grave of the fireflies: animation - 10, characters - 10, plot - 10, enjoyment - 10 - 10

Older Children 10 and up (May contain mild bad language, bloodless violence)

summary:  On the final days of World War II, 14-year-old Seita and his four-year-old sister Setsuko are orphaned after their mother is killed during an air-raid by American forces in Kobe, Japan. After having a falling-out with their aunt, they move into an abandoned bomb shelter. With no surviving relatives and their emergency funds and rations depleted, Seita and Setsuko must struggle to survive their hardships as well as those of their country, which is on the losing end of the war.

my review: Another anime classic that any true anime fan should have seen; yay another one that’ll make you cry..There’s not really anymore I can say i fell madly in love with this anime at a young age and everyone is guranteed to do the same.

why you wouldn’t like it: apparently some reviwers have said that the emotions of the characters may seem fake..It’s also considered predictable because you know what’s going to happen

a super s game now!

sailor moon super s: fuwa fuwa panic:

rating: all ages (nothing offensive about this game to note)

plot: The point of the game is to survive, hope, and plan that balloons in your opponent’s playing field fall outside the playing field so that they lose. There are two main modes in this game: story mode and versus mode. In the story mode, you can only play as one of the Super Inner Senshi. You go around fighting all the senshi (Sailor Moon, Chibimoon, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) until you win. In the versus mode, you can play as any of the 9 senshi and pick who you want to fight against (whether it be a second player or the computer). Yes, Tuxedo Kamen and Sailor Saturn DO appear in the game but you cannot play as or against either of them. However, Tuxedo Kamen plays an important role that is mentioned below. Saturn just appears in the Story Mode. - 5/5

my review:I like this game i like the sprites but i think the hardest character on there is Sailor Uranus; I haven’t made it past her yet to this day which is a real pity, best character to use is honestly maybe super sailor moon, mercury, chibimoon, uranus and neptune..

why you wouldn’t like this game: it’s another puzzle game in Japanese enough said there is no english translation
(this place has a site with all of the sprites from this video game) http://www.la-soldier.net/Graphics/Vgs/vgsprites.php

here is my detail on reviews and such.

I never felt like I explained my reviews in general detail
I’ve added some new things I felt like explaining
so here is why i thought i would be suitable to review anime was because
according to anidb I’ve seen over 300 anime series (I’ve started watching anime since I was 11).
I’ve been reviewing them for a few years shortly after I was 13
I’ve had people say they like the reviews and find them helpful
I don’t do reconmendations personally unless you ask
I know the ins and outs but don’t expect me to be perfect.

The video games are kind of added while
I haven’t really beaten many video games
I’m pretty good at knowing which ones are worth the time and which aren’t..
One thing i will never do here is review manga;
i haven’t read enough of them to be good at it.
I also don’t read manga until i like a series or i like an author’s style.. (for example clamp and naoko takeuchi’s works i am planning on reading in the near future)

I added ratings to the reviews for one reason alone;
I figure most of the people who go on sanriotown are under a certain age limit
they’re guidelines basically to separate the more adult oriented reviews from the younger age reviews.
I’m also not very accurate with those because i usually follow ann’s ratings and I usually wind up figuring out they’re wrong most of the time.
One thing i can guarantee is that the anime i review from now on will be cut off for teens 13 and up. It’s pretty easy to determine an anime’s rating simply by the content refer to my myspace if you want to see more adult oriented reviews (if you can make it past the survey spam I swear I will fix that as soon as I find  another blogging site i’m comfortable with).

Lately I’ve added why someone wouldn’t be interested in this:
which is just a general point of view from other sides usually if the reviewers on anidb say something about it.
I usually try to put it in here; also my own opinions on why someone wouldn’t be into this.. I’ll try to expand to this since there are now live action movies to anime

azumanga daioh: animation - 10, characters - 10, plot - 10, enjoyment - 10 - 10 -

(teenagers 13 and up: mild bad language, bloodless violence and subject matter)

summary: Azumanga Daioh is about high school life through the eyes of six girls with unusual personalities: Chiyo (the 10-year-old genius), Osaka (the resident airhead), Sakaki (the shy one prone to cat bites), Tomo (the loose cannon), Yomi (the short-tempered one) and Kagura (the resident jock).

my review: i love azumanga daioh it’s such a cute and random anime and I like cute and random things I find chiyo to be adorable and osaka to be so weird and i luff her

reason why you wouldn’t get into this series: it’s random also if you can’t relate to the characters. It’s also a different kind of slice and life and sometimes it can seem repetitive; also character description can be vague but this is where the manga comes in kind of.. Also 26 episodes is a long time to spend on any anime.

I definitely believe this was made about the 1st half of sailor moon s

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S: Kondo ha Puzzle de Oshiokiyo:

rating: all ages

summary: This game is a puzzle based on Sailormoon S season. There are a total of ten characters in the game. Depending on which character you choose, you will get a different special attack. You have to click on a group of two or more same colored blocks to make them disappear.

As you destroy the blocks, a bar on the left side of your screen will start to fill up. When you fill one fifth of the bar, you can perform your characters special (there are five levels of specials). If you destroy a lot of blocks at once, grey blocks will fall onto your opponent’s area. These can’t be matched up to be destroyed, but must be touching another group of blocks being destroyed. To win, you must either empty your own area of all blocks, or fill your opponent’s area up to the top.

my review: compared to the other sailor moon puzzle games this is a new challenge; I guess honestly i loved mars i spent a lot time on her mainly because of her attacks they’re the most devastating i feel like; anyway you have to beat this game without any continues which is the way every Japanese game works it looks like if you get a continue you start over plain and simple; I just didn’t have the energy to play it again and beat it because that annoyed me - 3/5

reason why you wouldn’t get into this: actually i don’t see a reason why someone would get into this because it’s not a very good puzzle game and it’s actually very hard even in Japanese..

which is technically a holiday which means a music survey as a sort of a break

Put your iTunes on shuffle and answer the questions with the first lyrics.
(i use pandora radio)

Who are you?
whenever i’m alone with you you make me feel like i am home again

Are you male or female?
I dont want to spend the rest of my life looking at the barrel of an armalite

What place do you love best?
If it’s getting harder to face every day Don’t let it show, don’t let it show

What do you look like?
Something in the way she moves, attracts me like no other lover.

What do you want to say to your best friend?
Polly wants a cracker I think I should get off her first

What’s your best quality?
I heard you crying loud, all the way across town

What’s your worst quality?
Tom Cruise is so in love with Katie; At least all his people tell him so

Where do you see yourself in one year?
I can’t help myself I’m addicted to a life of material

What’s your secret?
Boys call you sexy (What’s up sexy) and you don’t care what they say

Something you like about yourself:
Thought that I was going crazy, Just having one of those days yeah

What does love mean to you?
In the night I hear ‘em talk, The coldest story ever told.

What would you say to the one who got away?
No one looked, I walked by

What makes you angry?
There is freedom within, there is freedom without, Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup

What makes you happy?
I must have dreamed a thousand dreams Been haunted by a million screams

What makes you sad?
Standing in the rain, with his head hung low; Couldnt get a ticket, it was a sold out show

How do you feel when you think about your biggest mistake?
Getting born in the state of Mississippi; Papa was a copper and mama was a hippie

Some words to live by:
Here we stand; Worlds apart, hearts broken in two, two, two

psychic powers = epic!

pokemon movie 8: lucario and the mystery of mew

animation - 10, characters  - 8, plot - 9, enjoyment - 8 - 8

rating: G (all ages)

plot summary:  In the town of Lohta, a festival is thrown praising “Aaron the Wave Leader Hero” who, according to the legend passed down through the town’s generations, stopped a war centuries ago by using the power of “the Tree of the World’s Origin.” Satoshi and Pikachu participate in a battle to decide this year’s hero and after their victory, they are chosen as the “Wave Leader Hero.” A grand dance party is held in the castle to celebrate the victor, but suddenly the phantom Pokemon Mew appears and takes Pikachu. Soon afterwards, the Wave Leader Pokemon “Lucario” is freed from his centuries-long seal and meets Satoshi. Satoshi must solve the various mysteries of where Pikachu is, what Mew’s after, what the secret of the legend of the Wave Leader is and how it ties in with Lucario’s hidden past as he makes his way to “the Tree of the World’s Origin” with Lucario.

my review:  i like mew i think this is such a cute movie for pokemon fans to watch and introduces lucario the epic psychic pokemon that will change the way we look at pokemon forever. It’s a good idea to watch some episodes of pokemon advanced generation before watching this otherwise you’ll notice some slight changes.

who wouldn’t like it: if you gave up on the pokemon franchise a long time ago then you will probably not like it.

i like chibi character puzzle games

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S - Kurukururin:

<br>rating: all ages (beware of the death busters as they scared even me)
plot summary: The point of this game is to get the three Talismans (the Deep Aqua Mirror, the Space Sword, and the Garnet Orb) before your opponent does. You can initially play as Sailor Moon; Sailor Mars; Sailor Mercury; Sailor Venus; Sailor Jupiter; Sailor Chibimoon; Sailor Uranus; Sailor Neptune; Sailor Pluto; or Tuxedo Kamen. To win, you must get each Talisman to drop all the way your playing field to the end, where they drop off. You only get one Talisman at a time. To find them, you must clear the hearts off your playing field so that a Talisman drops down. To clear the hearts, you have to match up hearts of the same color. To clear them, simply press whatever keyboard button matches the “B” button (it varies from emulator to emulator and on the options you selected if you did [3rd choice down on the title screen]). Once cleared, other hearts from above it drop down. If it so happens that there are other matching colored hearts that fall down where your Luna-P is, those will automatically be cleared. The more automatic clears you get, the more hearts will pop up by rows at the bottom of your opponent’s playing field. The light-blue hearts are hearts you must turn over. To turn them over, simply have your Luna-P jump on them (using the up, down, left, and right keys).

my review: i didn’t see any problem with this game i actually enjoyed it a lot mainly because you had a choice of who you wanted to play against the computer and you also get tuxedo mask and sailor pluto to play as; another thing to note that is different from the other ones is that your enemy can only attack when they have the heart rod; the special attacks that caused me trouble was probably neptune’s deep submerge just due to the annoyance of it. The best scout to play for this might be sailor moon, sailor chibi moon, tuxedo mask, sailor mercury and sailor uranus..-5/5

why one wouldn’t get into this: it’s in japanese so you don’t understand what you’re doing if you’re not careful since it’s a puzzle game it’s pretty straight forward the only way to play this is with an emulator
