(PSP version)

This is the third installment of the popular Gundam game series  for the PSP. Continuing the tactical and third person shooting gameplay of Gundam Battle Tactics and Gundam Battle Royale, this game offers more challenges for Gundam fanatics.

gundam battle chronicle psp coverThis game now has an option to name your team mate and choose his/her Mobile Suit. Your team mate will also get to level up. It also offers more challenging terrains for each mission like underwater and zero gravity levels. Also, don’t be careless when finishing a mission. Not only do you have to stay alive, you have to maintain enough hit points to survive the succeeding missions. Because  your remaining hit points will have to carry over as you proceed to the next mission.

A must to own for all Gundam fans. See you in the battle field!

(PSP version)

worms open warfare2 psp cover Watch out, this is a highly addictive game. If you have played a 2D worms game or a 3D one or the first PSP game and liked it, you will LOVE this one!

Characterized now by campaign missions, unlike in the original Open Warfare where there were just challenges. There are also different modes of gameplay available.  Puzzle mode is where you have to kill worms from one little spot. There is also Time Trial that you can unlock in the shop. In Time Trial, you race against the clock to the end of the path.  In the custom game mode, you can choose to do a Deathmatch, Rope Race or Forts.

worms open warfare2 game When it comes to customization, you get choose how your worm team will look like. Choose from hats, more worm voices, victory dances, skin colour, even graves and flags. There is also the cool new level editor/creator where you make your own landscape and choose where to put things, like barrels and mines. You can also create your own scheme with more options. There is also the Firing range where you can place down targets and dummies, you can set the water level and you have every single weapon for infinity.

REALLY FUN! Overall this game is VERY GOOD and highly recommend for worm fans with a PSP and new people who love humor and action.

SD Gundam G Generation Portable

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

(PSP version)

sd gundam psp cover This game is very similar to Super Robot Taisen (aka Super Robot Wars) in a number of system. G Gen Portable contains 15 different Gundam series. Ranging from Gundam, Gundam 0080, G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam Seed and Gundam Seed Destiny. If you think it will be as easy as the previous SRW, where you can just upgrade one MS and use it to kill everything on the field, then you would be surprised at the difficulty on this version.

When you start a game, players would be able to choose the storyline (eg. Gundam Seed or Gundam W). Then enter the operation room where you get to organize your team.  This can range from any MS in the game. However, you need to either research by combining the blueprints of two Mobile Suits (MS) or just capture one. MS that was used for our side of the game can be made if there is enough money. There are over 1000 MS in this version of the game and just under 800 different pilots.

Each stage in the game is huge. Average time look to complete one stage is about an hour. There would be several assist round when you thought you have completed the stage. In some stages, the map would be multi-layer, some MS can move from one layer to another for more intensive battle.

If you are a Gundam fan or just want some proper strategy planning game and doesn’t mind it being Japanese, SD Gundam G Generation Portable is a game for you.

R-Type Tactics

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

(PSP version)

r type psp cover A surprising twist on a classic franchise hits the Japanese PSP.

R-Type Tactics looks like a traditional shooting game, right down to the side-scrolling perspective and walls blocking your path. The difference here is that instead of freely moving about and blasting enemy ships, you take turns with the enemy, making careful movements over a grid. Perform an attack, and the game switches to an effect-filled attack sequence.

r type game1 The side-scrolling perspective isn’t all you’ll recognize from the series. The game includes similar weapons as well as boss characters who will be instantly recognizable by hardcore fans. The “force” sub-weapons play a big part as well, adding extra power to your ship.

Modes of play include a single player mission mode and an ad-hoc-based battle mode for multiple players.

r type bonus For those who preordered the R-Type Tactics, their copies have a bonus R-9A Arrowhead toy that’s packaged in a collectible box. Some assembly is required and a Force weapon accessory is included. Both the Arrowhead and Force can be mounted on an included pedestal with transparent attachments.
