I am an Iglesia ni Cristo member.

I was born in the church and held various offices including choir member, Sunday school teacher, secretary, and others. However, recently I started to question not so much the teachings in the scripture, but rather the interpretation of the biblical meanings, and the decision making process of the church in general.

I have been to various local nationwide and overseas and observed (since I’m highly observant) wide ranges of variation in the way things are done and decided. The church has gotten so colossal and gained international church recognition that I felt it has undergone some sort of mutations from the original founded church, and this is usually what happens when an organization expands in numbers and members: there is no consensus over doing things, that is, each local makes judgment according to the number of people favoring a certain action, then it gets submitted to the district office, then to the central. Those who oppose simply kept quite; the administration does not investigate; it accepts whatever recommendation of the district or locals and it’s not uncommon for lords over lords to say “do not question, just follow” and I heard this comments many times.

My reaction to this is “a blind leading a blind” and both of them needed to be saved. There are no checks and balance over how things are done rather there is a struggle or even “kissing ass” just to get things done, but it criticizes the doctrines of other faiths. Is this of God?For example, the indoctrination process changed over the years, wasn’t this a man made decision? nowhere in the scripture tells you that you have to wait a certain period of time to become a member of some religious organizations.

I believe that one is free to worship as he or she pleases and sees appropriate because as human beings we are creation of men—sinners in thoughts and actions–yet the church doesn’t seem to understand this. Another issue I’m grappling with is the problem of unity, it seems that the church wants a total control of its members, not allowing them to exercise their constitutional rights over issues that impact the members. It seeks to secure its interest over godly teachings? Finally, there is religious persecution that exist within the organization, again as a result of being lords over lords, and yes corruptions do exist. At one time I had hard time believing, but the one who told was a member of the finance committee, and told me who, what, and how much few people were receiving. Fortunately, there is a separation between church and states because I find many of its teachings go against the constitutional rights of the citizens of the land.

I am an insider, so I know how are things are performed. I find the fanatics severely “brain washed” and caused many others to be “brain washed” as well.

What many members would like to see is the reporting of the church financial statements, just like the practice of the Jehovah witness, that is report how much was collected and how much was spent.

I realized that finally, an INC member got some of my point… kudos to you Holy Man, hope you are one of the INC members that can “revolutionize” the exisiting church into its former glory…

What is on my mind right now is not having a change of governance but as to endure the her last two years of reign. I’d rather sacrifice those two years under her rather than having the next two years under someone who has the uncertainty to govern plus the inability to speak the second most spoken language on planet earth: English.

It has been a year… and I shall continue…

Mon Nov 5, 2007 12:26 PM HKT

Manila, Philippines - A church group suspected to be behind the troubles of a justice who failed to get appointed as Supreme Court justice surfaced lately.

According to Victor C. Agustin, columnist of Manila Standard Today, the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ) finally surfaced as the group that was behind Gregory S. Ong’s failure to get appointed as Supreme Court (SC) justice. In his column titled, Cocktales, Agustin described this church group as powerful that they would not stop there.

Sandiganbayan Justice Gregory Ong failed to make the appointment because of an unresolved citizenship issue. Agustin said that the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) even wanted Ong removed from Sandiganbayan, an anti-graft court where he sits now.

Agustin wrote, “The powerful Iglesia Ni Cristo has come out in the open not only to prevent Sandiganbayan Justice Gregory Ong from being appointed to the Supreme Court but also to have him unseated from the anti-graft court.” Accordingly, the petition was filed by the lawyer of this group who belongs to the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

The petition to disqualify Ong from the Sandiganbayan, is now pending in the Pasig Regional Trial Court. It was filed by lawyer Ferdinand Topacio, counsel of the Iglesia.

Agustin intimated that Justice Ong had convicted a brother-in-law of the Iglesia’s Executive Minister by the name of Victor Danao, a military colonel.

As described by Agustin, Ong allegedly “caught the ire of the Iglesia hierarchy after the Sandiganbayan justice convicted military colonel Victor Danao, husband of Pilar Manalo, who happens to be a sister of Iglesia Executive Minister Eraño Manalo.” Pilar, said to be the daughter of Felix Manalo, first executive minister of the church group, is known to have composed the songs for the Iglesia.

Meanwhile, the INC’s clout in government is found in their much-touted practice of block voting. Not only does the incumbent Philippine president have the backings of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, but those before her including senators and congressmen who curry their favor come national elections.

Agustin said Lawyer Topacio is being helped in his legal research by a number of Iglesia lawyers in his oral arguments scheduled before Judge Leoncio Janolo Jr.

Being a Sandiganbayan justice, Ong was among the contenders for the position to a vacant slot in the Supreme Court like Court of Appeals Presiding Justice Ruben Reyes, Court of Tax Appeals Presiding Justice Ernesto Acosta, Labor Secretary Arturo Brion, CA Justice Edgardo Cruz and Sandiganbayan Justice Francisco Villaruz Jr. In July, this year, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo appointed Court of Appeals Presiding Justice Ruben Reyes as Associate Justice to the vacant slot.

Earlier it was reported by Aries Rufo of NewsBreak (02/08/2007) that appointed SC justice Ruben Reyes had the backing of the Iglesia ni Cristo and another church group. Reyes turned 68 last January 3, has only one year and two months to serve in the Tribunal before the compulsory retirement of 70.

The non-appointment of Gregory Ong to the high court is more than just the issue of his citizenship, an evangelist has charged recently. More so, the threat of his being removed from the antigraft court.

According to Eliseo Soriano, the un-warranted influence of the Iglesia Ni Cristo in the affairs of the government is to instill fear among the justices so that they will not meddle with the affairs of the INC.

Saying he admires Justice Gregory Ong for his partiality in judging cases and his courage in carrying out his task, Soriano said Ong has the backing of his congregation, the Church of God, International, more popularly known as Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path). “Tell Justice Ong to carry on. We are all behind him.” Soriano said through live telecast from the United States before thousands of his followers.

Soriano is a Filipino evangelist now preaching overseas and leads a world-wide congregation of about 4 million. His congregation is all the more growing geometrically with weekly baptisms in thousands in the country and abroad as far as Africa, despite persecutions. Soriano was forced to leave the country for open threat on his life.

Ang Dating Daan as a program had been suspended many times by the Movie and Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB) under the Office of the President of the land for reasons related to the INC. Soriano had been attacking INC beliefs, particularly calling Christ a man, tithing regulations, and falsified history. At one time, one reason for the suspension of the program was Soriano’s calling the church-group, “Iglesia Ni Manalo” (church of Manalo) which the group resented.

UPDATE: Manila Times Jomar Canlas reported today that the judge handling this case, Judge Leoncio Janolo Jr., has been penalized by the Supreme Court because of the “delays in resolving cases.” He was fined P11, 000 ($250).

I featured a certain Rizalino Arrabis on my last post. I thought that he was the one so “intelligent” (sic) enough to explain things about the INC and contradict (in a nice and educated manner) my or other’s posts and comments. The hell I thought wrong.

I never expected that Mr. Arrabis is such an Orc-p.s.-ing dork. He (or she - judging by the way it talks like a cigar-stuffed deranged grandma)even flooded me with comments that were so spaced out off topic, only to find out that he was referring to another site.
Now Mr. Arrabis (or Mr. Cannabis), don’t you know how to read? maybe you are too old for the internet that you mistook this blog for a news article. Hell like the INC are so freaked out when someone criticizes them, it shows that they are not a religion, but just a bunch of i’ll mannered fanbois.

I was in grade five when I first realized that a lot of people were persecuting the Iglesia Ni Cristo for I had several classmates then who were members of the said group. They were subjected to jeers and mockery in the presence of teachers and parents without them lifting a finger to stop the abuse. My classmates then were being shouted at even in public. All of my I.N.C. classmates were my best of friends because they behaved quite different if compared to others of the same age and grade.
My father, who was a public school teacher, and grandfather then would always coax me not to mingle with troublemakers in school. This was the reason why I chose my I.N.C. classmates as my playmates and lunchmates. They were so nice to me especially during lunch for I end up eating several delicacies for we shared our food together. In return, I gave them protection from the bullies who did the abuses for it was apparent to me that these people were not doing anything wrong. They were just behaving within the standards of society. I did not become their classmates in high school for they stopped schooling because of poverty. Yet, the friendship was still there because on my way to school and back, I would sometimes see them giving pasture to their farm animals. Whenever such occasion arises, I always depart from my conversations with them with a happy smile for my bonding never ceased with the passage of time. Sometimes, I would be bringing home lots of fruit for they never stopped doing their hospiatality to me.
A few years later, I went to the United States to join the Navy and without knowing it, my bonding with the I.N.C. members continued. As an expatriate longing for friendship, it became clear to me that my best optionwas to befriend the I.N.C. community. For it’s them who will offer their unsolicited help like rides to work for free without asking something in return. It’s them who acted like your father, mother, brothers, and sisters in the absence of your real ones. What more can I say?
I went to Japan for a permanent change of duty station. This is where I became an Iglesia Ni Cristo. For why should I resent them? Why should I reject their teachings? From the solemnity and discipline of their worship services, true teachings, spirit of brotherhood, unity in faith, etc., etc., I never found one that is offensive to my sound judgment. It deals purelywithin the confines of a true christian church and with the gospel preached by the prophets, apostles, and Jesus Christ.
Perhaps, because of my longing to see my province, Cebu, I would oftentimes reminisce of my past and I always think of my Iglesia Ni Cristo classmates even in my dreams. They seemed to be the same. They appeared to me as if we were still in our elementary years. The elements of innocence, hospitality, playfullness, and brotherhood are still so prevalent in their actions. And one day, I had to go home for my father died, a victim of the same people who abused my classmates. I had to go home after thirty two long years of being away.
The abuses to my classmates were also done to my father. The skeleton of a soon-to-be chapel then of the Iglesia Ni Cisto in my town was destroyed by bullies headed by a town policeman. The same policeman raped two women while in jail for trump-up charges and I know that my father was in pain when he died. Someday, justice will come for not everyone is sleeping. Woe unto those who thought that they had escaped punishment. Poetic justice had come for the policeman was allegedly killed by a sparrow unit of the New Peoples Army. I call that as the irony of justice. During the wake, my Iglesia Ni Cristo classmates were present and we hugged one another as bothers-in-christ. The emotions were mixed and though sadness was in the air because of the demise of my father, still the atmosphere of happiness was not lacking. For why would you not laugh in the presence of your dear classmates and loved ones? Why not laugh when your past glory is being replayed through the recollections of your classmates? Why would you not laugh in the presence of your brothers-in-christ? I just felt that I am a son who lost his father but found everything
worthwhile in my classmates, my brothers-in- christ. My classmates are now well-off in life. I did not rent any vehicle during my stay in Cebu. A car was provided to me free of charge. Even when we visit the famous resorts of my hometown, Daanbantayan, Cebu. I am still their classmate, friend, and brother. I will always treasure them for without them, I am nothing but a lost soul. Give love then to the Iglesia Ni Cristo. Just listen and go with them. You have nothing to worry but the ignorance and fanaticism of the centuries imposed by invaders in search of gold and silver.

el_critique: (Another surefire blog entry from Josepherdon)

(-email from an INC Member 8/9/2006 5:08PM)
The Treaty Of Versailles.
…..Four of the greatest political leaders of the world at that time- Woodrow Wilson, president of the United States, Lloyd George, prime minister of Great Britain, Clemenceau, premier of France and Orlando, premier of Italy-dominated the Versailles conference. They were known as the Big Four (World History p. 860)
The nations at war: A current history p. 8).

I took the liberty to interpret the long explanation above and made a
comparison with the actual SEQUENCE OF EVENTS of historical and biblical events.

A simple diagram, a great deception
there are so many wrong about INC claim to fame for their angel Felix Manalo.
Let me enumerate some of them
INC is claiming that the INC “officially started when they registered their sect on July, 27, 1914″
1. So INC had UNOFFICIAL members that was baptized by Felix Manalo during the late 1913?
2. So the preaching made by Felix Manalo during the late 1913 was unofficial?
3. Felix Manalo was an UNOFFICIAL angel/preacher until he decided to register INC on July 27, 1914?
4. What are the implications of being unofficial to INC?
5. INC is claiming that the official registration of INC coincides with the start of WW1.
INC was registered July 27, 1914 <> (not equal) WW1 started July 28, 1914
THE BIG FOUR
Prime Minister David Lloyd George (UK)
Vittorio Orlando (Italy)
Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau (France)
President Woodrow Wilson (USA)
-The Big Four was formed AFTER the war
-The Big Four had different religion which Felix Manalo and INC considers as apostates
-Woodrow Wilson(USA) is a Presbyterian,
David Lloyd George(UK) is affiliated
with the Disciples of Christ
Felix Manalo is baptized as catholic
6. Felix Manalo started preaching way BEFORE the emergence of the the BIG FOUR?
the events should be in sequential right?
7. How did Felix Manalo was able to “cried with a loud voice” to the BIG FOUR?
was Felix Manalo present when the Paris Peace Conference was held on the year 1919?
there are a lot more questions, even excluding the Revelations 7:4 from Revelations 7:1-3 is really a big question for INC false claims. But by simply looking at the
crossing paths of SEQUENCE OF EVENTS in the diagram, there is no way that Felix Manalo is the angel stated in Revelations 7:2.
Even INC’s Pasugo is now denying their claim that Philippines is the Far East which contradicts they’re early publication on Pasugo.

Unbiblical Beliefs

Vehemently oppose the Biblical revelation of the Triune God.

Believes in the absolute oneness of God the Creator in the Person of the Father.

Believes the Son as the literal Word (which has no pre-existence) who became man. He was given power by the Father to do supernatural miracles. He is not God.

Believes in an impersonal Holy Spirit, a power sent by the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is not God but one of the spirits sent by God.

Believes the Father (Creator) and Son (creature) must be worshipped. The Son must be worshipped because the Father says so.

Believes a person must hear the “gospel” from authorized INC messengers and INC ministers. They are the only ones who have God’s Holy Spirit in order for them to understand the Bible.

Believes the official name of the church is “Iglesia ni Cristo” while other names are not.

Believes a person must be a member of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), be water baptized, follow the church rules (must avoid the eating of “dinuguan,” avoid joining labor unions, avoid court sessions, do block voting, be under compulsory church attendance, practice giving to the church) and perform his good deeds as an INC member in order for him to be saved.

Believes Felix Y. Manalo is the fulfillment of Isaiah 43:5-7; 46:11, and Rev. 7:2-3 prophecies.

They also believe in “soul sleep,” a belief that at death, the souls dies. There is no consciousness. (A belief of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church - Ellen G. White).

How to Start a Conversation with an Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) Member

First, you can place a Christian tract on top of his working table or hand it to him personally. If he/she is a zealous I.N.C., he/she will be the one to open up the door of conversation.

Methods of Witnessing to an INC Member

Pray that the Lord will open a door for a spiritual conversation between the both of you.

Suggest a topic for both of you to discuss preferably on essential teachings (e.g. deity of Jesus Christ, Salvation, Authority, etc.). Do not dwell on peripheral issues such as the eating of “dinuguan”, tithes, manner of clothing, etc. for these cannot contribute to a person’s salvation.

Always bear in mind that when an INC says “God” what he has in mind is always the “Father.” Therefore do not ever say to him, “I will prove to you that Jesus is God” because you have just said, “I will prove that Jesus is the Father.” Rather say, “I believe the Scripture not only tell us that Jesus has the nature of ‘man’ but also has the nature of ‘God’ as well. Could we check that out?”

Always say, “The INC authorities said…” rather than “You said…” to avoid offending the person you’re talking to. This will also prevent him from building more walls against the gospel.

Whenever the INC member quote a passage supporting their set of beliefs do not just jump to another passage to prove your point. Rather, explain first the context of the passage he just quoted before proceeding onto another supporting verse–do this only when you feel that he has fully understood your explanation. Remember “the Scripture supports each other and does not contradict one another.”

Always throw a set of question so that he could think it over. Like this example below:

Christian: Who are you expecting to come during the last day? Is it the Father or the Son?

INC: The Son (If he says “the Father” then you can point out Rev. 1:7 and ask him, “Who is the One coming with the clouds that was “pierced?” Surely it doesn’t mean the “Father” for according to the INC’s doctrine, He is “Spirit” in John 4:23)

Christian: Now Who is the One speaking in Rev. 1:8 about Him being “the Alpha and the Omega… who is who was and who is to come, the Almighty?”

INC: Well the One speaking is the Father, of course.

Christian: But wait, haven’t you told me awhile ago that in verse 7 the One coming with the clouds is the Son. Then why did you understood verse 8 as the Father talking since it says very clearly “who is to come, the Almighty?”

You can also ask him, “Are you willing to go to hell just because of someone else’s false teachings? Surely you won’t get the INC ministers to be your advocate when you face God on the day of judgment. Can you?” And if he says “Of course not!” Then you can say, “That’s right! Even I do not depend on someone’s else’s preaching, rather I investigate and study it myself.”

Before parting ways, ask permission if you can pray for him. If not, then lift him up in prayer during your private moments with God.

Things to Remember Before Witnessing to an INC Member

Be sure to know his theology first before embarking on witnessing. Know why he believe what he believe.

Study every Scripture passage that they misquote and twist in order to explaining that Jesus Christ was only human.

Be very familiar with your Bible so that there will be no idle moments for him to interrupt what you’re saying.

Be alert on every explanation he presents so that you will have something use these against the INC’s false doctrines.

Do not forget to share him the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Again, From wikipedia:

The Iglesia ni Cristo (IPA: [iːˈglɛ.ʃɑː niː ˈkriːstəʊ]) (also known as INC or Iglesya ni Kristo ; literally Tagalog for Church of Christ) is an independent, nontrinitarian[1] Christian church that originated in the Philippines[2] The INC was incorporated in the Philippines by Felix Y. Manalo on July 27, 1914;[3] The church professes to be the reestablishment of the original church founded by Jesus and claims that the original church was apostatized. It does not accept the doctrine of the Trinity, as well as the Divinity of Jesus.[4][5]

So, the INC does not believe the Trinity and yet, they sing about it everytime as their doxology?

Clearly, the INC is the National Lampoon of Religions, a spoof of a number of religions, a coconction of various doctrines, Plagiarismic episodes… If those doctrines they copied were copyrighted, chances are to this day, it will be called piracy.

This comment came from a certain kel_1122@yahoo.com posting as Kabataan, akbayan muna (You are not sure which partylist are you?, whereas in the undisclosed sample ballots that the INC secretly distributed amongst cult members, ALAGAD was indicated as partlylist? and that your sample ballots are really clear directives of whom to support?)

kabataan, akbayan muna Comments:June 11th, 2007 at 10:25 am

kabataan, akbayan muna: ALAGAD Partylist is NOT AND WILL NEVER BE, the official party-list of the Iglesia ni Cristo. Nor will it attempt to be the official representative of the INC in ANY matter whatsoever pertaining to ANYTHING AT ALL.

el_critique: Yes, to deny all links to this group… sadly, if this group really had the clean intentions, then it would not be shameful to accept such fact that it is infact an INC initiative… but it would be shameful enough that ALAGAD would be a partylist that serves to the best interest of the INC Cult…

kabataan, akbayan muna:THE LAW IS VERY STRICT in a definite stipulation prohibiting religious organizations (or sectors) from participating in party-list elections. INC in general, is very particular with observing the RULE OF LAW. You should know this if and only if you do belong to the true Church.

el_critique: The Law is very strict to those who cannot afford it financially, cover-ups are best known options on these situations… INC generally is very particular with the RULE OF LAW for its own cruel intentions. No entityclaims to be the TRUE CHURCH (sic) except the INC.

kabataan, akbayan muna:REVIEW THE SAME ARTICLE THAT YOU EXHIBITED TO FORTIFY YOUR CLAIM RE: ALAGAD’S PUTATIVE ASSOCIATION WITH THE INC. There is no mention that Brother Rodante Marcoleta indeed linked in any way whatsoever, the ALAGAD partylist with the INC. It did mention that Cong. Marcoleta was, is and will always be a member of the INC. There is nothing extravagant and befuddling about that. What is confusing is the manner by which you desperately insinuate INC’s connection with ALAGAD using the above premise.

el_critique: It was a featured article from josepherdon; then again, the said article verifies my source’s information. To as those sources came from, I have agreed to witheld theiridentities anddesignation in the INC.

kabataan, akbayan muna:When ALAGAD won the chance to have a seat in the Congress on 1998. Diogenes Osabel represented ALAGAD. Again if you really are a member of the INC even back then, you may recall (or may ask an INC member who was old enough to vote then if you can’t) that INC voted for ALAGAD. MR. OSABEL, who was later on expelled out of the party, IS A NON-MEMBER OF THE INC. Why he was expelled is bereft of any religious considerations. Furthemore, other nominees following Cong. Marcoleta are also non-members of the INC. Shall you still make a HUGE deal out of Cong. Marcoleta’s membership with the INC?

el_critique: Diogenes Osabel was a member duly expelled by your cult, whatever happened is not my business and I have no problem with that… Now that since Congressman Marcoleta is a member of the INC, isnt it that it is not allowed for an INC member to run into public office? I admire Cong. Marcoleta’s works in the Philippine congress… I just dont want that to be exploited for INC’s own intentions…but then again, it is really a big deal that an INC ran for public office…

kabataan, akbayan muna:If you still have questions about this, you are enjoined to seek an advise from your locale pastor– that is again if you are a member of INC, that being said, you should be aware of to begin with.

kabataan, akbayan muna:ERRATUM: 4. …ADVICE… (not advise)

el_critique: My locale pastor? hmm… Number 1, I guess they would not tolerate such act and well, report me to the ultimate-spaceship of the INC in Commonwealth… Number 2, (I’d laugh about this…) Majority of my sources are from that spaceship (sic- As Ida would say, “Time Space Warp, ngayon din! ) Number 3, I don’t trust any locale pastor because merely of the fact that I know with some of them (Well, almost all of them are involved into serious acts of deceit and lasiviousness, which will be tackled in a new post soon…) are not TRUSTWORTHY…

kabataan, akbayan muna:For everyone who may chance to read this post: DO NOT ASSUME that since it has been insisted by so many people for so many times that ALAGAD is connected with INC, that the INC will be assumed to automatically support ALAGAD- and use said unfounded assumption against the Church. Stop weaving intricate and separate details together to form a rhetoric such as the one constantly upheld. Example: the “ikapu” allegation (precisely why it is an allegation) is something that has been overtly used to discredit the Church, when in fact WE DO NOT PRACTICE THAT “IKAPU” THING. No one feels negatively compelled nor has it been imposed nevertheless, to extend any monetary offering to the Church. Do not make it a big issue if anyone from the Church refuses to drop some amount during the offering (btw, nobody does, unless you do- that is beyond me).

el_critique: Yes to everyonehaving the chance to read this post: DO NOT ASSUME but rather MEASUREAND ASSESS what you truly believe in, (Specially the INC members) no matter politically or its leadership… As for the alleged linkage with ALAGAD, why deny the fact? as I said, as long as its objectives are for the people and not INC-exclusive benefits then it will be for a good cause BUT if it is for the INC only, then that is really another issue… as for “ikapu” is concerned… ikapu is undocumented…and ikapu is everywhere… even in that humongous INC spaceship of yours there in QC… (BTW, everybody does, maybe you dont….)

kabataan, akbayan muna:I know what i’ve written will just be another dust that you will sweep from your way. I am aware of it. What’s my point? exactly what’s yours…

el_critique:Iwill never regard such comments as dustor trash, infact,I would even feature this…(and yes I did… but rather it is the opposite that you will treat this astrash and I feel somehow you will never react to this but Im hoping you will…)My point is (for this post only re: alagad) is again, why deny such actions if it would benefit everyone? (you asked what’s your point… well, I have mine, what’s yours? Still thinkin???)

kabataan, akbayan muna:Brethren are brethren even online.

el_critique:yes, brethren are brethren, if applied to every single human beings BUT your brethren are chicken, even online…

Iglesia ni Cristo pastor, wife, son found dead in chapel

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/breakingnews/regions/view_article.php?article_id=48314

By Marlon Ramos
Southern Luzon Bureau
Last updated 10:14pm (Mla time) 02/08/2007

IMUS, Cavite, Philippines — A pastor of the Iglesia ni Cristo, his wife and their six-year-old son were found dead inside their chapel in Ternate, Cavite on Thursday.
The victims were identified as Darius Api, 34, his wife Antery, 36, and son Kurt Russel.
Senior Superintendent Mark Edson Belarma, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Calabarzon, said the three were found dead inside the pastor’s room in the chapel.
In a text message, Belarma said the three were shot with a .45 pistol. The bodies were discovered at around 1 p.m. by an unnamed church member.
He said initial investigation showed the three could have been killed before 4 a.m. Thursday.
Belarma would not give other details of the incident.
A senior police official from Cavite, who requested anonymity, also declined to give details of the case, saying that Iglesia ni Cristo “asked the police to refrain from giving information to the media.”
The Philippine Daily Inquirer tried to contact Chief Superintendent Nicasio Radovan, Calabarzon police director, to inquire about the killings but his mobile phone was turned off.
Radovan is a member of Iglesia ni Cristo.

I was in the Philippines that time when this happened, I knew this happened way before it got published; it had almost no media coverage, a direct manipulation of the media…

My sources tell me that the suspect was the pastor’s brother, and it was a case of land dispute. The suspect also had access to their church, a member of their cult; later labeled as a former member because of the crime…

My questions remained unanswered after; was the land grabbing issue really the reason for such crime? Is the pastor using his authority/powers to achieve his personal interests? Questions that came really so unanswerable because of such cover-up, a clear manipulation and situation on how this cult uses its influence in the Filipino society for their “best” interest.
