

(You were able to play up until the April 7 migration)

1. Visit the HKO Download Page
2. Download and run the “Manual Patch Latest Version”. The patch will ask for the location of HKO on your computer.
3. After you have applied the manual patch run HKO and log in as usual

If you have older versions of HKO

(Or you are not sure which version you have)

1. Visit the HKO Download Page
2. Download and run the “Manual Patch Older Versions”. The patch will ask for the location of HKO on your computer.
3. After you have applied the manual patch run HKO and allow the Auto-updater to update your client to the latest version. Note that this process may take a long time depending on your connection speed
4. Once the game has finished updating, log in as usual

If you currently do not have HKO

(Or if you want a fresh installation)

1. Visit the HKO Download Page
2. Download the HKO “European languages servers” torrent (you will need a BitTorrent client, like uTorrent.
3. Once your download is complete, run the program to install HKO
4. Run HKO and log in using your existing account

Join Hello Kitty and her friends in a special Earth Day event on April 22 to April 26, 2010! Earth Day promotes awareness about what we can do to take care of our planet. As the world celebrates Earth Day, there’s trouble in Hello Kitty Online – trouble of a messy kind! Who will save the day?

The Sanrio characters need your help to clean things up and make Earth Day special, so read on to find out more!

The Litterbug

A naughty Litterbug is roaming near Florapolis, dropping piles of litter along its trail. It’s up to you to clean up after it, so gather up the litter from these piles until they’re all gone. You can find the Litterbug walking back and forth between Florapolis, East Florapolis Valley, and South Dream Forest. Form a group with your friends to try to stop the Litterbug in its tracks, and you might be able to take all the litter away from this mischievous bug.

Be sure to keep all the litter you gather! You can give litter to Badtz-Maru for recycling, or give it to KeroKero Keroppi in exchange for cool rewards. The more litter you have, the better your rewards!

Earth Day quests

KeroKero Keroppi, Badtz-Maru and Cinnamoroll are spreading the word about Earth Day. You can find all of them in Sanrio Harbour. Each day they will offer a new set of quests, so check with them and see how you can contribute - they will reward your efforts generously!

The Secret Farm and the XT-Greenifier

The big challenge during Earth Day is hidden in a secret area tucked away in the woods of Sanrio Harbour. The secret area can only be accessed through an entrance beside Badtz-Maru (only available for the duration of this event). The entrance leads to a farm that used to be lovely and full of rare plants, with a greenhouse once renowned for its colorful flowers. Sadly, the entire farm is now covered in trash, and the monsters inside are preventing anyone from cleaning it up.

Badtz-Maru is leading the campaign to restore the farm to its original beauty, and he’s using a special machine called the XT-Greenifier. It needs special items to run, so here’s what you can do to help:

1. Talk to Badtz-Maru and check the list of items that he needs for the XT-Greenifier. Each item is assigned a certain number of contribution points (item value).
2. Gather as many of the items as you can, but try to focus your efforts on items that are worth more points. The item values change every day based on contributions from the previous day.
3. Give the items to Badtz-Maru, and encourage all your friends to do the same.

When enough items have been submitted, the farm will become noticeably cleaner and a surprise will await players in Sanrio Harbour. The more items you give, the faster the XT-Greenifier can finish the job, so hurry before the path to the farm disappears at the end of April 26, 2010!

It will take quite some effort to see this farm cleaned up. Once the farm and greenhouse have been restored, special plants will appear inside. These rare plants yield special seeds that are only available through this event - it just goes to show that if we take care of our environment, it will take care of us too!

Sanrio Digital (the developer of Hello Kitty Online) is pleased to announce a new strategy to self-publish and operate Hello Kitty Online Europe & SanrioTown. This mutual decision was the result of cooperative discussions between Sanrio Digital and Burda:ic GmbH, the formerEuropean publisher of HKO.

On April 7th, 2010, Burda:ic has stopped all HKO service in order to hand over the day-to-day operations of HKO Europe to Sanrio Digital. After a short transition window HKO Europe will reopen on April 21, 2010 under Sanrio Digital management for an Open Beta that will introduce new services and features.

During this beta period the DreamShop item mall will be unavailable.

Users will be able to retain item inventory and their balance of Coins and Sanrio Loyalty Points (for information on how to transfer your Cash Points balance, please click here). The DreamShop item mall will reopen later in April, after the Open Beta Phase.

This transition will bring Sanrio Digital closer to the HKO community and Sanrio fan base in Europe and allow direct management of the game and brand strategy. Players can expect the following:

- European players will receive information and announcements directly from the developer of HKO. Game patches and updates will be delivered from the developer directly to the player.

- Previously, Burda:ic acted as intermediary between Sanrio Digital and the players; after the transition, Sanrio Digital will have a finger directly on the pulse of the European HKO community.

- Centralized one-stop Game Master and Community support in English will be available on April 15th, immediately after the transition, with French and German support to follow.

- All future financial transactions related to HKO will occur between players and Sanrio Digital.

- The goal is to offer a smooth transition. Users will keep their login details, item inventory, email and blog accounts.

- Updated Terms of Service will apply to HKO and SanrioTown after the transition to Sanrio Digital.
