Murad Vitamin C Home Facial Kit

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

We’ve always wanted to go to the facialist and dermatologist to pamper our skin but didn’t have the time to do so. Eventually, we made our own beauty regimen based on what we have read in magazines, friend feedback and just plain impulse buy.

Before cluttering our vanity desks with beauty products we don’t even need, let’s see first what our skin needs. Basically, our problem is environmental exposure and aging.

I think this is just one of the beauty products that we should have and we can forget about some. It’s a weekly treatment for environmentally caused skin aging, reverses damage, provides instant hydration, and restores youthful clarity.

It increases skin clarity, brightness, and firmness thanks to a blend of pure vitamin C that infuses powerful antioxidant protection to rejuvenate and protect against free radical damage; retinyl palmitate that encourages rapid cell renewal to reveal a brighter complexion; and glycerin and beta carotene that condition instantly, leaving skin soft and smooth.

So simple to use, we can do our own facials at home. The set includes four Vitamin C Treatment Powder packettes, four Pure Vitamin C Treatment Gel packettes, .5 oz. Cellular Replenishing Serum, one mixing tray, and one fan brush.

Bare Escentuals Skin Revival Night Treatment

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Stress and harsh weather conditions are the major enemies of our skin. So we do a lot of beauty regimens just to protect our skin. It is unavoidable though to see red areas, broken capillaries, small wrinkles, etc. Remember, along with beauty comes protection and prevention.

This Bare Escentual’s groundbreaking, minerals-based night time treatment is the first of its kind with clinically proven skin-renewing benefits. The exclusive blend of 100% pure RareMinerals, derived from untouched virgin soil and in potent powder form, is the perfect nutrient carrier for vitamins A and C and a host of botanical extracts.

Naturally activated by your own skin, it effectively yet comfortably delivers benefits such as visibly reduced lines and wrinkles, reduced sun damage, more refined pores, brighter complexion, softer, smoother texture, less noticeable redness, and clearer and firmer-looking skin. Containing no preservatives and zero irritants whatsoever, it’s ideal for all skin types, even the most sensitive.

Tarte Ready, Set, Glow Kit

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

All make-up brands are really notorious for making the most tempting sets ever. We know very well that we don’t need that many (or so we think) and that we’re only forced to buy because of the low price and bonus items.

Here’s what Tarte has been using to tempt women~

From lids to lips, cheekbones to collarbones, this scintillating set offers everything you need to get ready for a big night out. What more can you ask for?

The set includes a Mini Cheek Stain in Tipsy (sheer shimmery peach), a full-size double ended Lipgloss in Elle & Emmett (sparkly pink and lilac), a full-size Rest Assured Brightening Wand, a Mini Glistening Powder in Sugar Daddy (sparkly champagne), and a full-size Powder Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess (light bronze).

Escada Moon Sparkle

Monday, January 14th, 2008

I like majority of Escada scents. Unfortunately, I can’t stick to just one scent since they only have a limited run everytime they release a new one. Also, over the past few years, Escada loves to release scents that matches the season, but after a few months the scent is no longer suitable for the season. So the bottle of perfume usually just ends up at the back of the vanity shelf.

This time though, they have something that I believe will be loved by a lot of users all year round: Escada Moon Sparkle.

Evoking memories of hot summer party nights filled with a sexy, magical intensity where anything is possible, Moon Sparkle for Women is the essence of summertime. Captured here, to be enjoyed year round, is an luscious mix of irresistible sweet red fruits and delicate florals, infused by a sensuously smooth base of creamy woods.

I can already smell it by just reading the description. I’d better go to the mall soon and find out for myself how it really smells. Oh no, I have a feeling if I do that, I’ll be going home with a bottle.

Scent Notes include: Strawberry, Blackcurrant, Citrus Cocktail, Red Apple, Sweet Pea, Freesia, Jasmine, Rose, Raspberry, Musky Notes, Sandalwood, Dry Amber.

Cosmetics Shelf Life

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

If there is one thing women simply refuse to throw out, it’s make up. Even if it’s a lipstick they haven’t worn for two years or a fragrance that hasn’t seen the light of day this century, we just have to keep them.

But why? Besides the fact that we’ll never use them again, cosmetics do have an expiry date just like food. Indeed some foods will last considerably longer than many forms of make up.

But if you are still reluctant to throw your old war paint away, think of it this way - the more you get rid off, the more space you create for new additions.

Here’s a list of cosmetics shelf life:

Mascara: 3-6 months

Moisturizers: 3-12 months

Foundation: 12 months (oil-free), 18 months (moisturizing, cream or compact)

Powder: 2 years

Concealer: 12-18 months

Blusher: 2 years (powder), 12-18 months (cream)

Eyeshadow: 2 years (powder), 12-18 months (cream)

Eyeliner and lipliner: 2 years

Lipstick: 2 years

Fragrance: 18 months

*Note: Makeup will last longer safely if you clean your tools (brushes, applicators, sponges). And never share makeup. Dirty tools and sharing will contaminate your makeup with bacteria.
