Giant Hello Kitty Water Fountain

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Hello Kitty & Friends are currently on display in the Lever House Lobby and Plaza in New York from May 8 through September 6.

The bronze cast Tom Sachs creations include a 21 foot Wind-up Hello Kitty, 10-foot My Melody, a 9-foot Crying Miffy fountain, and a 7-foot Crying Hello Kitty fountain.

Their proportions do not really resemble the true Hello Kitty … but I guess it’s cute nonetheless!

Hello Kitty Peace!!! Manga

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Shueisha’s Ribon magazine has announced earlier last week that they will be launching a new manga called Hello Kitty Peace!! in its July issue which will go on sale on June 3.

Manga creator Anzu Momoyama will be creating the title with an eight-page, all-color installment in the issue.

Hello Kitty looks all grown-up on this preview image, wonder what will the manga be all about?

Hello Kitty portable DVD machine

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

Many moms told me that when kids grew older, they would never sit still at the dining table unless you entertain them with video games or cartoon show on a portable DVD machine.

I really don’t want to have to do that one day to Ethan, as I really think the dining table should be for dining, not reading, playing or watching TV for that matter.

But if I really have to buy a DVD machine on the go, maybe I will consider this one - a Hello Kitty portable DVD machine!

Machine measures approx 21×17×4.5cm with a TFT display at 480 × 234 pixels. It provides a 16:9 view with an option to change to 4:3 on demand. Price is a little high at 20,790 yen though!

And I still don’t think we should be watching TV at the dining table (but I just remember we have placed a laptop on our kitchen table now … oops! That gotta GO!!!!!!!)

No more insect bites with Hello Kitty’s help!

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

With summer just around the corner, bugs and insects are set to arrive and attack us any second.  But not to worry, Hello Kitty is here to rescue!

This new Hello Kitty insect repellent machine measures approximately 8.5×6.5×11.5cm and works for about 60 days when used 8 hours a day.  It claims to be ultra quiet and can be hang on the wall or sit on a desk whichever works better for you.

Battery is included and sells for 1,491 yen across Japan.

The panda design is so cute!  Fits perfectly with this year’s China Olympics spirit!

The Adventures of Hello Kitty and Friends

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Meant to write about this while in Hong Kong, but have been so busy meeting friends and family I didn’t get a chance until now!

Anyway, after reading so much about this 3d animation series on Sanriotown, I finally got a chance to see it on TV during our short stay in Hong Kong.  It’s so different to see them speak in Chinese for a change!

For those of you who don’t get the luxury of watching it on TV, you can get a feel of Hello Kitty & Friends speak in Chinese by watching this home video on yahoo:
http://hk.video.yahoo.com/video/video.html?id=484638&pt=v

The baby in this video loves the show, and Ethan seems to love it too when we watched the show together!

The show is called “Hello Kitty愛漫遊” in Hong Kong with the characters speaking in Chinese but singing in English.  Personally I seem to like their voices in English better!

Per TVB.com, this show airs every Sunday at 4:00 pm local Hong Kong time, but it seems like season 1 is now over per the official blog.

I didn’t get to catch much of it during my stay in Hong Kong, hopefully they will be coming to North Amercia soon!

Do you golf?

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

I don’t coz I am scared of getting sun burn from “excsesive exposure to the sun”, but this golf bag that I found while browsing through eBay sure looks cute:

But I think I will still let BaBa use up my golfing quota … hohohoho

My Sanrio Digital Hello Kitty USB Stick : )

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Have been using this for a few days but keep forgetting to write about it.

To test out the featurs, I have created a video on Dream Studio using my other alias on Sanriotown (which I use to write a blog about my life in general) which double as a ‘gift’ for YeungBaBa on our upcoming 2nd Wedding Anniversary.

And apparently a lot of people liked the video and have voted the video as one of the top three entries for the “Love is …” video contest.  So as a runner up, I got a cute USB stick with Hello Kitty’s face on it:

The USB stick is super tiny and the packaging is quite cute - Master Ethan would not resist but keep biting on both whenever he got his hands on them.

And so the USB stick has now been officially water tested - it works even after a 14 months old biting on it!  lol

Hello Kitty + XO x 2008 Beijing Olympics

Monday, March 24th, 2008

We managed to go to Telford Plaza on Saturday to meet a friend and his wife for a nice lunch at Ruby Tuesday before we visit the Hello Kitty + XO Olympics features at the plaza.

The plaza was small and packed but the main feature was amazing featuring a Hello Kitty & Friends “Great Wall”:

Plans for the weekend!

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

Thanks for Miss Pink’s suggestions, we finally have plans for this weekend!

Was chatting with BaBa this morning where to go this weekend coz Shatin, MongKok and APM are probably all too crowded for us to go with Master Ethan … it will probably be quite crowded at this place too, but at least it’s something MaMa will looooooooooooooove to see:

Wonder why I don’t see any advertisement on this event on the MTR the past couple days — Telford obviously was supposed to be a MTR sponsored plaza!

Anyway, my plans for visiting McDull & Friends @ Tsuen Wan has now been changed officially to Hello Kitty & Friends at Telford Plaza this Saturday hehehehehehehehehehe
