There should be…
Friday, July 6th, 2007No holidays in the middle of the week…. It throws me off. I have no time to recover from the festivities before I have to go back to work.
Our plan was to take the commuter train to my mother’s house. My youngest sister was going to get off of work and come with my daughter and I. Her problem… She is soooo slow! She calls me as I am walking to the bus stop and whines, “wait for me”. I am like- hecks to the no. I am thinking that she would have been smart enough to pack her stuff the night before, but nooooo, she has to go home, pack and then run like hades to catch the bus down to the train station. I tell her to just hurry her butt up and we will wait at the station for her. She expected me to miss the next train so we could ride together. Not this time. I told her I was getting on the train whether she was there or not. She was very attitudy and that ticked me off even more.
So my daughter and I are waiting at the platform and the train will take off in two minutes. Here comes my sister…. running down the stairs. I wave at her and my daughter yells and we jump on the train one minute before it is set to take off. Me and my daughter get a seat and we see my sister on the opposite side of the platfom- looking in the wrong train. I groan and my stomach flips because that train goes in the opposite direction! I call her on her cell phone and find out that she made it but is on another car. She is mad at me! “why don’t you wait until I see you before you get on the train?” she says. She is crazy. I thought she did see me. Then she goes on to say “How was I supposed to know which train to get on?” I relpy- “It says on the sign in the train’s window- ‘To Tacoma’”. What a pill.
So what lessons did I learn that day?
- Never invite my sister to ride on the train again.
- Never invite my sister to go somewhere with a time deadline
- Never go anywhere with my sister- ever.
- My sister is a spoiled brat who always thinks she is right.
Anywhoo- The train ride was nice, much better than a bus and it lets you off in back of a mall! I went to Hot Topic while waiting for my mom to pick us up. They have a lot of Hello Kitty stuff. I bought a HK “ID case” which is actually a cigarette holder and a key topper so I can tell which key is which, my house key looks the same as my building key. I always kinda panic when I go home because the building entrance is surrounded by tall bushes on either side., I always want to have my key out when it is dark. I have scared my friends and family a few times by popping out of them… funny, but I don’t want anyone doing that to me.
Anyways, it was an thankfully uneventful 4th, I got to see my baby niece and nephew (twins) - who are so beautiful. I got to watch HGTV, which I love but don’t have cable and did not knit a stitch. Which is okay. My daughter and my older niece fought a lot and my mother nearly went crazy, she is not used to having so much action in her house anymore. My mom made some bomb food and gave us samples the morning of the bbq. It made me miss mommy’s cooking. My dad called and I got to hassle him about not making smoked salmon for me and reminding him that my birthday is coming up in September so he should be prepared to bring me some. My cousins came by to eat with us and we ended the day watching my mom’s nieghbors set off thier fireworks. Which is free, crowd free and fun.
Actually, we ended the evening angry at my little sister again. She chased our other sister around the house with her smelly old shoe and even more disturbing is the fact that some substance fell out of the shoe and onto the floor- We do not know what in the hell it was. Ewwww. We are all adults- should we be chasing each other with shoes? She started arguing and teasing my 9 year old niece also and made the girl break down and cry. They are both brats, but she is still the adult and should remember that she always looks dumb fighting with a kid.
