Director's Club Interviews: Mfly_88

June 18th, 2007 by directors_club:hellokitty.com

We’re back with another feature, this time with an already popular video and a very informative interview with mfly_88. Her video is called “SANRIO loves the WORLD…” and we are proud to present it as not only a very creative video, but also a very meaningful one. Enjoy!

DC: What was the message behind your video, “SANRIO loves the WORLD…”?
M:
Through the video “Sanrio loves the WORLD…”, I wish to express my message to people around the world about children worldwide who are suffering right now, who are just innocent victims of the society. As a teen myself, I know that I am very fortunate to experience Love and Care from others and to be provided with life in which conditions, satisfy my rights. I want to tell people that there are much more children than we ever imagined who are victims of abandonment, poverty, right abuse, etc.. They are the same with me, and with other children, hence, they also should be given a chance to enjoy and witness the beauty of life itself. In connection to Sanrio, I admire the way Sanrio tries it’s best to help children. Such as coordinating with the Unicef. They are role models to citizens who wish to create a better world for all of us.

DC: What inspired you to make your videos?
M:
My life itself inspire me to make my videos and also my dreams. Usually, when making videos, i don’t have the precise idea yet, but when the question “What would I do to make a better world?” pops into my head, I thought that in my own little way, I could help and share my ideas with people around the world. Part of my life is my dream. It’s my dream to help people, so I really do what I can to reach out to realize it. My family, because since my life is colored by people around me who loves me, I wish other people like me to experience that feeling too. Most of all, by ife itself, just because life should be made enjoyable and colorful to everyone, so I just want to let them feel that they are loved, they are being cared about and they have beautiful lives awaiting for them.

DC: Would you recommend using Dream Studio to your family and friends?
M:
Yes, of course, I would like them to express themselves through Dream Studio like I am as much as possible and to let them experience this wonderful chance to share ideas with people.

DC: Will you make another Dream Studio video again soon? When?
M:
Yes, that would be my honor, I guess that the idea is still unclear, but I’ll just listen to my heart and what it wants to express. Watch out for my upcoming one though!

DC: Do you have dreams of directing films in the future?
M: I guess that it’s not impossible, since I am an art-lover. I also enjoy movies and films especially ones that are incredible! Since you guys asked, who knows, maybe I’ll pursue that dream someday.

DC: Do you think Dream Studio can be a good training ground for directing?
M:
Yes, it is! I actually made my first video here, so I really appreciate that Dream Studio had given me a chance to discover a new side of me. I hope though that people will also enjoy making videos like I do!

DC: What topics do you mostly like to make videos about?
M:
Sometimes, I am not even sure of what topics to make, but I believe in what i feel so i oftenly express what i love , just like Sanrio! Specifically, I would love to focus on Beauty of life (that gives me an idea though…hmm) because life for me is perfect, just the way it is.

DC: How has Dream Studio helped you to express yourself?
M:
Alot! It helped me to express my self in a new way that I never tried before. I think it’s fun and inspiring for me each time I make a video since I enjoy it a lot and the way I see it, it serves as a big beautiful bag of letters to other people from me.

DC: Have other users’ comments helped you?
M:
Yes, I usually ask them to comment about it since I really like to hear their ideas about my video also to improve on it. I specifically want to thank them because their comments helped me alot since my first make of “Sanrio LOVE…”.

DC: Are there videos from other users that you enjoy?
M:
Yes, I like watching other people’s videos because it really expresses their own thoughts and messages. I really think the personalized ones are just sweet and it really shouts out L-O-V-E!

DC: Do you look at other peoples’ videos for ideas and for inspiration?
M:
Sometimes, because I think that it’s nesessary to look at life the way other people see it, so that i may be better in expressing my thoughts in making my videos. I also try interesting ideas that are new to me. Those ideas sometimes helped me discover a part of me that I never knew I had.

DC: How do you find Dream Studio’s features in terms of ease and functionality?
M:
I find it very comfortable to work with. I also am able to look for the effects that match the feelings i entrust upon my videos. I like the effects alot, especially the ones in the “screen transitions” area. I also like the sparkle effect, it’s just so dreamy.

DC: Do you have any suggestions on how Dream Studio can be improved?
M:
I would personally specify providing new creative effects and ones that have something to do with video clips because I am currently trying my best to make one with motion picture.

DC: Are there any tips you can give to Dream Studio users?
M:
I would also like to tell other users to just relax while making your video and plenty of good ideas with come popping up to your mind and just feel free to express how you feel and what you want others to feel about your video. Adding effects such as sound and slide effects helps you magnify on the feelings you want to put on your video, just let it flow thru you and let it speak for itself!

Director's Club Interviews: Carlymodel

April 10th, 2007 by directors_club:hellokitty.com

This week, we have an interview with Carlymodel, whom I’m sure many of you Dream Studio veterans are familiar with. You can watch her video “Pretty Bunny Rabbits” below. She’s got some good tips in the interview, which I’m sure many of you will find interesting.

DC: What was the message behind your video, ”Pretty Bunny Rabbits”?
C: The messege behind my video was the relationship between pets and thier owners, I included text next to the pictures with words that explain the thaughts and feelings I experience from having a pet.

DC: What inspired you to make your videos?
C: My pets give inspiration for this video, and I wanted to share them with everyone.

DC: Would you reccomend using dream studio to your family and friends?
C: Yes of course, Dream Studio is a great way of showing everyone your pictures and expressing your thaughts and it’s so easy to use. I have told all my friends about it and they are very keen to join, and my family love the shows I have made.

DC: will you make another dream studio video agian? when?
C: Yes I’m planning a new video at the moment, I have got some really good ideas, it will be very soon.

DC: Do you have dreams of directing films in the future?
C: I have considered directing, I’m at college at the moment doing a performing arts course and we have to learn about filming and directing and i find it really interesting, i enjoy it. I would love to direct as a career.

DC: Do you think dream studio can be a good training ground for directing?
C: Absolutely, i have learnt lots since using it, and I’m sure all the really young people who are creating video’s will have an interest in this later in life, and will have had valuable experience.

DC: what topics do you mostly like to make videos about?
C: I tend to make topics on what I think people who come on to Sanriotown will enjoy but also things that represent myself and that I like. My favourite slides are the ones I make about Hello Kitty, and I like to make them about pets and animals.

DC: How has dream studio helped you express yourself?
C: I get to show the world what i enjoy, and the things i like, in a creative and fun way that I get to choose and make myself.

DC: Have other users comments helped you?
C: Yes, the first video I ever made I was really nervous about what people were going to say but after all the lovely comments, I felt really confident and decided to make more.

DC: Are there any video’s from other users that you enjoy?
C: I enjoy watching everyone’s videos. The longer and more creative the better.

DC: Do you look at other peoples video’s for ideas and for inspiration?
C: Of course, I will see a good video and it will inspire me and give me ideas, some people see that as a bad thing sometimes, but it is a honestly fine thing to do, as long as you don’t steal another person’s idea or copy a video completley.

DC: How do you find dream studio’s features in terms of ease and funtionality?
C: I find that it is very easy to understand and the layout is very good, I also think that having a tutorial there is a very good idea and helpful.

DC: Do you have any suggestions on how dreamstudio can be improved?
C: Not at the moment because I think that Dream Studio is perfect! 100%.

DC: Are there any tips you can give other dream studio users?
C: Be creative, explore the different effects, and use text to explain what’s happening in your video. Also always complete it before publishing. If you are viewing a video and you see something that you don’t like, don’t leave a nasty comment, just leave it blank or tell the person how it can be improved.

Director's Club Interviews: Icyrascal

March 26th, 2007 by directors_club:hellokitty.com

This is an interview with Icyrascal the one behind the very moving video “To Watch You Leaving…” You can watch the video below.

DC: What inspired you to make your videos?
I: My videos are fueled by my personal experience, i do what i feel to do, it’s all about the flow of mixed intense emotions you never expressed. It’s like wishing for things to come back and change them but in reality, you can’t, that’s where the video enters, like having your personal space of expression and diversion.

DC: Would you recommend using Dreamstudio to your family and friends?
I: Well, i have recommended it to my friends and family, they find it easy to use…

DC: Will you make another Dreamstudio video again soon? When?
I: Yes definitely. Im working on a new video and i’d like to experiment with film, pictures and various features of
Dreamstudio. I just need to figure out my flow of context and dynamics with the theme of my video.

DC: Do you have dreams of directing films in the future?
I: It has been one of my frustrations to be a Film Director, Dreamstudio has made this possible.

DC: Do you think Dreamstudio can be a good training ground for directing?
I: Yes. The fluidity of dreamstudio fits the question very well, it is a fine tool for groundbreaking videos.

DC: What topics do you mostly like to make videos about?
I: As what I said in the First question, it is by my own experiences, Love, Life and the reality we exist in.

DC: How has Dreamstudio helped you to express yourself?
I: Dreamstudio helped me express my creativity in the architectures of the videos I made. It has been both a
experimental media and a tool for not only me but as well as the users of dreamstudio.

DC: Have other users’ comments helped you?
I: Yes. It show that there are a lot of users there that understand the message behind the videos and they are sort
of a “survival space” for me to improve more.

DC: Are there videos from other users that you enjoy?
I: I have enjoyed videos from girlinblue and shadowcat. I like the themes that inspired the videos.

DC: Do you look at other peoples’ videos for ideas and for inspiration?
I: Not really, as muych as possible, i want to get the context right out of my personal experiences, thus being an emotional reality

DC: How do you find Dreamstudio’s features in terms of ease and functionality?
I: I find Dreamstudio’s features as easy as A-B-C. It makes video and slideshow creation a thing of the past, the only limit is your imagination.

DC: Do you have any suggestions on how Dreamstudio can be improved?
I: Yes, I would like Dreamstudio to have more effects and transitions; and also upgrading the maximum “per frame”
limit and the upload limit, Plus that, It could help if more Music and Video Formats were supported.

DC: Are there any tips you can give to Dream Studio users?
I: Sadly, I see lots of video that are not in the right aspect of incorporating thoughts and ideas into them. It would be much better if they would be doing that because, creating a video in Dreamstudio has proved them already of thier potentials, they just have to unlock those by freeflowing their minds through their videos.

DC: a What is the message behind your video, “To Watch you Leaving” ?
I: “To Watch You Leaving” was conceptualized when at one time recently, I felt that the world was going down on me,
that, I thought of the past happenings (heartaches) in my life. The poem was from Jocelyn Galvano-Pickett and it was about her husband leaving her. I was moved by Ms. Pickett’s thoughts and pain, realizing that we shared the common thought in situations like that. I guess, the message that I would like to bring on is that love can make a person so sensitive and that, when deprived of it, completely destroys the person, the harmony, and the world revolving around him or her.

Director's Club Interviews: Girlinblue

March 15th, 2007 by directors_club:hellokitty.com

We were privileged to interview Girlinblue, a Dreamstudio user who was featured as an Editor’s Pick last January.

DC:What was the message behind your video, “True Colors” ?
G: I’ve always loved the song, and i thought of making a video that has images that would go along with it

DC: What inspired you to make your videos?
G: I guess I make my videos with a vision on my mind, as what someone who viewed one of these said. I try and put who I am in the videos that I make.

DC: Would you recommend using Dreamstudio to your family and friends?
G:
Oh yeah, definitely, especially those who love taking snapshots as much as I do.

DC:Will you make another Dreamstudio video again soon? When?
G:
I’m actually planning to create another one sometime soon, I just haven’t fully ironed out the details in my head yet.

DC: Do you have dreams of directing films in the future?
G:Directing? I’d want to go into producing or scriptwriting though.

DC: Do you think Dreamstudio can be a good training ground for directing?
G: It could be, since the Dream Studio users would have to figure out what stuff they have to put in different slides. I think producing could be also be developed by Dream Studio, probably even more than directing.

DC: What topics do you mostly like to make videos about?
G: Inspirational stuff, usually. I like putting good images, whether of people or places, and then putting them together along with good music to come up with a theme. I’ve had a Hello Kitty-themed video put up also, though.

DC: How has Dreamstudio helped you to express yourself?
G: Yes! It’s really an outlet for me to be express my creativity.

DC: Have other users’ comments helped you?
G: Yeah. It’s pretty cool to have people say good things about something you’ve made. It makes me want to do more.

DC: Are there videos from other users that you enjoy?
G: I love looking at the videos made by the people on Dream Studio, although sometimes, I couldn’t leave comments because of time constraints. I love the ones that have themes in their videos too, instead of those that just have random stuff in them. There’s one I remember in particular, which had My Melody hanging out with a Lego block. That was really cool.

DC: Do you look at other peoples’ videos for ideas and for inspiration?
G: In a way, I guess. I see their videos and I think, “Hey, they used these images in a very unique way. Why not try doing something similar?” Users go and use the default Sanrio images and actually put them in a solid storyline, and that’s something I want to do in the near-future.

DC: How do you find Dreamstudio’s features in terms of ease and functionality?
G: It’s very user-friendly, and that’s what I like about it, especially in using effects. You just click on the one you want, apply, and you’re all set! Reminds me of shopping. lol

DC: Do you have any suggestions on how Dreamstudio can be improved?
G: Probably include more effects, including the Sanrio characters, and most especially the moving ones. Those are pretty cute.

DC: Are there any tips you can give to Dream Studio users?
G: I guess they should really maximize their using of Dream Studio. It’s really sad when you see videos that use only the default images or only have one slide with one picture or effect on it. My advice would be to include their own images there and not just default ones, and really make use of the effects, because these really make videos more interesting.
