Kindred (Bluestreak Black Women Writers)Kindred- Octavia Butler

This book takes place in 1976 and during the time of slavery. The main character, goes back in time to save one of her white ancestors again and again. Sometimes she gets stuck in the past and must live as a slave.

Clay's ArkClay’s Ark- Octavia Butler

This novel takes place in the future and left me with a weird feeling, that still makes me sad when I think about it.

The WaveThe Wave- Walter Mosley

This is Mr. Mosley’s turn on science fiction and it is good.  It made me think of who would I want to see again if I had a chance, even if they were not their full selves.

A NovelThe Fortunate Son- Walter Mosley

This was an haunting novel about two brothers, one black, one white and the different paths that their lives took.

A Sexistential NovelKilling Johnny Fry- Walter Mosley

This is called a sexisential novel and is definitely not for kids. It had me blushing every 5 pages or so. But it was an interesting book nevertheless.

CellCell- Stephen King

Cell phones  making people turn into zombies? That is very disturbing to someone like me who only uses a cell phone.

A Murderous Yarn (Needlecraft Mysteries)Needlepoint Mysteries, various titles- Monica Ferris

Yes, I did start reading these because they featured knitting and needlepoint. They are kinda predictable and the characters are not very diverse, but they are interesting, quick reads.
