Vacation time to… do nuthin’
I am on vacation!
The following is a timeline of doing nothing and loving it:
7:10 a.m.
I woke up at my usual time, but went back to sleep, oh so happy to be able to do that.
10:00 a.m.
I kinda watched the View and read my book.
11:30 a.m.
I decided that instead of taking a shower, I could sew the zipper on my laptop case, so I did. Now my case looks fabulous. Not really, I have to rip out some stitches and then it will be FABU.
12:00
While working on the zipper, I kept nagging my daughter to take out her braids . The Old School Lunch came on the radio and I became kinda sad because some of the songs they played reminded me of high school and college and that led to me thinking about my friends and how we are “all growed up” And hey, since when did my favorite songs become “old school”? That led to me looking at my impending middle age.
1:00 p.m
So I jumped in the shower.
1:30 p.m.
I slowly got dressed. I didn’t have to rush… I didn’t have to iron. But I made sure my clothes were clean at least. My daughter finished her shower.
2:00 p.m.
I attempted to take out the garbage full of watermelon rinds and other drippy crap. The bag broke on me and garbage juice spilled on my foot. My daughter voiced her disgust- but didn’t offer to help a mamma out.
2:10 p.m. we jump on the bus and head over to the LYS with the laptop in tow.
2:30 p.m.
I buy a drop spindle and some roving wool. While I am on vacation, I will try to spin my own yarn. I find out how cheap the wool is and decide to get some more.
3:15 p.m. We head to Tully’s and order snacks and drinks. And here I sit. I looked up instructions on drop spinning and it looks fairly easy. My daughter is playing with my hair and I can see by the computer’s reflection that I had better fix my hair before I leave.
Tomorrow- Is jam packed with nothing too. I love it.
