Non-Hello Kitty fans can skip ahead to the next paragraph as I know how some of you can get. While I’m not a fan of the cutesy feline myself (I know some die-hards even own the Hello Kitty toaster oven or somesuch) I hardly find anything Hello Kitty offensive. I digress… MAC Cosmetics has announced that they will be collaborating with Hello Kitty to release a limited edition range to be launched February 10th. And that’s not all, the cosmetic giant has enlisted various fashion designers including Catherine Malandrino, Herve Leger, Sinha Stanic and Manish Arora to design twenty couture pieces inspired by Hello Kitty. Those pieces will be presented just before the launch on February 5th, a week before the start of New York Fashion Week and auctioned off with the proceeds going to organisations in support of young, upcoming fashion designers (requires registration for further reading).

Remember those frankly jaw-dropping Hello Kitty hospital pictures we showed you last week? Well, not only can you give birth while surrounded by the slightly creepy smiley cat, now you can also have a Hello Kitty wedding. Yes, wedding. For God-knows-how-much, every area of your wedding can be themed around Hello Kitty, with a Hello Kitty pink dress, a Hello Kitty cake, Hello Kitty car, decorations and even life-sized Hello Kittys to stand next to you and your beloved as you walk up the aisle. Apparently, they’re pretty massive in Japan – and we just can’t stop staring at these pictures. What do you think? Too much? Or really rather cute?
