Director's Club Interviews: Mickymic4

July 31st, 2007 by directors_club:hellokitty.com

Our feature for this week involves one of our most dedicated directors here in Dream Studio. We have an interview with Mickymic4, and have included here one of her videos entitled “Nature…“. This is just one of her many great videos, with nice themes and full use of effects. Let’s take a look at her video and read what she has to say.

DC: What was the message behind your video, “Nature…”?
M:
The message behind my video is about appreciating nature and loving our surroundings. It is about being grateful for what mother nature has given the world and to us. Although, I thought about how some beautiful places has its own history. For example, the tsunamis…once a place is destroyed it will be fixed in about a year. Even though the place has been fixed, it still has a story from everyone in it, so I’m proving to everyone that places and other natures is very valuable to the world.

DC: What inspired you to make your videos?
M:
What got me inspired to make videos are the other videos of Dream Studio. I saw other people commenting on other peoples’ videos, so I thought that once I make a video other members will also comment on mine. I also know that I’ll get opinions and that will help me improve on my work, which is making videos. What got me inspired on this video, “Nature…”, is my mom and her garden. She has so many flowers and vegetables that I decided to dedicate a video about nature for her.

DC: Would you recommend using Dream Studio to your family and friends?
M:
Yes, of course…they’ll know how exciting it will be to make a video and especially finishing it and how people would comment on it. They’ll get a feeling that a have accomplished a mission.

DC: Will you make another Dream Studio video again soon? When?
M:
Definitely YES! I love making videos. Now that I’ve been invited on this club, I know I’ll be making more videos and working harder so that the people on Dream Studio are entertained. I think I’ll make one soon as I finish answering all these questions!!

DC: Do you have dreams of directing films in the future?
M:
Maybe, but I wouldn’t really focus on that all my life I have other dreams and I’m hoping to accomplish that dream. I think it will be fun though to direct a film.

DC: Do you think Dream Studio can be a good training ground for directing?
M:
Just a little, because it will be more difficult to direct in a real show or movie. (50/50)

DC: What topics do you mostly like to make videos about?
M:
I like topics that are mostly about nature, especially flowers…also Sanrio characters, mostly my favorite ones, and I’m also thinking of doing a video of my family. Mostly in every video I make I dedicate it to a special person, and that’s my only reason why I make a video. But also to entertain people.

DC: How has Dream Studio helped you to express yourself?
M:
It helped me express myself by making a video that is about my favorite thing or even person.

DC: Have other users’ comments helped you?
M:
Yes. Usually, it’s nice and good comments so that actually helps me be more determined to do another GREAT video.

DC: Are there videos from other users that you enjoy?
M:
Not that I know of. Mostly a lot of people make Miley Cyrus videos, and I liked one of them. I also liked a video that’s also about nature!

DC: Do you look at other peoples’ videos for ideas and for inspiration?
M:
No…because that wouldn’t make the video express me, and I know that I’m inspired on MY OWN ideas.

DC: Do you have any suggestions on how Dream Studio can be improved?
M:
Actually, I posted a topic on a forum in Sanriotown about suggestions from users. Users can put there suggestions there to make Sanriotown improve including Dream Studio. A suggestion from me that I sent to one of the editors was…let Sanriotown members vote between four Dream Studio videos chosen by the editor(s). The two videos that has the most votes wins as the “Sanriotown video pick of the week.” The winners should get a special price such as Kitty points.

DC: Are there any tips you can give to Dream Studio users?
M:
Just have fun making your video, and just work hard make it as good as possible.

Director's Club Interviews: Candi

July 16th, 2007 by directors_club:hellokitty.com

Nowadays, you can find Sanrio on almost anything, but plushies never seem to go out of fashion! With this in mind, we have another video to feature here at Director’s Club, from the proud plushie owner Candi. She’s created this cute video that we’re sure many of you are familiar with it, as it’s already become a very popular video! So now, we are proud to present to you the video “MY SANRIO PLUSHIES” and a wonderful interview with Candi. Enjoy!

DC: What was the message behind your video, “MY SANRIO PLUSHIES”?
C:
Friendship. Sometimes friends let you down, but Hello Kitty doesn’t. My plushies are always there for me… whenever I´m lonely I look at them and they inspire me to go on. They mean a lot to me because some of them were gifts from special people in my life.

DC: What inspired you to make your videos?
C:
Kawaii culture and cute sanrio designs. Since I´m a little girl I love to collect letter papers and sanrio stationaries that my mother used to bring me from her trips abroad. That makes my life happier since I live in a third world country.

DC: Would you recommend using Dream Studio to your family and friends?
C:
Sure! I always post the links to my videos on my fotolog and personal sites.

DC: Will you make another Dream Studio video again soon? When?
C:
Well, I´m kind of addicted to dream studio!! It´s so much fun! You know, I just got my degree in Psychology after 7 years at university, so now I´m enjoying my free time a little bit! Soon there will be another one of my videos in the gallery!

DC: Do you have dreams of directing films in the future?
C:
I love making animations and I sure dream of making my own characters known…that is why dream studio is really a dream come true to me!

DC: Do you think Dream Studio can be a good training ground for directing?
C:
I think the Dream Studio video editor is great and can be an awesome tool to beginners, including me! It is pretty funny to watch tv after using the video editor because we see all the effects on the commercials and programs editions! Dream Studio is really professional!

DC: What topics do you mostly like to make videos about?
C:
I love to make videos about Sanrio characters. I am an unconditional fan of Sanrio cute art. I like to take them to travel far and to yummy scenes! the messege behind my videos are always of love, fun and simple things in life!

DC: How has Dream Studio helped you to express yourself?
C:
It is a big opportunity to show my love for kawaii designs and Japanese culture. In 1997 I´ve been to California for 2 years and I found out that Brazilian and Japanese people have a lot in common. Both value art, culture, traditions, music, frienship, family, fun and simple things in life. When I got back from California in 1999 it was really hard to find sanrio stuffs in my country. Nowadays, its all around!! So, I can upload some local tv commercials of Sanrio products! The video I uploaded from hello kitty popsicle with Brazilian music and Portuguese text was a success! Everybody liked it and I had tones of comments and views!

DC: Have other users’ comments helped you?
C:
Sanriotown users are critic and smart, so the comments are very helpful and welcomed. If they don’t like the video, they say so and I try to get it better.

DC: Are there videos from other users that you enjoy?
C:
Yeah! Lots of them! They are all in my favorite list!

DC: Do you look at other peoples’ videos for ideas and for inspiration?
C:
I think that’s very important so I don’t spoil the gallery! Sometimes I upload a video from the web and it is already somewhere in the gallery, so I don’t make it public.

DC: How do you find Dream Studio’s features in terms of ease and functionality?
C:
When it comes to picture videos I think its perfect, but sometimes when I try to upload some videos of my files I just cant make them to play at the editor…I don’t know what happens. Also, sometimes its hard to delete a no longer wanted video.

DC: Do you have any suggestions on how Dream Studio can be improved?
C:
Oh yeah!!! I’d like to see some more special effects…they are really cute!

DC: Are there any tips you can give to Dream Studio users?
C:
It is really cute to copy and paste the characters to real pictures using a photo editor! The effect is great when you mix fantasy and reality. By the way, thanks so much once again for choosing my video called “Kuromi in Paris” as the editor´s pick! It is a production that mixes fantasy and reality and takes Kuromi to travel abroad! Another tip is uploading Sanrio commercials and animations!
