i decided to add some live action movies of anime to the anime reviews
dragonball evolution: live action -
characters - 6 , plot - 5, enjoyment - 7 - a flat 6 -
PG: 10 and up
my review: Before you say you watched this why? I watched it for the same reason any fan of dragonball did to see what happened. I don’t reconmend anyone to attempt to watch the movie until you watched the series because this won’t help you get into it.. One thing to note that they did right is that they really worked on the martial arts. It’s modernized big time which is ultimately its downfall; compared to the series you’ll think train wreck because it kind of is and if you’re going to take a name.. Isn’t the point to follow the series as loyally as possible?; the characters aren’t all bad I mean chichi’s actually good looking and she is indeed Asian. Bulma’s def not Asian however the actress who plays her is indeed Asian and she has weird highlights to disguise her hair and Yamacha’s kept as well as they could. Is this worth 2 sequels? No and since it was a bust in the box office it’s not likely they’ll do even a sequel.
why you would like it: if you want an action movie then skip the fact that dragonball is in the title because it’s an okay action movie but that’s it.

I practically grew up watching Dragonball, so I had to watch this movie even though I knew it was going to be bad (same reason why I watch games/comics/TV shows-turned-movies). The only redeeming value this film had was that it was sorta funny, but as a DBZ flick, it pretty much failed. Bulma was trying too hard to have this “yeah, I’m good” vibe, and Piccolo wasn’t really that intimidating.

don’t get me started on piccolo i already knew the actor from buffy the vampire slayer fame so everytime he came on scene it was just like spike because he had the vampire fangs in. Bulma was hot I didn’t care so much for the attitude I thought she was honestly eye candy XD.

Yeah. I liked him in Buffy, but it was just painful seeing him in the DBZ movie.x_x I also didn’t like they guy they cast as Yamcha. There was something off about him.
