magical mystery mall:

rating: G (all ages) (nothing objectionable)

plot: Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Magical Mystery Mall is a video game that stars actresses Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It was produced by Dualstar Interactive for the PlayStation system in 2000 and it forms part of a varied line of things that have been produced with The Olsen twins’s names on them.
my review: forgive me I was actually in love with this game when I was a teenager and now if you were to show me this game I’d probably be like eh; it actually had some fun elements for example dressing up the girls was probably my favorite part. It’s an easy victory and one you might not want to admit to - 3/5

why you wouldn’t like it: the game is not very challenging and doesn’t introduce anything new in fact it’s made for girls and in that sense only girls would find enjoyment..Some of the minigames I found challenging when I was young which was why I never really played them or cared for them; also the 3d models are really chunky which is to be expected it’s a ps game

a galaxy police adventure

Tenchi Muyo Mihoshi Special: animation - 8, plot - 8, characters - 8, enjoyment - 8; 8

rated: PG (for bloodless violence and bad language)

plot: Mihoshi tells a story of her most famous mission with the Galaxy Police and casts all of the Tenchi Muyo characters, against their will, in it.

my review: the special focuses on mihoshi and kiyone which weren’t my favorite characters so it kind of paled in comparison to the series but it’s still an enjoyable special

why you wouldn’t like it: honestly if you weren’t a fan of tenchi then this might not be in your style

starting with k; kittie tagged me lol

Ogre battle: march of the black queen

: rating: ages 10 and up due to some slight conversations

summary: Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen begins in the outskirts of the Zeteginan Empire, twenty-four years after the founding of the empire through conquest. The main character is leading a revolution against this empire, which has turned to evil through the use of black magic by the mage Rashidi.

The game begins with the seer Warren using tarot cards to ask a series of questions to determine your suitability as leader of the revolution. There are several questions out of a fixed set which are randomly asked, each of which is associated with one of the twenty-two Major Arcana cards of divinatory tarot. Each question has three possible answers: one righteous, one evil, and one neutral. After the player finishes answering the questions, Warren wishes luck for the revolution and the game begins. The player’s answers to these questions determine the Lord’s (main character’s class) abilities and starting units.

review: this is for the Playstation version only I’ve never gotten the chance to play the other games; this is a turn based fantasy styled rpg I don’t know what lead me to actually like this game but honestly to me tactics ogre was better and easier; though you get the plus side of better graphics still at the time it was released it wasn’t very good - 4/5

why you wouldn’t like it:   the combat scenes get old very fast of course you can turn them off but it’s repetition that might turn you off

some anime shouldn’t be live-action

by cross_star_luv:hellokitty.com

grave of the fireflies:

live action, characters - 8, plot - 7, enjoyment - 7 - 7

description: NTV in Japan produced a live-action version of Grave of the Fireflies, in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. The movie aired on November 1, 2005. Like the anime, the live-action version of Grave of the Fireflies focuses on two siblings struggling to survive the final days of the war in Kobe, Japan. Unlike the animated version, it tells the story from the point of view of their cousin (the aunt’s daughter) and deals with the issue of how the war-time environment could change a kind lady into a cold-blooded demon. It stars Japanese celebrity and actress Nanako Matsushima as the aunt, as well as Inoue Mao as their cousin. The movie is approximately 2 hours and 28 minutes long.

my review: Unfortunately this just led to confusion for me and as it turns out this girl doesn’t even really show up in the anime often..I think it’s nice that there’s a new point of view to a story but it lost me and I don’t find it a classic

why you would like it: the cast actually is well chosen and they fit the characters very well

the last year for this maybe?

question of the day for friday

by cross_star_luv:hellokitty.com

A question on livejournal once again: July 16th’s 2nd question

Are you interested in intergalactic travel? What would you hope to discover?I’m very interested in intergalactic travel and I’d like to discover anything related to space  I just think it’d be something so amazing that scientists would probably name after me or even if  they didn’t I’d still be happy to say to my children or grandchildren that I saw it

been working day and nights on requests

by cross_star_luv:hellokitty.com

July 7th’s question of the day:

What news source do you use most often?

I tend to watch the daily show and the colbert report both give me kind of a different standpoint and both seem like news sources to me even though they are funny.

sorry about the last couple days and not posting reviews

by cross_star_luv:hellokitty.com

I haven’t been watching a lot of anime or playing video games really and I probably won’t be till july 19th I’ll still update this place fridays but for the time being reviews will be missing ><’. What I have been doing is focusing my energy on a message board and the event happens to be on and I’ve been doing requests which require me to stay on the board and click dragonflies…Which i’ve been doing till 4 am every night.

Anime network recently has been releasing some of their anime on demand online which I’ve been checking out avidly..If you sign up you get access to some of their series of course you have to pay for the rest but hey it’s free anime.

So here’s a question from LJ’s question of the day type thing: this was from june 26th 2009: In honor of the king of pop, what is your favorite michael jackson song?

Beat it..? I mean I can remember that video perfectly and my chorus teacher actually made us sing that one time for chorus class for a concert. I thought I would end up disliking that song after that but I fell more in love with that song because of it. (RIP)
