ingredients:

cake:

5 eggs

2 glasses of sugar

1 glass of coke

1 tea cup of grated coconut

1 tablespoon of chemical leavening

2 glasses of wheat flour

syrup:

1 can (9,5 fl oz/280ml) of condensed milk

7 fl oz (200ml) of coconut milk

1/2 chalice of cocoa liqueur

2 cans (19 fl oz/560ml) of milk

frosting:

1 bar (2 lbs/1kg) of semisweet chocolate

2,5 cups of hydrogenated fat

preparation

cake:

put the eggs’ glairs in a mixer, until they look like a meringue. join the yolks, one by one, mixing non-stop. then, join the sugar, the grated coconut and the flour. the glass of coke and the leavening come last. keep mixing just enough time so you get an homogeneous mixture. in a coated pan, put the cake in the pre-heated oven for 30 to 50 minutes (check every 5 minutes - stick a fork in it; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready), or until it’s completly baked (the time depends on the oven).

mix all the ingredients from the syrup (heating is not necessary);

when you take the cake out of the oven, take a fork and stick it all around the cake’s surface, so the syrup can penetrate in it. pour the syrup, and make sure that spreads perfectly.

when the cake gets cool, cut it in square pieces (but keep it in the pan!!), and put it in the freezer for a whole day.

at the next day, take the pieces of the cake out of the freezer, and dip each one in the frosting - melt the chocolate and the hydrogenated fat by heating them on a pan.

after dipping the cake in the melted frosting (it gets hard with the cooling process, so take the chocolate pan to the stove and worm it up again when it starts to get cold) put the pieces of the cake on a bowl, and put it in the freezer again, for at least another day.

the cake can be kept in the freezer for 3 months. at the day that you are going to eat it, take it out of the freezer, wrap it in alluminum paper (just for the presentation) and put it in the freezer again, till it’s time to serve. don’t take the cake out of the freezer to soon, ’cause it should be eated frozen.

perfect for parties and special ocasions, and you can make sculptures or compose art works with colorful wrapping around the cake cubes!!

here I annexed some photos from some mine and my brother’s birthday parties, when the marvelous cake-bonbon-ice cream had always being a huge success.
