Reading the entries to my blog, it might come across lthat I’m a lazy blogger. The fact is, the entries I wrote that did not make the cut are more than the ones that did. This one almost didn’t get posted, but due to certain turn of events, well, here you go: not so fresh from the oven news.

2008 is proving to be a bad, bad year in the television history. First, The Hills’ nauseatingly (in)famous faux couple, Heidi and Spencer were reported to guest star in an upcoming episode of the most legendary tv show to date, How I Met Your Mother. And this just in: Heidi, Spencer and -wait for it- Kim Kardahsian have been confirmed to appear in the January episode. Sad.
Pushing Daisies is rumored to be getting prematurely axed this season.
The facts are these:
ABC is dissatisfied with the low rating and has told producers to treat the upcoming 13th episode as a series finale. They have until January to order new episodes but everyone, even the one persistently signing petitions to save PD, suspects that the decision has been made, and not a very good one at that. Plus, Daisies’ creator, Bryan Fuller has agreed to go back to Heroes (silver lining? you decide).
To have a critically acclaimed, unique show full of super talents like Kristin Chenoweth, Chi McBride and Jim Dale(!!!), wrapped up in only 13 episodes, clearly a result of poor promotional efforts… Fairytales don’t have happy endings, indeed. Sadder.
The head of cardiologist position in Seattle Grace Hospital seems to have been jinxed!!!!! After last year’s scandalous departure of Preston Burke, Grey’s Anatomy has showed another DADA professor syndrome by sending Dr. Erica Hahn off the OR.
As a series regular, Brooke Smith portrayed the lesbian top heart surgeon Dr. Hahn. How did she go? Was she in probation for cutting someone’s LVAD? Did she leave someone in the altar? Apparently: a hasty exit storyline that was concocted to break up Hahn-Callie’s blooming relationship. I miss those days when doctors don’t just quit their job because of a romance gone bad. The order to let Brooke go had come out of the blue. The actress was informed only a week before her last episode, the official reason being they could no longer write for her character.
The news has outraged gay community and raised much speculation: is there a bigger, hidden agenda behind this firing?
ABC has never been quicker to issue public statements, insisting the decision has nothing to do with Brooke’s lesbian character or any attempt on degaying the show. Of course, just like Isaiah Washington was not fired because of his homophobic comments.
To be fair, maybe this has nothing to do with anything rumored. Maybe it’s really creative issue. Personally, what I feel appalling is how ABC treated their actors. This kind of big decision isn’t made out of whim, and I found the ~graceful~ way the network handled it a total disrespect for Brooke. It’s definitely not a smart move for ABC and the show (unless they really believe that there is no bad publicity). Sometimes your biggest rival is yourself, and Grey has not been able to outperform its brilliant season two. With continuous controversy and possible similar fate for the next heart surgeon to grace Seattle Grace, seriously, ABC. Want people to stop watching Grey’s altogether? Keep firing.

My daisies’ news is totally not fresh. As in several days ago, Pushing Daisies officially pushed up the daisies. Fans all over the world expressed disappointment to ABC for not giving the show a fair chance.
Fingers crossed that Fuller’s idea to tie the remaining loose ends (the last eppi is going to end in cliffhanger!!!) in a comic book, or better, a movie would be realised. Listening to Jim Dale’s voice in the big screen, awesome!

Gossip Girl. My new favorite show. I’ve two others actually: How I met your mother and Samantha Who?, but first thing first. Adapted from a popular book series by the same title, the story tells about one mysterious online persona called ‘Gossip Girl’ (voiced by Kristen Bell -Veronica Mars, Heroes-) who dishes out dirtiest secrets of the teen elitists in NYC, and we learn that all is not always bright and shiny in Pradaland.
