“Akuma” - living weapons with soul inside them. They are made by the Earl, who lived a thousand years. He tricks people who lost their loved ones into bringing them back to life. To do that, he needs them to call out the spirit of their loved one and put it into the vessel. But it only becomes something not human, something that the Earl uses to kill people and turn them into another akuma.
The exorcists are chosen holy people who are the only one to stop these weapons. They are equipped with “innocence”, the only weapon that can destroy the akuma. The souls inside the weapon are released by the innocence and the akuma will be destroyed.
Allen Walker, the protagonist, is boy who turned his father into an akuma. He later joined the Black Order to become an exorcist to repent for his sin. He then encounters different people, akuma, and exorcists.
This is a really great series by Hoshino-sensei. It beautifuly portrays the psychology of human beings with how they react in times of despair and joy, and tries to explain that “nothing is perfect”. Though you have to watch/read the whole series to be able to grasp the essence fully.

~I recommend reading the manga first, as it is the original and real story. The anime is also good, but the story is almost completely different ;)~

Kuragehime, or in English - Jellyfish Princess, is about a girl named Kurashita Tsukimi who is a jellyfish otaku. She lives in an apartment with fellow otakus, each having their own obsessions. They are akward to society and are all recluses in the apartment. They do not like being with ‘fashionable people’. Amars (frm ‘ama’ w/c means nun) is the name they call their group. Basically, it means =no boys allowed in the apartment=. That is the one rule they cannot break.
She always visit a petshop where a jellyfish named Clara (kurara) is displayed whenever she feels down. One night she saw that Clara might die because the jellyfish with her tank is incompatible with her. Tuskimi tried to asked the clerk to put them in separate tanks, but– the clerk was a fashionable person! The clerk got scared of her and kicked her away. Incidentally, there was a very beautiful woman passing by who saw her. Luckily the woman is very nice and helped Tsukimi and ended up buying the jellyfish. She let the pretty woman stay over the night as a thanks because the woman said its too troublesome to go back home.
Tsukimi woke up the next day and saw a pile of silky soft hair. She thought that women these days use wigs to look different everyday. She tried the wig and got disappointed at her reflection in the mirror, thinking she would never be beautiful. But before she can remove the wig, she heard a man’s voice! The woman she let in was a man!! How can she avoid the punishment now? Is he the person that will bring them salvation and fix their inferiority complex against the world?
Kuragehime is VERY recommended for you gals(and guys) who want a unique type of shojo genre. No cliches, no cheesy lines… it has just the right amount of comedy, and it tickles your heart~~~
