In Stone_68’s blog called Stories of a precious Stone,  she talks about staying in Singapore for two weeks, and aside from the happy memories there, she talks about how happy it is seeing her puppy Heidi again!

Heidi has only been with them for 4 weeks, she tells us, and after only 2 weeks of not seeing her, she’s already a little bigger.

Pets are such a wonderful addition to the family, they always add that extra something to the house. Like kids that never grow up, and pick up your mood if you’re feeling down. But have you ever considered that they could save your life?

Stories of dogs saving people are pretty common, but this time we have a story of a parrot saving a family from a fire.

AP reports that when Shannon Conwell and his 9-year-old son fell asleep on the couch, they woke up to find their house on fire. The smoke alarm had sounded, but what woke them up was the family’s Amazon parrot, Peanut, who imitated the fire alarm.

According to Conwell, the parrot was “screaming his head off.” When he realized what was going on, he grabbed his son and Peanut and got out of the house.

We should really appreciate our pets, because not only are they great companions, they may actually save our lives!

It’s almost Halloween, and Babsiluv has a happy post for us called “Halloween Recipe and Safety Tips for Animals.”

She shares with us a simple recipe on how to make “Spooky Edible Spiders”. I for one, am very intrigued, so I might try this myself. I don’t think you can go wrong with the ingredients either, chocolate and marshmallows? Yum!

They say that a good way to get away from the stress and monotony of everyday work is by learning an instrument. I actually play the guitar myself, and though I’m not an expert, I can tell you it really is a wonderful thing to get into.

In fact, the learning process itself is good enough reason to take up an instrument! And here we have two SanrioTown members who are doing just that.

In Tingal79’s blog, she talks about learning the piano, and from the looks of it’s she’s doing pretty well!

Usually people who study piano want to skip the “boring stuff” and get to playing, but this girl isn’t like that. Good for her!

Also, we have Sarah, who is learning to play the mandolin. It’s not a very common instrument, for a not-so-common genre: bluegrass. But she seems very enthusiastic about it as well, and even wants to go on learning the fiddle afterwards.
