More Greens
Monday, August 6th, 2007Remember the garden shot I posted recently? Here’s a close-up of one of the areas.
I took this around the same time I took the garden shot. Sorry about the date appearing on the upper right hand corner, I wasn’t able to edit it.
I like this one, actually, even if the proportions seem to be weird. Maybe it’s because of the facts that being surrounded by plants calm me down. Funny though, green isn’t particularly my favorite color. Otherwise, I’d be girlingreen and not girlinblue.
Garden
Monday, July 30th, 2007I took this about a year back. This is a part of our garden, probably one of my favorite spots in our house. I had to crop a bit of the right side so that you won’t be distracted with the time and date that appeared by default (I wasn’t using my camera then, so I forgot to get rid of that option on the photo). I love this shot, because the plants looked so green and lush.:) We had a lot of orchids back then, but we lost most of these during one of the freak storms that happen occasionally here.
Psychadelic Sunset
Wednesday, July 25th, 2007This isn’t, strictly, a picture, but since it’s an artsy thing I made, I decided to put it up here.
I made this on the Doodle IMvironment of Yahoo Messenger. Some of my friends play with it when we’re bored, and I I just played around with it while I was talking with one of them. Obviously, my fascination with sunset is still very strong. It’s not all that great, but I do like it, maybe because I had quite a bit of fun drawing it.
Underground Spring
Monday, July 23rd, 2007This is also not really an artsy picture, but I like this because this is one of my comfort zones. I took this in our community center. This may be found at the basement. The water’s actually coming from a natural underground spring. The fish, however, didn’t just appear there.:P
Kitten
Tuesday, July 10th, 2007
This is the stray kitten we took in. She loves hiding behind the shrubs and plants for some reason. When I saw her peeking out of it, I couldn’t resist taking this snapshot of her. She looked so cute, right?:)
Sorry about the low quality, but I used my cameraphone to take the picture.
Fire Tree
Monday, July 9th, 2007I walked around my school campus during the weekend, and I thought I’d have fun and take snapshots of some of the places there. Unfortunately, I only used my cameraphone to take these photos, so some of the pictures have pixelized. The only good thing about it is that some of the pictures ended up looking like paintings instead of photos, because the color looks a bit smudged - check out the top part of this photo to see what I’m trying to explain.
Anyway, this is one of the fire trees in our school. I don’t really know what it’s actually called, but that’s the name we used for these. Actually, this is my favorite plant in the entire campus, because the trees are primarily red and not green this time of the year, which is really pretty. At the time I took the snap, they’re only starting to change color, so there are only a few red parts.
Solitude
Thursday, July 5th, 2007During the recent retreat that I attended, I decided to take a picture of the bed that I was assigned to. The place really had a “retreat” feel, in the sense that it focused more on making you commune with God and His creations instead of the creature comforts we’re accustomed to. While there was airconditioning, the bed (as you can see) was a single kind, the sheets were thin, and there was no TV - something that suited us just fine, knowing why we were there, anyway. While this shot doesn’t look particularly artistic, I actually like it because it seems a little rustic and has a traveling sort of feel into it - not only because the handle of my luggage can be seen, but because the room and bed aren’t exactly personalized - there were no personal items scattered about to say that there’s actually someone who owns the room. Add that with the leaves that can be seen from the terrace, and you have here a photograph that doesn’t look smooth, not by a long shot, but there’s something peculiarly haunting about it.
Flowery Life
Monday, June 25th, 2007During my sister’s engagement party, she had this huge basket of flowers that we eventually took home. I thought it was really pretty and (being the shutterbug that I am) took pictures of it.
This was my favorite photo of the bunch (pardon the pun). Sorry if it got a bit blurred, but I made it a bit bigger to make you all see it better. I love the shade of pink these roses had.:)
6:00 A.M. Morning Sun
Tuesday, June 19th, 2007
Here is one of the sunrise shots I’ve promised earlier. I took this on that retreat I mentioned earlier. I took this using VGA resolution from my digital camera. We were up the hill then, and I had to take quickie shots so I wouldn’t get caught. I was at first saddened that the plants didn’t look green in the image, but when I transferred it on my computer, I realized it made a pretty cool silhouette. What do you guys think of it?:)
