Yesterday was Thanksgiving, and I had a blast.
We went out to eat, and where we ate, they had tons of food at buffet tables. I purposely didn’t eat breakfast (our lunch was in the early afternoon) just so I could stuff myself here.
I had pasta (my favorite),  bacon,  cake, chocolate covered Rice Krispie Treats (they had a chocolate fountain!), and strawberries.
Okay, so maybe I didn’t have turkey. I don’t know why, I just don’t like turkey that much. Hey, you don’t have to have turkey to be in the Thanksgiving spirit, right? Last night we had a turkey-decorated cake. I suppose that makes up for dinner.
We are probably going to spend the morning at my mom’s toy store, putting up Christmas decorations. We do that every year at Thanksgiving time.

Hello, my friends. I’ve decided what I want for Christmas this year. A new Victorian dollhouse!
I spent my Saturday terribly, using up my precious time on SAT prep and Algebra…*sigh*.
I cannot wait until Thanksgiving. Though I will probably still be doing schoolwork throughout the long weekend, I love the holiday, especially the great food!
Any of you guys know “SmarterChild”? He’s a chat robot on MSN and AIM. Two days ago, he died. It’s very sad, but after 7  years of service, he has retired.

My Asus EEE PC 900 came in the mail two days ago, but I didn’t have too much time to experiment, so I’ll give you a brief summary of my new laptop.

It was VERY cheap. Around $300, and it even has a camera. That’s WAY cheap for a laptop. But, I still had to save up for a while to get it.

It’s very small, with a 8.5″ screen, and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. The keyboard CAN get a little cramped, but my fingers got used to it.

It runs on Linux, which has its pros and cons.
Pros: most all programs you need are already loaded on here; Linux computers are cheaper; it’s ready to use right out of the box.
Cons: Sims and some other programs don’t have Linux versions.

Since the computer itself is so small, it does not have a built-in CD/DVD drive. So, you’d have to get an external drive to use a disk.

The speakers are on the bottom of the laptop, so if it is sitting in your lap, the sound can get muffled. You could always use headphones if it bothers you that much, or if you want to listen to a lot of music.
The computer has a built-in microphone, too, so you’re ready to use Skype, which is already downloaded into the Linux system.

Definitely, this computer was worth my time and money. I would recommend it to anybody looking for a portable, but useful, notebook computer.

Hello! I thought I’d catch up with you all.

So, the Obamas are picking a school for their daughters, Sasha and Malia. What will they choose, I wonder? Some people say they should go to public school, because it would get the message across that Obama is going to reform the public education system. What do I think about public school for the kids? No way, that would be a poor decision. You would burden the school with Secret Service everywhere, and it would be very hard to secure this school. So, not only are you risking the Obamas’ safety, but you are risking the other students’ safety.
I think they should either be homeschooled, or go to a private school. Why would you risk your child’s well-being just to get a point across? That’s a very immature thing to do.

On a lighter note…
I ordered myself a laptop! I’ve been saving forEVER to get this laptop. It’s the cheapest laptop they sell, pretty much, and even at that, it was on sale. It’s called the Asus EEE PC, and it’s a netbook. Which is…a micro computer. I mean, it’s TINY. It runs on Linux, which has its pluses and minuses. The good things are that it’s cheaper, everything comes pre-installed, and it’s easier to navigate. The bad things are, some programs can’t run on Linux versions, such as the Sims games.
This computer does not have a CD/DVD drive, so if you want to use a disk, you’ll have to use an external drive. This is a bit on the negative size, but if it had a drive, then it couldn’t be so portable and compact.
I can’t wait till it gets here!!!

Again, I’m up early this morning, because of daylight savings. *Yawn*, I couldn’t fall back asleep because it’s so bright outside!

Today is election day! I may volunteer at the polls, but I don’t know.

Can you believe election day is tomorrow? Oh, I wish McCain wins. Then, I’ll be counting down the days until January 20.

I woke up pretty early this morning (because of daylight savings time change). And, I’m hungry, too.

Looks like there’s a My Melody typing game - I’ll try that out soon! Bam, beat 85wpm, 100% accuracy!
