(Wii version)

Do things cease to exist if we forget about them?

For every decade, a special ceremony is held at a shrine in Oborotsuki island. 10 years ago, during a traditional Japanese concert, a case of suspected abduction occurred. Five girls disappeared without a trace as if taken away by supernatural forces.

Although the case was solved by a policeman, the girls seemed to have suffered from a special form of amnesia, they have forgotten what happened during their abduction. The amnesia disturbed the girls, but this matter seemed to have been settled when they moved away from the island.

However, unlike what everyone thought, this case was not over. 10 years later, two victims from the case were killed in a brutal manner and the survivors suspected it has something to do with Oborotsuki island. To find out about the truth behind the case and stop the killing before the culprit takes another life, two survivors, Misaki and Madoka set off to the island they have moved away from so long ago.

The remaining survivor Minatsuki Ruka seemed to be the only one who still retained some remnants of memories from her abduction ordeal. She remembered a melody, a group of musicians being surrounded by a circle of masked men and a masked woman who danced as if she was possessed by spirits. In search of the truth behind the memories and images that plagued her life, she, too set off for the island after Misaki and Madoka.

Crash of the Titans

(PSP version)

crash of the titans psp cover Crash Bandicoot had the potential to be a mascot and join the ranks of the famous Mario and Sonic. Unfortunately, due to a lack of game releases, the mammal tumbled from fame. As if gamers’ prayers have been answered, Vivendi Universal Games developed Crash of the Titans to signal the rebirth of Crash Bandicoot in the gaming world.

In a nefarious plot to unleash destruction, Crash Bandicoot’s arch-nemeses, Neo and Nina Cortex, have mutated the creatures of Crash’s island into monstrous abominations! Never one to shirk from danger, our orange furry friend finds that with his potent mix of wacky bravado and daredevil action he is able to hijack the titanic monsters and wield their immense powers against each other! Bring on the titans, because with Crash in charge, the bigger the baddie, the better!

crash of the titans game One of the central mechanics in the new Crash game is the ability to ‘jack’ enemies - essentially to jump on their backs and use their abilities against other foes, but you may not know much about their likes, dislikes and favorite methods of dismemberment.

An enjoyable game for both young and old. It’s also available in several platforms.

MediEvil Resurrection

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

(PSP version)

medievil psp cover In MediEvil Resurrection, you play as Sir Daniel Fortesque, an undead hero to the whole world. As it turns out, he really wasn’t a hero when he was still alive. He was more of a coward actually. He hid way in the back of a major battle against an evil sorcerer Zarok with an army of undead legions while everyone else was brave and fighting. Sir Daniel was one of the first to fall. Hehe.

Somehow he ended up being considered a hero with everyone thinking that he killed the sorcerer. It’s funny how history changes depending on who writes it. After 100 years, Zarok and his undead army is back, and so is Sir Daniel Fortesque.

These turn of events actually give our hero a second chance to prove his real worth and perhaps earn a spot in the Hall of Heroes where all the great fallen heroes go when they die. To do that, he has to actually kill the sorcerer and his undead legions who have returned to conquer the world once again (but for real this time).

A hack and slash game, you’ll go to different places using a wide array of weapon in order to defeat your opponents. You’ll wander to graveyards and mausoleums, and even encounter simple puzzles. At least it’s not just mindless hack and slash.

medievil game Graphics and sounds are good. The gothic and horror music doesn’t make the game sound to kiddy. As for Sir Daniel, he looks amusing. He doesn’t look like a scary undead at all. It’s really a short and simple game. So if you’re looking for something fun to play, get this title!

SD Gundam Force Showdown

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

(PS2 version)

sd gundam cover A lot of people don’t like this game because of the theme. As for me, I like anything Gundam-related. Hehe.

If you have seen the animated series SD Gundam Force, you’ll be familiar with a lot of elements in the game. Play as Captain, Zero or Bakunetsumaru and fight against the evil bakuforces of the Dark Axis, Lacroa and Arc.

Cute and amusing game. Check out the clumsy yet funny Zakos as they fight against you, too.

(PSP version)

tokobot psp coverThis is a puzzle based platformer. You are a robot excavator who apparently unearthed some cute, ancient robots known as Tokobots. They will follow you around and you command them to create certain formations in order to proceed to different parts of the map or attack aggressive creatures.

You start with three formations and 6 Tokobots. As you go along, you will gain more formations and transformations.

tokobot game The art is nice, but not overly superb. I like that ancient cybernetic feel of the game though. Game play wise, the character movement is slow. The command buttons and combinations are also a bit complicated and takes a little getting used to.

Overall, it’s still a nice puzzle, adventure  game to pass the time away.
