Nodame Cantabile is a Japanese drama based on the ever so popular manga by Tomoko Ninomiya that goes by the same title.
~Synopsis~
Chiaki Sinichi is a talented piano student at Momogaoka music academy, but he secretly dreams to become a conductor . Yet his childhood phobia of flying and travelling by sea only serves to hinder him from going abroad and pursue his ambition.
One day, Chiaki has a bizzare encounter with Noda Megumi (Nodame), a weird but excellent piano student with simple dream to be a kindergarten teacher and who likes to steal her best friend’s bento (lunch). By most unfortunate twist of fate (as Chiaki sees it), he learns that they are neighbors, and Nodame falls in love with him almost immediately.
A multi-talented perfectionist, Chiaki soon finds himself in an inexplicable situation wherein he starts feeding Nodame dinner, cleaning the super messy place she calls a house, even shampooing her hair; in her best hygiene, Nodame takes a bath only once every 3 days … *Pokes Raein* (Sorry….. I couldn’t resist xD).
Ahem.
Anyway, an incident with the famous German conductor, Stressemann, leaves Chiaki to conduct on his behalf for the S-Orchestra (S for Special), apparently the school’s group of underachievers. But will he ever overcome his phobia and get on his long overdue path to be a conductor?
Starring Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi, Nodame Cantabile Live Action manages to show the quirky (and cute 0.o?) Nodame and the often narcisstic Chiaki in perfection. (Mukya -_-)

badtz, I watched ‘The King and the Clowns’, so I like Lee Jun Ki too. I’m totally jealous of his beauty! XD Hmm I don’t think all J-dorama are based on comic books, just that some mangas get *too* popular that they just have to make it into drama series
Kt, well, I can’t really say for sure as both versions are very funny. The manga is more detailed though, while the 11 episodes drama had to make some changes to fit the duration. But when I watched the drama, I was like, whoa Nodame saying ‘gyaboo’ / Chiaki drown in the bath tub (LOL). It’s kind of awesome. That’s maybe why it is called Live Action ^u^ Anyway, I’ll edit my entry with the links to read the manga
