Bagtastic!!

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

I recieved my bag yesterday! It is fabulous and really big. I can fit two throws and at least three knitting projects and who knows what else. Perfect for the baseball game.

I did some errands in the nieghborhood with the bag full of stuff and went by my sister’s house on foot. Her only reaction was “Oh dear”. She said it was very pink… and big. Hater.

I finished my daughter’s hat. It is very cute on her and now I am working on the mittens to match. I will put an I-cord on them so they will be less likely to get lost. I hope. She likes the hat and wore it with her hot pink shirt and orange pants. Did I mention that the hat is light blue? My child is stylish but color blind.

All is quiet…

And that is soooo good.

Friday, my sister “graduated” from her year of service with City Year- which is like the Peace Corps, but you serve in the US. I think it was such a great experience for her. And to think I had to talk her into this!  If you are at a loss for what to do after high school or college, want to help kids and your community and earn money for school and can live with little money- City Year is for you. And you get a cool uniform and you can meet cool people, and make contacts with leaders in your community. I think it is such a GREAT program. Can I say that louder? I am very proud of my sister, and hope this instills a sense of service for a lifetime.

Okay- enough corniness.

I started the hat for my daughter, I even let her pick out the yarn- Kinda. I gave her two choices and she had to rub it on her face to make sure it was soft. She wants me to put the face on the hat too, but I think the blue is too dark.  We will see.  Then I will make hats for my two older nieces so they all have matching hats since my dad buys them all matching coats and everything else in order for it not appear that he has any favorite grandkids. But he does…. that’s another post.

Oh well, i”m off to knit and figure out what’s for dinner.
