1:1 Gundam Statue Reborn!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Missed the 1:1 (actual size) Gundam in Odaiba last year? Here’s your chance to see it again.

The 18-meter Gundam statue is now located at East Shizuoka Square (north east of JR Shizuoka Station/Naganuma, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka City). It will be on display from July 24th, 2010 till January 10th, 2011.

The production factory for Bandai’s Gundam plastic models is actually located in Shizuoka. So, that place is really significant when it comes to the world of Gundam.

The statue will be sporting a beam saber upgrade which really lights up! Cool, isn’t it? I wonder what kind of upgrade they’ll be doing next? (They’ll probably make it walk next time.)

Gundam completed!

The 1/1 scale statue of the Gundam RX-78-2 (piloted by Amuro Ray in the first Gundam anime series) being built in Odaiba as part of Gundam’s 30th anniversary celebrations now appears to be completed, as this extensive photoshoot of the famed mecha shows in glorious detail.

The Gundam is planned to be unveiled on July 11, and be shown until August 31st.

Gundams walking on our planet or going to space are slowly becoming a reality. In a few years, people can pilot these massive mechanical works of art!

Anime Cars Festival in Odaiba

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

A festival in Japan called “Itasha G Fesuta” took place last Sunday, November 9  in Japan which featured around 450 cars. It was organized by a popular Japanese graphical magazine. The term “itasha” refers to cars which have been illustrated upon by anime, manga and video game character decals. “Itasha” is also a transliteration of “Itariasha” (Italian car) which often connotes fashionable design.

Subaru Forester 2008 Launch

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

I attended the Subaru Forester Launch with my dad last July 2, 2008 at EDSA Shangri-la Hotel. It was a great event, with lots of food, drinks and cool gifts. The new model is superb and definitely roomier than the previous model. They also redesigned the exterior and looks more modern than the 2007 model which I already own.

We didn’t get to explore the vehicle that much while in the event because we were enjoying the finely cooked roast beef they served!  We can always get to see the car some other time and even test drive it. Hehe.

Check out what they gave to those who attended. It’s definitely adorable! XD

ToyCon 2008

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

I visited the Philippine ToyCon last June 14, 2008. It was a two-day event but I didn’t bother visiting again the next day because it will drain my wallet. Compared to the previous years’ ToyCon, it was always the same with a lot of retail booths. If you’re an anime fan though, you’ll like this event.

Here are some pics for the non-anime fans. Batman is #1!!!

The ultimate news about the GX-con (held last October 7, 2007 at the Megatrade Hall B) by our friendly reporters-on-the-floor. So you thought you’ve seen and heard everything about the event, that’s what you think! Huahuahua!

It’s not over ’til it’s over! It’s kanky time!
