Upon her travels to the Kingdom of her sister-in-law, it seems marriage in Watanabe is no simple task.

While doing some research with her brother, Taiki, she realized that Kaito’s marriage to Ayumi was no easy task. It is the Watanabe Tradition that the engagement between two royals will require gifts to the bride from the groom. He must present her with sets of jewels following the order of 2’s (either 2 sets, 4 sets, 6 sets, etc.)

If the groom were to show off to the parents of the bride, he must give her a minimum of 4 sets of jewelry in 4 different colors: sapphires, emeralds, rubies, and diamonds/pearls. Each set must include a necklace, ring, and a pair of earrings that match. If the bride’s family were to receive this gift, they must also give their gifts to the groom, which are in the form of wristwatches, also in the order of 2’s.

Such is the fate of a Watanabe blood line.

Taiki wishes to follow his brother’s decision in marrying in Watanabe tradition… But he does not have the money to do so as of yet. Knowing this, King Taiki therefore requires his daughters to marry in the same tradition.

It is a wonder, if the 7th child will be able to achieve the same…

One fateful morning, the 7th Child’s third eldest sister, Sachiko-chan came to visit her sister. She decided it was time to teach her youngest sister a lesson about life, and her words, though cruel, were convincing to the 7th Child’s heart.

The world, as they both now it, revolves around money. No matter how much anyone wishes to deny it, people only give their respects to people who are rich.

In a way, the 7th Child begins to think about the things she has done, and the things that she has been doing… Though she doesn’t want to admit it, she knows how much power money can have…

This is why Sachiko-chan is so untouchable to the world… As she will always be. She has a husband who loves her and spoils her with anything and everything she could ever want. It begins to look very tempting to do what Sachiko did… Find someone who is rich, and get married as soon as possible. She has everything she could ever want, and she never has to worry ever again.

So this is the appeal of the rich. Would the 7th Child slip into the same temptation? Who would really know…

There are times when being with Mikoto makes the 7th Child feel like she can conquer the world as long as he is there by her side.

But there are also times that she begins to doubt the sincerity of this angered angel. It pains her to believe his words when his actions are different.

The 7th Child tries so hard to love someone, yet every time she comes too close, she is burned…

She is losing hope that she could ever love, or even continue loving the people she cares for. It seems useless to continue with something that looks pointless. What is the use of fighting a loosing battle? Should you not retreat and rest to fight another day?

Perhaps the real question would be… “What is the definition of love? The one that is real and pure?”

Oh cursed child, born to an unloving world… You’ve lost hope in receiving the love you freely give and so desperately long for… But what is life if you refuse to love?
