1:1 Gundam Statue Reborn!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Missed the 1:1 (actual size) Gundam in Odaiba last year? Here’s your chance to see it again.

The 18-meter Gundam statue is now located at East Shizuoka Square (north east of JR Shizuoka Station/Naganuma, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka City). It will be on display from July 24th, 2010 till January 10th, 2011.

The production factory for Bandai’s Gundam plastic models is actually located in Shizuoka. So, that place is really significant when it comes to the world of Gundam.

The statue will be sporting a beam saber upgrade which really lights up! Cool, isn’t it? I wonder what kind of upgrade they’ll be doing next? (They’ll probably make it walk next time.)

professor leonardo

The mad scientist doesn’t like it when people call him teddy, just look at his angry (blood thirsty) face. Hardly likely to strike fear into people, especially now that he is super deformed, but be careful that he might burst into the "You are dinner, my dinner!" crazy mode.

Dr. Leonardo from Himitsu Kessha - Taka no Tsume, the Macromedia Flash created anime series is here to wreak some havoc, offer him a place on your shelf as a lab and take him home.

Anime Cars Festival in Odaiba

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

A festival in Japan called “Itasha G Fesuta” took place last Sunday, November 9  in Japan which featured around 450 cars. It was organized by a popular Japanese graphical magazine. The term “itasha” refers to cars which have been illustrated upon by anime, manga and video game character decals. “Itasha” is also a transliteration of “Itariasha” (Italian car) which often connotes fashionable design.
