Hello Kitty Online - first impressions
Saturday, October 11th, 2008So to me, it just seems like a very stripped down version of other mmorpg’s. For me, that’s not such a bad thing. Too much stuff can bog me down and confuzzle me. ^^”
There are certainly enough quests to keep one going, but one problem about them is that they’re mostly all the same. Collect 30 of X item, bring it back, then collect 30 more of something else! All right, I think either the number should be reduced, or make it easier to collect 30 (I don’t want to pick up 25 fragmented branches when I’m trying to pick up 30 short sticks, please) or add more variety to the quests.
Combat is very lacklustre. Maybe combat isn’t the focus of Hello Kitty Online, but when I’m trying to collect things from Boars or Starfish or Spiders…I want to be entertained. I don’t want to click on something, hope I don’t die or get mobbed by three (billion) spiders and die faster. What I’m asking for is combat skills. Area of Effect skills would be useful against those creatures that gang up to attack you.
Some of the quests don’t make sense! Why would I want to do a quest to give me an axe if I have to buy the axe to be able to do the quest! Rubbish =.=”
I’ve mainly been enjoying my time in Hello Kitty Online because of the PEOPLE. This is one area that HKO excels in. Everybody is just so damn nice to each other. Obviously this is because HKO attracts a different crowd to many other mmorpg’s. But it’s a nice thing. I can ask someone a question and expect a decent, respectful response, not “ZOMFG noob read the MANUAL LOLOLOL”. So thanks everyone =D
