Protect Your Skin Against the Cold
Skin care is totally seasonal, just like your wardrobe. In summer, you’re busy with sun protection and self-tanners, while in winter you may seem addicted to moisturizers because your skin gets so dried out and flaky.
Why the dry skin in winter? Cold weather combined with the heating in buildings destroys the lipid layer that keeps the skin from drying out.
Moisturize is the the key to soft, supple skin in winter. Apply it after you shower when skin is slightly moist. This locks in moisture. You need to moisturize at least one time a day, perhaps two.
Don’t just focus and your face, pay attention to your lips, hands, feet…your entire body! Always carry with you the essentials like lip balms, hand creams, oil free moisturizers, etc.
Remember to exfoliate as well in order to renew the skin. Dead skin cells can also cause pimples! So it’s not only in during summer when one can experience skin breakouts, but in the cold seasons too.
In the same way that the heat is no longer our skin’s friend, so is the cold. We should always protect and take good care of our skin all year round. That’s why we have those wonderful beauty items we can splurge on!
