This Anime has been out for a year now and I was only able to get up to speed. I’m an avid Macross/Robotech fan so I thought I deserved to give this a review. The Animation is pretty sick. The integrated CG and traditional animation feels as if its one. The battles are more intense. There’s a love triangle, lots of singing and beautiful bishies. Anyway hit the jump for my review of episode 1.

Okay so because of what happened in the past, (almost annihilated by the Zentraedi) humans are now colonizing every part of the galaxy. They’re now headed towards the center of the Milky Way bound to discover new stuff.

 

I’d never imagine that kids at one of the prestigious schools would have access to this technology. This contraption here enables one to fly and its also an attachment and sort of an escape module if you need to eject from a Valkyrie. Speaking of Valkyrie’s take a look on the pictures below. They’re just awesome!

Makes me want to pilot one. *drools* Anyway, the new Valkyries are meaner, faster and look cooler than ever before. However their new enemies are quite difficult to take down. I’ve seen a Valkyrie unload all its missiles at the thing and it still lives! Check it out below.

Did you see what its doing to that poor Valkyrie? T_T… Anyway unlike older titles of Macross this ones got bishes and lots of ‘em!

And like the old traditional Macross, its got sort of the same formula. A “nobody” guy boards a Valkyrie and saves a would be damsel in distress who later becomes a pop idol. Sounds like Minmei ^^… But its got a twist. There are two singers here, one already popular and the other who hasn’t been discovered yet.
