More on Mineral Make-up

Wednesday, August 1st, 2007

The first brand of mineral make-up I stumbled upon was ID Mineral Bare Escentuals. I’ve been seeing it in fashion magazines like InStyle. Since I have sensitive skin and I love make-up so much, I was curious about it, but we don’t have stores here that sell that particular brand.

A few months ago at a bazaar, I saw a brand called Luminare. That was my first try with mineral make-up and I love it so much!

It’s true what they say about it, it’s so economical. A little would go a long way. Also, users will not have to keep on re-touching since it stays on the face not like other make-up that eventually “falls off” around the middle of the day.

When using mineral make-up, keep in mind that “less is more.” You’ll notice that when you buy, it’ll come in small amounts. You only need a few strokes from a decent brush (usually a kabuki brush) in order to achieve the desired results. Also, when applying, the more you use, the more it gets dark on your face or eyelids. So, be always aware of the amount you are applying on your face.

Now, I have tried the Bare Escentuals Tinted Mineral Veil, and all I can say is, “It’s perfect!” It gives that natural, sun-kissed glow on ones face. Perfect for all skin types and complexion.

I can’t wait to discover more about this wonderful cosmetics line. There are actually more and more brands appearing that specialize in mineralized formulas. Mineral make-up really is a life saver for those who love make-up but have sensitive skin.

Mineral Make-up Mania

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

With our exposure to harmful pollutants in our daily lives, our skin tends to react, usually ranging from redness to itchiness. For some people, they already avoided using make-up since the harmful ingredients in it just adds up to the discomfort caused by exposure to weather and harmful elements. It’s not totally a sad situation wherein one will not be able to try using cosmetics and make-up due to skin reaction and sensitivity, there’s now a solution to that.

Cosmetics and make-up developers have been working around the clock in order to address the needs of women with regards to the issue of skin sensitivity. With the advent of “mineral make-up,” prayers from all over the world have been answered.

Mineral make-up, unlike the traditional make-up that we know about, is based on a hypoallergenic loose powder that naturally nourishes the skin, contains no perfumes, talc, alcohol, dyes, mineral oil or preservatives. It actually brings out the natural beauty of the users. Some brands that specialize in this area are Young Blood and Bare Escentuals.

It’s perfect for those with sensitive skin, and also for those who want to avoid problems which is usually caused by traditional make-up like acne, clogged pores, allergies, dryness and even wrinkles. Also, mineral make-up is supposed to enhance and strengthen ones skin.

Another good thing about mineral make-up is that it doesn’t feel like wearing a mask when applied on since the texture is lighter and different. As experts said, even with more coverage, you’ll see a more natural and translucent radiance, and more of your skin, which can breathe. One can actually sleep in it!

It not only makes one beautiful, mineral make-up also serves as protection against the sun. Zinc-oxide is one of the ingredients and it offers a natural UVA-UVB protection. Some brands also add sun protection factor to their line-up.

In summary, mineral make-up makes skin look and feel better. Gone are the days wherein make-up is used as a means to hide imperfections. Cosmetics has now become an agent that promotes both healthy and beautiful skin, thanks to mineral make-up.
