and so is Dumbledore!

I know this is old. I just never got around to post this. I’m officially free from Synoptic, yay! (and welcome to Entreprenurial Business Planning) @_@;

Anyhow what d’ya think of the news? Good… bad?

I have posted pretty much all I could think of in leakylounge.com o3o It’s a pretty heated debate (not as heated as the front page’s comment though- too much profanity for my liking), I witnessed a 9 pages thread grew into almost 100 pages in less than a week D: I’m pro the news by the way. To be honest, ever since DH, I had my suspicion, especially induced by who else but FFN. It just confirmed my fanfiction instinct LOLOLOL. Basically these were my thoughts about it. Sorry for the bad English- I was sleepy! :)

DH SPOILER ALERT: Do not proceed if you have not finished Deathly Hallows!

Still go ahead?

Okay don’t say I didn’t warn ya~

- What intrigues me was, how could no one ever questions about Dumbledore’s true love in previous interviews? This is exactly the same situation when JK expected people to ask about what Dumbledore’s wand was made of, and she would have possibly avoided answering that due to the significance of Elder Wand in the last book. But no one ever did. It amazed me how amongst the copious amount of interviews and Q&A sessions that Jo had attended, only a few days ago that someone came up with the question regarding DD’s love life.

- When Dumbledore asked Snape, ‘After all this time?’ and Snape answered, ‘Always’, I had thought that his tearful moment was due to his sympathy to Snape’s undying love to Lily, although the scene has always bugged me for reasons I couldn’t quite point out. Now it gives a new light that Dumbledore’s sadness *might* have reflected to his own old love to Grindelwald, which had probably lasted for such a long time. He might believe that pushing his love aside, he had gotten over that feeling, but perhaps as he realized, not completely :(

- The revelation actually shed a whole new light to the book, such as DD’s motive and obsession to work for the greater good. The hints were there all along with the significance of Lily’s one page missing letter that says “..could be friends with Grindelwald!”. It’s just that they were never picked up. Hardly believable though that no one has ever asked about DD’s love life all this time. People jumped so fast to conclude that Dumbledore is asexual.

- Someone: “Would it be better if Dumbledore told Harry about Grindelwald in King’s Cross?”
My response: Well I really don’t see that happening. His sexuality / love to Grindelwald bears no relation to the major storyline. At King’s Cross, it was about Harry and Voldermort and Horcruxes, not Dumbledore in particular. Would it be logical for Dumbledore to blurt out a huge piece of information about his love life? Imagine:

“Wow just wow, you love Grindelwald? OMG so how did.. bla.. when.. bla..”
“Harry, remember, you need to defeat Voldermort.”

Haha.. Would it be important for Harry to know that in order to defeat Voldermort? True, Harry wished he knew Dumbledore’s life better. Yet in the end, I guess that was kind of fulfilled as Dumbledore told Harry his biggest regret, which IMO was always about his family and sister, not Grindelwald. So mentioning that would be unnecessary and unfitting. Touching, yes, extremely, now that we know the truth, but put in the book 7 after so much shocking revelations about Dumbledore, it would be too much to take at once.

-Most importantly, after JK gave note to the movie scriptwriter mentioning that DD is gay, will we be seeing a slightly different line in HP 6, with Dumbledore saying, “I remember a boy, whose hair…”? :D

Random:
- Pushing Daisies and Grey’s are oh so good it hurts! *Loves* Someone even says they started to watch PD after seeing my sig. Yep, the one I made :)

*flipped happy*

- I’m getting a little obsessed with avatars and emoticons and forums. Or Internet in general. I have 600+ posts in TV.com, almooost 500 posts in CTMB. I don’t want to recount my other affiliates- that will scare me to no end. Is there a way to get off Internet? :O I am actually going to try one good method now: sleep. It’s 1:34 AM :/

I stayed up late just for you! XD ILY all :) :)

“Harry, remember, you need to defeat Voldermort.”

Thanks for the laugh, steffi.:P Anyway, when I first heard the news, I was like, “But, why, J.K., whyyyyy?!” and then I thought, “Oh, so that’s why he’s got a colorful wardrobe.”o_o

  2. it would be easier to tell if rowling used gay lingo for dumbledore’s dialogue, would it. :D

  3. Hey Steffi!

When I look back at the HP series, I just couldn’t picture Dumbledoor as gay. Prolly JK just said that for the fun of it?

Snape, IMO, is the best.wizard.ever. (yeah, take that James Potter)

    *Throws a watermelon at Steffi*

    XD

  4. Actually, it made me think, “Lol, she’s looking for more trouble from those Christian/Catholic groups.”

Her books are already tagged evil because of their magical nature. Rofl.

    Yeaaaah! I BLAME YOOOOUUU!
Cause of you I started watching Pushing Daisies! XD

  5. badtz, you’re welcome:P I was opening Yahoo, and the front page said, HP author outed Dumbledore. Just seeing the title, I was like, omg I think I know what that’s about haha.

od3sa, what kind of gay dialogue do you have in mind? XD

white-haired-journalist, now you pick on me too? haha *tackle watermelon and throw durians LOL* Anyway, perhaps we can agree to disagree. Since JK has built up every small HP plots for a long time before she started writing the books, and as we were told about DD defeating Grindelwald as early as book 1, I think she has already thought out all of this in her genious mind =) One thing I agree completely, Snape is, indeed the best wizard ever (James Potter? James who? XD)

Raein, I’m Catholic but I don’t really like this organized Christian/Catholic bodies. That is ridiculous. How can they hate Harry Potter? lol, I hope they focus more on bringing peace to our world and how people in some parts of the world do not eat 3 x a day :/
Haha you like pushing daisies too? It’s too cutee I love it x3

  6. WAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Steffi you rule girl! You rule!!! XD (Take that Tiffy. Snape all the way, baby! XD)

(Talks in a professional tone) Well in my opinion, the catholic movement has two factions in this stand. Many catholics (the youth) love HP and many Catholic leftists (in other words, those who are more on the traditions and follow opinions made by the priests) are against HP. The leftists’ reason? They have no solid basis. Just because HP features witchcraft they already deem it evil. Pretty unfair practice for those who said they’re holy, huh? Just because your last name is “Evil” doesn’t necessarily mean you are, right? (/Talks in a professional tone)

OUUUUCCCHHHH! That hurts Tiffy! And Durians smell bad :(

*Throws a bucket of hot gravy at Steffi*

    XD XD XD

  7. wow this news really caused a lot of repercussion! XD
