Clear and Unclear

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

http://www.drive.subaru.com/Spr05_OutsideInsight.htm

This is a shot I dream of taking someday. The fog provides the shadow needed to make the shot dreamy, and yet it isn’t thick enough to obscure the tree, whose limbs and leaves can be seen almost perfectly. It’s raw yet so gentle, natural yet so photo-friendly, clear yet unclear. Kudos to the photographer who took this shot (click on the picture to go to the original site, or go here).

Garden

Monday, July 30th, 2007

I took this about a year back. This is a part of our garden, probably one of my favorite spots in our house. I had to crop a bit of the right side so that you won’t be distracted with the time and date that appeared by default (I wasn’t using my camera then, so I forgot to get rid of that option on the photo). I love this shot, because the plants looked so green and lush.:) We had a lot of orchids back then, but we lost most of these during one of the freak storms that happen occasionally here.

Psychadelic Sunset

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

This isn’t, strictly, a picture, but since it’s an artsy thing I made, I decided to put it up here.

I made this on the Doodle IMvironment of Yahoo Messenger. Some of my friends play with it when we’re bored, and I I just played around with it while I was talking with one of them. Obviously, my fascination with sunset is still very strong. It’s not all that great, but I do like it, maybe because I had quite a bit of fun drawing it.

Compare and Contrast

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

One of these days, I would love to take make the first shot similar to the second (which isn’t mine). I’d love to go and take a picture that highlights on one image while making the rest blurry without having to edit the photo. I want to make that object surface, instead of drowning in the background, no matter how busy it might appear to be.

Underground Spring

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

This is also not really an artsy picture, but I like this because this is one of my comfort zones. I took this in our community center. This may be found at the basement. The water’s actually coming from a natural underground spring. The fish, however, didn’t just appear there.:P

Noir Part 2

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

I’m still not feeling particularly chipper, so I decided to put another black and white shot I found over the Internet.

As I saw this as a thumbnail at first, I didn’t immediately notice the couple standing near the middle of the picture. I just wanted a black-and-white shot of some trees, if not woods. Oh well. At least this serves as good as any. I still like the silhouette made by the trees here.

Like most of the pictures that aren’t mine that I post here, just click on the picture to be brought to the original source of the image.

Film Noir Feel

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

I’m feeling kind of moody today, so I decided to put up a picture I found on the net that matches my mood.

It’s a dark alley in black and white. It reminds me of the movies from the genre of film noir. I’ve watched these in film class a few years back, and I actually liked it, maybe because of the dark undertones that the films have. It’s not just about gangsters and such - there’s really an artistic side to it that would appeal to those who are a bit cynical with how they see life.

Clouds

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Normally, I’d be more interested in taking sky photos if the clouds were dark and look as though these might release major rainfall almost immediately. As I was walking a few days ago, however, I saw the strange color combination of the clouds and the skies and decided to snap this photo using my cameraphone. It was quite funny while I was trying to take this photo, because the people were looking at me as though I was some sort of deranged tourist who has never seen the sky before. In truth, I’ve never seen this kind, because the clouds were definitely yellowish, as can be seen in the photo. I wonder what made it go into that strange shade.

Blue, Red, Pink, and Purple

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

I took this while we were in the airport. I can’t remember the reason why we were there, only that we were.:P I love the color of the sky here, because it’s a mix of a lot of colors, but it doesn’t look splotchy or confused. Makes me think that God’s the best painter, because He can mix a variety of colors beautifully.

Kitten

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

This is the stray kitten we took in. She loves hiding behind the shrubs and plants for some reason. When I saw her peeking out of it, I couldn’t resist taking this snapshot of her. She looked so cute, right?:)

Sorry about the low quality, but I used my cameraphone to take the picture.
