I’ve never really been a fan of flowers that are used as bouquets or corsages. For me, the beauty of these can be truly seen when they aren’t literally cut off from their roots and instead allowed to continue to grow instead of being snipped off and have it die in just a few days.

See this lotus? It’s prettier in its natural surroundings than if it was cut off and stuffed in a vase or something. Next to tulips, the lotus is my favorite flower.
