White Christmas

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Christmas is finally here! My daughter and I spent part of the weekend at my mother’s with 2 of my sisters and I went home early on Christmas Eve after going out with my friend and my mom said she would bring my girl home later that evening. She didn’t. I was kinda upset that she wouldn’t be able to open her gifts up– and I missed her.  But she did come home early Christmas morning and gave me a quick hug and ran right for her presents. My mom and sisters all came in and we all stood around as she opened all her gifts, actually, I grabbed a garbage bag and held it open so she could aim the wrapping paper towards the bag, but that didn’t work. After my family left, I went to my neighbors to see how they were. While I was there- it started snowing! It hasn’t snowed on Christmas here for a looooonnng time!  We got so excited we opened the door and went outside to feel the flakes on our faces!

I looked a hot mess with my Christmas pajama bottoms, blue and gold hat, rainbow colored shoes and Hello Kitty hoodie, but I went outside anyways. Here are a couple of pics of the snow:

Did you notice my daughter’s Hello Kitty coat? It is just fab-u-luuuus! You love it? I love it! I got it at Ross! For under $20. Super fab.  Sometimes I think things are just meant to be, and that coat was one of them.

After we finished jumping for joy, I made Jiffy Popcorn for the first time EVER. Might be my last time too.  The foil popped open while I was making it and scared the livin’ daylights out of me. I had a Jheri Curl growing up and have always been extra cautious around heat sources since Michael Jackson got burned in the ’80’s…. Yep, I’m sticking with microwave popcorn.

UNLESS I find that Hello Kitty popcorn maker at Target on sale! That’s hot.

We went to my neighbor’s house for Christmas dinner and another Christmas miracle happened, my neighbor’s daughter washed the dinner dishes. Everybody was in disbelief and a few cameras were taken out to capture the moment. Here is proof that miracles do happen:

After dinner, I was pooped. I sat on my neighbor’s couch and drifted off a couple of times before giving up and going home. Now that I am home, I am sitting here on the laptop- trolling Ravelry and writing and thinking about knitting. I am off from work until next year, which sounds so dramatic until you realize that 2008 is about five days away.  So I am up not because I can’t sleep but becuase I ** can **be dag nabbit!!

Happy Holidays

Whew!!!

I have finished almost all of my Christmas knitting! I have half of a scarf to go… but I already knit something for that person, so I can take my time on the scarf.

Woo freaking hoo.

In the meantime, I also finished most of my Christmas shopping- don’t hate, so I can window shop for entertainment now.
