Today my mom and Micheal came to visit for the first time since I moved in on August 18, 2010! Today really was a great day. While they were here, we both went down to Taste Of Asia to celebrate our get-together. Here are some of the Taste Of Asia eats that we had:
Taste of Asia
Thai Green Curry
The Thai Green Curry was quite a hit! My mom and Micheal absolutely loved it! Delicious Green Curry served over sweet-smelling Jasmine Rice.
My mother and I
Nigiri Sushi- the taste of Japan! I have to say, this was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had outside of Japan, very good quality. I definitely went all out for sushi-maguro, unagi,
One of Thailand’s national dishes! For weeks, I have been craving Pad Thai-Rice noodles sauteed in Thai Sweet and Sour Sauce with jumbo shrimp, spring onion, bean sprouts, and ground peanuts. This was just too good!!
A fresh, delicate favorite!
All in all, I had a super great day! I definitely needed a day like this- to see the happy faces of my mom and Micheal, eat authentic asian cusine (a break from cafeteria food!). I am really looking forward to doing this again in the near future. After spending the afternoon out for some fun, I spent the rest of the evening working on various assignments. I also attended our weekly Resident Hall Association Meeting tonight. I find it quite interesting that we will be starting “Sundaes on Sunday”- we will now be having an ice cream sundae bar on Sunday nights at Buskirk!
