I rescued my dog from the animal shelter because I believe it’s better to give a home to a needy dog, rather than buying one from a puppy mill (dirty, abusive place designed solely for reproducing puppies for profit).
My dog is my baby, my guardian and my best friend! She has changed my life for the better and I hope I have given her a better life as well!

I named her Terra because it was a fitting name. She is joyful, playful, curious, quick learner, loving, sweet, and SPOILED!!!

She is a mixed breed; half jack russell with beagle & chihuahua blood! But I don’t care what she is—she is simply the best!
I adore her because every morning she wakes me up to go to work; she sticks her snout in my hand and persists until I start scratching her— this indicates to her that I’ve woken up!
When I come home she greets me at the door wagging her tail and sometimes barking. The 1st year she’d pee on the floor by my feet (extreme happiness?)
She loves to play and loves to chase my daughter around the house and also play hide & seek! She is such a clever little dog!

After dinner, she comes to me and whines at my feet—this means it’s bedtime and I have to get up and go upstairs to bed. She climbs up on my bed and stakes out her territory where she sleeps (and protects me during the night), until it’s time to wake me again.
I adore her and she knows it! But best of all, she returns my love and gives me many puppy-kisses!
She is the first and only dog I’ve ever had, and this has been a fantastic relationship! I cannot believe how much pleasure I’ve derived from having a pet. This will be her 3rd yr with us.

I’ve read in a magazine that people who have pets live longer, happier lives— is this true?
Whether it is or not, I just cannot imagine my life without her!

I agree that people with dogs seem to be happier, at least that applies to the people I know. HeHe. I am just not sure if the size of the dog also determines the level of happiness. LOL.
Hey, I really like your decision - getting a dog from the shelter instead of buying a ‘brand’ new dog. And she does look like a babe.

Thanks so much for your comments! Yes, she is a babe, isn’t she!?
