For The Victims of Ondoy

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

I’ve been sorting clothes these past few days to give to the victims of the typhoon Ondoy (international name Ketsana). I can’t believe I suddenly have cabinet space again. Time to let go of a lot of stuff. This is our chance to help. Instead of letting the clothes be eaten by mold and moths, let us share it with those who really need it.

Another super storm Pepeng (international name Parma) has entered the Philippine’s area of responsibility. Reports show that this is going to be a big one. I hope that this storm will not devastate the lives of the Filipinos even more. The Philippines is still fixing the damages done by Ondoy. It’s best to be prepared though. The weather is ever-changing, we really still don’t know what’s going to happen.

For those who want to help, please visit the Philippine National Red Cross site. They are are also accepting Paypal gifts.

Keep on praying and have faith.

yellow ribbonA symbol of pure love…

CORAZON C. AQUINO

A woman not groomed to lead but still placed the whole country in her care. She became the mother of the country. She guided the Filipino people to fight for their rights until they achieved their freedom.

Let us not forget the valuable lessons she has taught us. Let us not forget the sacrifices she gave in order for the country to be free again. Let us not forget her unconditional love for all of us.

President Cory, Mother of Philippine Democracy, thank you! You will always be in our hearts.

A father is someone that
holds your hand at the fair
makes sure you do what your mother says
holds back your hair when you are sick
brushes that hair when it is tangled because mother is too busy
lets you eat ice cream for breakfast
but only when mother is away
he walks you down the aisle
and tells you everything’s gonna be ok

Your Beauty Element is Earth
You are the epitome of a natural beauty. Your look is definitely effortless.
While you shy away from a lot of make-up and accessories, you’re no granola girl either!
You keep your beauty routine simple and clean. You would never cover up your beauty.
And since you use so few products, you can really splurge on the stuff you love.

Happy Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

Friends come and go. A little disagreement or gossip can destroy friendship that has been developed for many years. For those who have lost friends over the years, there’s still a person that you can turn to — your mother. Only a mother is one’s true friend. She will never leave your side regardless of all hurtful words and rebellious acts.

She will cry with you. She will hold your hand and never let go as you fall from any challenge and difficulties that may come your way. She will shield you with her embrace.

Being a mother is the hardest occupation of all. It’s a 24/7 thing, but the rewards are great — love.

MothersDay

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."
- Inspirational sayings by Washington Irving

Goodbye Francis Magalona (1964-2009)

Friday, March 6th, 2009

A great loss indeed for the Philippine music industry. Francis Magalona died at noon today, March 6, 2009 after almost a year of battling cancer.

Photo-9

He died of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. It was actually a surprise after finding out that the King of Pinoy Rap had that kind of disease. We always see him so happy and hyper. He was 44 and had 8 children, all of them still very young. Makes you think that life is so short — so healthy yesterday and dying the next.

We will miss you! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

So many faces, so many races
Different voices, different choices
Some are mad, while others laugh
Some live alone with no better half
Others grieve while others curse
And others mourn behind a big black hearse
Some are pure and some half-bred
Some are sober and some are wasted
Some are rich because of fate and
Some are poor with no food on their plate
Some stand out while others blend
Some are fat and stout while some are thin
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most

Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin’ round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world

Some are great and some are few
Others lie while some tell the truth
Some say poems and some do sing
Others sing through their guitar strings
Some know it all while some act dumb
Let the bassline strum to the bang of the drum
Some can swim while some will sink
And some will find their minds and think
Others walk while others run
You can’t talk peace and have a gun
Some are hurt and start to cry
Don’t ask me how don’t ask me why
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most

Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin’ round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

This special day is not only for lovers. It is a special day celebrating the whole concept of love. It could be for family, for friends, or even for yourself.

Over the years, Valentine’s Day has become a business holiday. Over-priced flowers and gifts, expensive restaurant promos, etc. Not only has it become a money-making scheme holiday, it has become probably the most tiring day of the year. Why? Traffic jams, crowded malls — everyone seems to be outside on this day.

Today, I just spent my Valentine’s Day at home and had my boyfriend over. My mom helped me cooked some food. I even baked cookie dough brownies. Much more practical to have the celebration at home. Hehe. XD

However we celebrate this special day. Let us not forget to always show our love to the people close to us. With every single day that passes, love should grow.

Mamegoma

Monday, February 9th, 2009

I adopted a cute Mamegoma (means "bean seal") from one of the Sanriotown users. I named him Spoink. He’s a bit plump and loves to eat. He’s in the 5th slide. XD Thank you very much dkny_donnakarinnewyork for letting me adopt him.

Check out the video and adopt one today. More Mamegomas are still looking for loving owners. :D
