Hamburgers For Everyone!

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

burger It’s everybody’s favorite food — HAMBURGERS! Depending on your body shape, there’s a matching burger for you. At least we can still get to eat one regardless of our body types. XD

YOUR SHAPE: Apple - you gain weight around your midsection.
EAT: Soy patties. The protein lowers the risk of heart disease, a concern for your shape.
TIP: Boost flavor with vitamin-rich onions or mushrooms.

YOUR SHAPE: Pear - extra weight lands mainly on your hips.
EAT: Veggie patties, the ideal low-cal, no-fat choice.
TIP: A side salad with beans ups protein and fiber intake.

YOUR SHAPE: Banana - you’re naturally thin.
EAT: Turkey patties. High protein repairs muscles and fuels up active, slim types.
TIP: These patties are often mixed with skin and dark meat. Swap half the bun for nutritious veggies to keep flab in check.

YOUR SHAPE: Avocado - extra pounds spread evenly over your curvy figure.
EAT: Lean-beef patties. Relatively high fat and protein content keeps you full and energetic longer.
TIP: Pile on tomatoes - the vitamin C helps absorb the iron in beef.

Beat the Heat!

It’s so hot these past few day…not just hot…it’s humid!!! @_@ I really dislike the heavy air.

Just to cool things off, check out these pictures. These were taken when I went to Macau last March.

BMW Art Appreciation Night

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Erk! These event posts are so late. @_@ Sorry, I’m too lazy to retrieve photos from my camera. LOL!

My dad and I attended an Art Show last April 23, 2009 at the BMW showroom in Libis. Got to meet and chat with renowned glass sculptor, Ramon Orlina. Other art featured in the showroom were from popular artists: Ivan Acuna and Michael Cacnio.

Great works of art!

Takoyaki Rave!

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Been wanting to post about this for ages!

TAKOYAKI!!!

Yup! I’m addicted to it. Hehe.

What is Takoyaki anyway? It’s fried or baked octopus balls. We have some Takoyaki stalls here in Manila, but most of them don’t use authentic octopus. I still love eating them anyway!

When I was in Hongkong last March, I was able to try the one with real octopus! XD Yummy! I couldn’t finish the whole order since they were so big. I like the katsuobushi (fish shavings) on top, it moves around because of the heat, they’re kinda alive because of the swaying movement. Hehe.

Le Souffle Adventure

Friday, January 30th, 2009

For a change, I’ll post something not related to make-up. This is a lifestyle blog after all so I can still post about…*drum roll*

FOOD!

LOL! XD

I attended a wedding last Saturday, January 24, 2009. It was the wedding of the brother of my friend. He and his girlfriend has been together for like 10 years! Anyway, they had the reception at Le Souffle located at Rockwell. (Tingal! We’ve been talking about this restaurant for quite awhile and now I finally got to eat there! XD)

They served shrimp bisque soup and homemade bread for starters. I wasn’t able to take a picture since I was really, really hungry. XP For some of the late comers, they served pumpkin soup. (Dang! I should have asked for that one, too since I really love pumpkin soup.)

Next on the menu are some mixed greens and walnuts, with a choice of French Cream dressing or Raspberry Vinaigrette.

Before we can even finish our salad, another bowl came in. PASTA!!! I don’t know what it’s called, but it had a lot of seafood in it. Yummy!

More bowls came in with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. When they served those, we pretty much had an idea what they were going to serve as the main dish…Yup! Roast Beef! No pictures of the roast beef though since all of us attacked the serving dish when they brought it in. Hehehe.

Another all-time favorite is the Chicken Cordon Bleu with Lemon Butter Sauce.

Wait! There’s more. I always make room for dessert no matter how delicious the main course was. They had Mango or Banana Jubilee. I chose Mango.

Here’s some Crepe Suzette.

And of course, Chocolate Souffle! There was also another plate of homemade chocolates. Delicious~~~

Those sure were a lot of food. We were seated in a table for 10, and we were only 5 girls there. We sure were a bunch of hungry girls! XD
