Last year, I hustled and knitted a lot of my gifts. Call me bratty but, this year, I am not gonna do that! Most of the people I knit for do not appreciate wool. They mistreat it and shrink it and then whine about it. Wool will treat you well if you treat it well. So this year, there are few people if any, I will be buying wool for. I am doing nothing but selfish knitting. I have three projects in the works now and another trillion to work on.

So… there.

But it will be a handmade Christmas. I am making cooa butter bars for most and probably a nice card for the rest… I am not breaking myself.

My birthday came and went. I am older, but have a lot more yarn than I did before my birthday. My sister took me on a mini spree and I bought enough yarn for one scarf and a pair of fingerless mittens. Today my mother took me to my favorite yarn store and let me have at it. They said I looked like a crackhead in a crack store. The sales lady looked worried too. But whatever to that. My mother also got a kick of telling me that the yarn looked like Wal-Mart yarn. That is not even remotely true. I know she thought I would get ticked off- but I know that she just doesn’t know the difference between lovely, soft, kinda stinky wool and made from petroleum acrylic. Poor lady.

 I also got a Starbucks card so I can do one of my favorite things, knit, read, drink, eat and be happy.
